We started the week by celebrating Ed's birthday!!
Tenley loves to film herself on my iPhone and was being super silly:
The weather is starting to cool down (meaning 90's) so we took advantage of it and played on T's swing set when Daddy got home from work:
...and practiced teamwork:
Tenley was such a trooper and was acting normal after her nap:
Day two after her accident T-bear was still refusing naps, but back to her super silly self...
...and by day 3 she had completely forgotten about it:
The next day, her tooth came down all the way and hadn't fallen out so I think we are in the clear - YAY!!
She was feeling a-okay just in time for our favorite time of the year... football season!! I love football season for two reasons: 1) because I love football (and the Steelers) and 2) because that means the holidays (and T's birthday) are coming!!
Can you believe this was her first Steelers game last year?!
We started off the day with breakfast at The Cracked Egg:
Even though we lost to the lame Broncos we still had fun watching football allll day:
I finally got a pic of those baby fangs I've been telling you about:
How funny, huh?! My lil' baby vamp. Love her.
The next day - Wednesday - was the DAY FROM HELL... I already dread Wednesdays as it is because Eddie works, then goes to school in North Las Vegas until 8:30. Needless to say, I am on my own with Tenley from sun up to sun down. Ed comes home for an hour before school, but it is usually during T's nap so he usually doesn't get to see her on Wednesdays. Anyways, on to the real reason the day was horrid...
The day started off like any normal day. These two rug-rats played tug-of war...
...and practiced teamwork:
Then, Tenley refused 3 naps and was a tired little monster. When she is tired she does this lazy crawl where she looks like she's intoxicated... she'll be crawling and her arms will give out on her and BOOM! her face will plop down on the ground. Well, during this lazy crawl she reached the spot on the ground where the carpet just turned to tile and it was like I was watching her in slow motion... her face tilted down and smacked the tile and she jerked up and I watched her bink roll onto the carpet and it was full of blood. She instantly turned red and her mouth opened like she was screaming, but she was so upset that no noise was coming out. Blood started to come out of her mouth and onto her shirt. I picked her up and held her head tightly to my chest. At this point her screams became real and she was covered in blood, sweat, and tears. It was just thee most awful thing EVER. I grabbed paper towels and put them in her mouth to try to stop the bleeding so I could figure out what was actually bleeding.
This is just some of the blood:
While I did that, I called Ed's work cell phone and explained what happened to see if I should go to the ER. After about 5 minutes Tenley stopped crying and the blood had slowed down. Tenley never lets us look in her mouth so I held her up to see if I could see anything. I noticed that her top tooth had blood dots around it and was now level with her gums. When she fell on that side her bink must've pushed it up into her gums. I felt horrible. Ed told me I could go to the pediatrician, but when I called the nurse didn't understand what I was telling her. She kept saying, "so her canine tooth just came in?" Even though I had told her several times that she had it for weeks! I talked to Frannie a.k.a. Miss Dental Hygienist and she said it could come down, but that it could also fall out. Since I was worried, I called my dentist and she said I could bring her in if I wanted to, but that there was not much that they could do with a baby tooth. So I called my mother-in-law because I knew she would make me feel better and I was right... She always knows just the right things to say. I really don't know what I'd do without her!!
Tenley was such a trooper and was acting normal after her nap:
She woke up every two hours that night, but the next day her tooth began to show signs that it was coming down. Due to the movement of her tooth she was extra fussy and refused her nap (again). I tried to let her cry-it-out for 45 minutes, but she was relentless and ended up falling asleep in my arms; which is super rare for Tenley:
(BTW - whoever came up with the cry-it-out method is just an asshole.)
Day two after her accident T-bear was still refusing naps, but back to her super silly self...
