My best friends birthday just so happens to be 3 days after mine and since she was turning 25 we wanted to do something special to celebrate so I booked us swedish massages at Green Valley Ranch. We arrived at the spa in the morning and got cozy in our robes for our 50 minutes of heaven:
(Happy Birthday, Francesca!! Love you!)
Frannie got Maggie and I got Steve. I should have known he would be a weirdo due to the name because as Matt said, "all Steves are weird." Dude had a full blown mustache, but needless to say he had me in such a deep, deeeeep state of relaxation. Such a deep state of relaxation that when he picked up my limp arm at one point I caressed his face because I obviously had no idea where it was since my eyes were closed. I wanted to laugh so hard and tell Francesca, but I held out until Stevearino and Maggie left the room.
After our massages, we went and sat around the hot tub and drank mimosas while chit chatting for hours. It. Was. Awesome. I think we will have to do this every year because it was just perfect and really kicked off our birthdays in the right direction!
I came home to a napping baby and a red velvet bundt cake from 'Nothing Bundt Cake':
Tenley woke up from her nap in such a good mood and had a blast taking Pearl for a ride in her Benz:
Tenley and Ed sang 'Happy Birthday' to me:
Tenley Bear and I had such a hard time blowing out those darn candles:
Once I finally blew out the candles, we met Frannie and Matt at 'Red Robin' for some grub. After dinner, we came back to our place and watched the movie 'Savages'; which was super good.
We hung out, laughed, and opened presents. Francesca got me thee cutest purse, lotions and cozy socks; while my present from Ed was a little less warm and fuzzy- a Beretta 92A1:
(Some girls may be offended by a gift like this, but I love my husband for buying me this. I am always scared when I am home alone [even with an alarm]. So this was perfect! It even has a tactical laser and flashlight on it so if a intruder comes in my house at night I can still see my target. Badassssss. More of a gift for Ed, I think. I still like it, but I'm on to you Ed!)
I really don't think it could've been a better day. I have thee most amazing daughter who brings such joy and excitement to my life, a husband who takes such phenomenal care of me AND Tenley and who loves us unconditionally, and I have friends that make me laugh non-stop and I couldn't imagine life without them. This truly was the best birthday I've had in yearsssss. Who knew the way to this girls heart was through spa treatments and gun ammo?
