Honeymooners

Eddie and I did not think we were going to go on a honeymoon with everything that was going on in the past year, but we ended up pulling everything together and were able to have an amazing honeymoon! I'm so glad we were able to go on a honeymoon because it really made everything feel real. Our resort was on the island of Cancun, but completely secluded from the "party" scene. We were looking for a place to relax, but still have fun... so we chose to go to Excellence Resorts in Playa Mujeres, Mexico; which is strictly a couples resort - no kiddos allowed. It was sooo relaxing and beautiful!

When we arrived at our room we had this on the door:

And this on our bed:

Our first day in paradise was full of rest and relaxation!

The second day of our honeymoon we planned a trip to a close island, Isla Mujeres, where we had lots of fun. We took a ferry to Isla Mujeres and the water was sooo stinkin' blue.
IT WAS AMAZING!!

First we swam with dolphins:
(This is Daniella kissing Ed...
the only time I will let another women kiss him!)

(Me and Padmi)

Then we went zip-lining over the coral reef. There were three zip-lines and two of them were over the ocean. I was so scared, but it was so much fun!

After zip-lining we went snorkeling; which was such an adventure...

Eddie and I decided that we were going to go balls-to-the-wall and not be scared to go far out in the ocean. First, let me tell you that Eddie is scared of big bodies of water and can't swim. So, after we had our lifejackets and gear on we headed out and before we knew it we looked back and the shore was so far away! We were floating in about 30 feet of water and were amazed at all the fish and how beautiful the reef was. As we were chillin' out in the ocean we saw another snorkeler approaching us. Then, we saw this huge GI-NORMOUS thing behind him. Of course, I freaked out and hid behind Ed (like that would save me, right?!). Ed said, "Dude! What's that thing behind you?!" and the snorkeler said, "I don't know! It followed me out here, but it has huge fangs!!" Needless to say, Ed and I ran snorkeled to shore. We later found out that it was a barracuda. Once we got back to our hotel, we researched what a barracuda is and this is the first thing we read, "The collective name for a group of barracudas is a battery. They are voracious, opportunistic predators relying on surprise and short bursts of speed (up to 27 miles per hour to overtake their prey)." Apparently, they are attracted to the color gray and that guy had a gray t-shirt on! (Note to self: NEVER wear gray shirts in the ocean.)

Here what this gem looked like:
(YIKESSS!!!)

Since we were exhausted after that day, we planned a day at the spa. We spent two hours getting pampered and eating strawberries and champagne. We enjoyed our couples massage so much that we went back the next day. Absolutely Fabulous!
