This week started off easy peasy [insert sarcasm here].
We went to Run Plus Fun with the Robbins fam:
Then I could not get my little munch to nap for the life of me so I tried to "scare" her by saying I was going to put her in her crib for her nap, since she hates being in there. Well, after not listening to my warning I figured I'd put her in her crib for a minute just so she knew I was serious. I set her in her crib, kissed her forehead, and told her it was nap time. She instantly started screaming so I walked into my room, which is right across the hall, to get Princess Teddy for her. To my surprise, I walked in her room to find her outside the crib, on the floor, and in the Spiderman position:
That is exactly how she looked, no joke. I didn't know whether to laugh or what...the look on her face was pure shock, like, "Oh my gosh, I can get out of this cage!" When Ed got home from work, Tenley kept pointing to her crib and wanting to go in it; which was extremely odd. We put her in so that we could maybe see how she got out. That little stinker grabbed her foot, lifted it up to the front of the crib and was about to jump ship again! What a little troublemaker we have:
Since we didn't anticipate switching her to a toddler bed for a few more months, we went to Babies R Us to order the rails; which to our surprise take 10-12 weeks to come in. Since we didn't want her to be climbing out of her crib and hurting herself we bought a bedrail and made a makeshift toddler bed in the meantime. Baby girl loved her new big girl bed and insisted that Pearl lay in it with her:
That night we heard a thud around midnight. When we went to check on her she was scurrying back into her big girl bed. She slept soundly until 6am when I noticed poor baby had came down with a cold so I brought her in my bed to sleep, like usual:
Despite her fall and cold, she still loved her bed and had fun showing me how to get in and out like a big girl:
Tenley was being such a goofball the next day and burped the word "bye":
(Please don't judge her mis-matched PJ's...it was a rough week!)
It was a typical day at our house on Thursday...Tenley was making a mess and relaxing while watching movies:
Then, she decided she was not going to nap; which is always so frustrating. To cheer myself up I got a mani/pedi and ate a ton of chocolate donuts:
(The cure for everything, right?!)
Tenley was just starting to feel better on Friday, but baby girl would not let me put her down so I vacuumed with her on my back:
When nap time came around she was so bubbly and did NOT want to nap, again:
I even gave her a few minutes to herself to calm down and came back to her making a fort with our pillows:
After that, I put her in her big girl bed and listened to her cry herself to sleep in our bedroom. It was horrible, but what else is an exhausted momma supposed to do so she doesn't loose her cool?! Thank God Amy texted me the entire time with funny emojis to help me laugh through the whole mess.
It was officially the weekend and I was beyond looking forward to having Ed around ALL day to help.
We went to Egg Works and Tenley was thrilled when they gave her a purple balloon:
Since she was feeling better we went to Town Square to play for a bit. Tenley did cartwheels on the lawn, chased the birdies, and had fun in the play area:
Hell must've frozen over that afternoon because Tenley Bear took a nap in her big girl bed:
(But woke up shortly after because she shit her pants.)
We broke out our awesome Steelers cornhole game for our BBQ with Fran and Matt...T couldn't contain herself:
Ed carried our sleepy girl on his back while playing:
What are the odds that Matt scored like this every time:
(Seriously? It happened like 3 times and we were dying.)
Tenley got SUPER good at climbing the stairs on her swing set, but of course she got clumsy when I started to film her:
We all laid down to watch Despicable Me on Sunday and all fell asleep. When I woke up I snapped a few pics of our "Family Nap Time":
Ed has now proclaimed 11am - 2pm on Saturdays and Sundays to be Family Nap Time and I'm totally ok with that!
After our nap, we headed to a new park and Tenley was unsure about their swings...she didn't know what to do with her hands:
I saw this funny picture on Facebook and just had to share it with everyone from Ohio that reads my blog:
(Seriously though, why do you guys still all live there? Come to where it's sunny!!)
Until next week! :)
