Easter snuck up on us really fast this year so we jammed all of our Easter traditions into three days; which made for a super fun Easter Eggstravaganza!
We went to Ethel M's to see the Easter Bunny and we were greeted by the real thing:
...Tenley was being a goofball with Daddy while she waited to get her picture taken with the Easter Bunny:
...when we got to the front of the line Tenley kept reaching out for the Easter Bunny and squealing with excitement. Needless to say, she loved him:
...we stopped in the M&M store to fill up on T's favorite candy and my future baller was obsessed with a basketball she found (and the orange M&M guy):
(Obviously, this kid loves bears.)
...after seeing the Easter Bunny and buying M&M's we headed home to play in the backyard:
Since we couldn't be home to be apart of my Aunt Donna's big Easter Egg Hunt, we went to Town Square Saturday morning to register T for their Easter Egg Hunt. Apparently it is really popular because all the morning hunts were full...I was so bummed! We stayed and played for a bit so Tenley could at least get some play time in:
...Ed was determined to get T into the afternoon Easter Egg Hunt so while I stayed home with T he went to wait in the long line and made sure she got in. What a great Dad, right? Well, to top it off he walked in the house with a surprise goodie bag for me...inside were the Dolce & Gabanna sunglasses I've had my eyes on! I couldn't believe it...thanks, Ed!
(BEST. HUSBAND. EVER. Love you, Ed!)
...Ed got T in the 4pm hunt and she anxiously waited in line:
...when the hunt started she was so excited and ran out to inspect the eggs scattered all over:
(She picked out her Mickey Mouse basket all by herself.)
...it was a great day and I'm glad Tenley got to partake in her first Easter Egg Hunt!
It was tradition in my house for the Easter Bunny to hide our baskets. Since Tenley doesn't really understand hide-and-seek the Easter Bunny kind of hid Tenley's basket out in the open and left her a trail:
...she was so excited when she saw her baskets:
...the Easter Bunny got her bubbles, a Cinderella kite, coloring books, movies, and much more:
...who knew all she really wanted were empty eggs and a banana split sucker:
...we made Tenley these delicious bunnies for breakfast:
(Don't worry she didn't come close to finishing it all!)
...after breakfast we headed outside to dye eggs and Tenley played while I set everything up:
...she had so much fun dying the eggs! I wrote on some of the eggs and let her do all of the dying by herself; which was a mess, but so much fun! She spilled the cups on herself, tried drinking them, and put 5 eggs in one cup:
...Tenley was so upset when we started to put everything away. She had such a blast! It's hard to believe that last year she just watched us dye eggs and had no idea what we were doing:
...after all of our morning fun Tenley took a long nap:
...when T woke up we got ready and took some Easter pictures:
(Please stop growing, baby girl...)
...per tradition, we headed to Acacia Park to fly T's kite from the Easter Bunny:
...she even flew her kite all by herself:
...until she got it stuck in a tree and Daddy had to rescue it:
...once we got it untangled, I got it back in the air:
We had such a great Easter Eggstravaganza weekend!!
As I write this blog and reflect on the weekend I realize how blessed I truly am. Even though we celebrated the holiday with just the three of us, we shared more love then some families can ever say they have. I'm beyond grateful that God has blessed me with a healthy/beautiful/silly daughter and that I have thee most amazing and supportive husband. There are many things that I want in life, but if my life were to stay just the way it is I would consider myself extremely blessed because of my two main squeezes. My life has so much love in it and I'm so grateful to my little family for filling up my heart so much that I sometimes wonder if it will burst when I look at them.
With that said, I hope everyone had a great Easter with their loved ones!
Hoppy Easter!!
