Thee Most Special Gift

Ed's mom and grandma couldn't resist a quick trip to Vegas to cuddle up on our little chunky monk so they came into town on December 16th and stayed until December 18th. Tenley and I got up early Friday morning in anticipation of their arrival and little miss Tenley was so excited and photogenic.

She was happy to see her grandma's and hung out with everyone all afternoon.

Ed and I were especially excited for their visit because we planned our first post-baby date for their first night in town. When Ed and I discussed our first outing without the baby Ed said, "we'll have to go at like 4:30 so were home in time for bath time"; which totally put a smile on my face (ahhh the sweet life of a parent). I must say, it was nice to shower, put on a dress and makeup and spend some alone time with my handsome hub. We went to our favorite italian restaurant - Ventano. It was the first time we were able to eat a meal without holding Tenley or inhaling our food in anticipation of Tenley interrupting and it was veryyy nice. We even enjoyed wine; which was delish. Although we were only gone for a little over 3 hours, we were dying to get home and squeeze our little munchkin. Tenley absolutely loves her bath time and someday she won't want or need us to give her "bathies" so we wouldn't miss it for the world (even if it means being home by 8 pm). After all, family time with Tenley is the most important thing to Ed and I.

Tenley spent Saturday morning playing and shopping with her grandmas. She even got a special gift from her great grandma or as she'd like to be called, "Gi Gi".  Eddie's grandma made him this amazing hand-made Christmas stocking when he was little that I've always admired so Gi Gi spent 5 whole weeks (sometimes 8 hours a day) making Tenley her very own hand-made stocking and it is B-E-A-UTIFUL, just like her. I believe it's thee most special gift Tenley has received and she will treasure it forever.

(Thanks, Gi Gi!! We love you.)

Later that day we all got ready for the Cantor's annual Christmas party.

Teddy had a good time at the party and got passed around throughout the night.

The party pooped her out and Gi Gi was able to put her to sleep when she began to fuss.

The party exhausted chunker so much that she slept for a whole 10 hours. She usually has a 7 or 8 hour non-stop stretch of sleep, but this was her record high stretch; which Ed and I enjoyed! The good nights sleep really put Tenley in a good mood the next morning.

So good that she was laughing for Grandma.

After playing in the morning she took a 4 hour nap and got ready for the day ahead.

Tenley had a good time with her grandmas and was so exhausted from their visit.

I'm so glad we got to spend time with Ed's mom and grandma. It was nice to give my arms a break, but I must say I missed being the one holding her all day. I really am spoiled with the time I get with her each and every day and I truly wouldn't have it any other way.
