Monday morning started off super relaxing, I drank my morning coffee on the patio and watched bunnies hop around in the grass while the babes slept:
I was feeling very counterproductive that morning as I went from Pure Barre Youngstown to Chick-fil-a for breakfast (when in Rome, right?):
Just like their mommy, my littles loved having nuggets and waffle fries for breakfast (plus we had to rub it in daddy's face!):
After breakfast the kids went next door to walk the neighbor dog:
We headed to Uncle Ray's Monday afternoon for another pool day. The kids had so much fun and made so many memories with their family. Wes continued to be a uncle hog, while the girls swam their hearts out:
One of the best things about our trip was spending time with my niece and nephew. They are SO big now that it's insane to me. Seeing Chris and Jayla play with my kiddos and give them lovins was enough to turn me into mush:
The kids took a break from the water to snack and play on the patio:
The water really wore everyone out. I found these two snuggling on the couch while watching cartoons; Tenley did not want to leave Uncle Ray's side:
That evening we went to Grandma Cath's for dinner. The kids loved playing with all of her toys, swinging on her swing and running around in her very green backyard:
Being at my mom's house made me very sentimental. I loved watching them run around in the same backyard that I used to play in as a kid. Seeing them play tag, hide-n-seek and pick flowers was priceless:
We attempted a 4 generation pic, but the kids didn't want to participate:
We did get an updated picture with my mom and brothers, though:
The kids were such angels on the trip, until Monday night that is. Wes was over it and beyond exhausted. He couldn't decide where he wanted to sleep and was lashing out at anyone that came near him. After lots of threats and tears, I finally got him to calm down. He kept saying, "Okay, I know. Me need sweep." Then, as soon as he was about to dose off, Ev smacked his stomach and said, "HEY!" Luckily, I got her to leave him alone so we could all get some shut eye. They ended up pushing me out of bed early Tuesday morning, but I just wanted them to sleep so I didn't even mind:
We took it easy Tuesday morning and hung out at my in-laws while family came to say goodbye:
Tuesday dragged and the kids were ready to see their Daddy. They were wearing their backpacks and ready to go way before we even needed to leave:
Minutes after we started to drive to the airport the twins fell asleep; which couldn't have been more perfect:
My mom, aunt Jul and father-in-law all walked me into the airport to check the carseats and our bag. We were extremely sad to say goodbye to them (and Ohio, in general). Besides Wes' one tantrum, it was truly a perfect trip. We got to spend so much quality time with our family and make unforgettable memories with everyone. Now that I've done it once, I'm already thinking about when we'll do it again:
Turns out the Pittsburgh airport doesn't allow priority boarding to people who need assistance, like Las Vegas does, so I was kind of nervous about boarding with the C group. We ended up sitting in a row with a father and son who offered to entertain Tenley and allow her to look out their window (thank God for them!). The twins were such troopers! They loved looking out the window, playing games, coloring, doing flashcards and watching Disney Junior, while Tenley was across the aisle being a teenager on her iPad:
I had a migraine and was feeling nauseous all day so I was beyond relieved to see Ed at the end of our gate. I wasn't the only one excited...the second the kids spotted him they left me and all of our bags behind to run into his arms. It was the sweetest thing! His face was glowing and he was so happy to be holding them again. He said we're never allowed to leave him again because he missed us too much. It was apparent how much he missed the kids when we walked in the house because he had tons of surprises waiting for them:
(Don't worry my surprise is supposed to arrive next week!)
Tenley came down with a cough and had a fever Wednesday morning. I'm sure it was from all the traveling we did. Either way, they were little couch potatoes:
The twins even napped for the first time in weeks:
Jill was going through withdrawals already and requested a video from the kids:
Tenley got a second wind and played dress-up with her new Elena dress from Daddy:
The twins heard the trash man coming down the street and wanted to say "hello". When he stopped in front of our house he beeped the loud horn a few times and it made their day:
That afternoon Ev went M.I.A. and I found her asleep on T's bed. She never just falls asleep on her own so I knew she was coming down with whatever T had:
2 out of 3 kids were now sick. Both of them made their way into our bed at night and Wes had to show them up by coming in our bed at 3am and throwing up all over my side of the bed. Poor kid was on fire and couldn't get comfy with all of us jammed on one side so he left and passed out in Tenley's room:
Wes slept the entire morning away:
Once he was up, I took them all to the doc. Tenley requested the princess room and, of course, she got what she wanted:
The doc put Tenley on breathing treatments and an antibiotic for her cough. Since the twins weren't coughing (yet), she said they might just have a bug. She gave them all suckers for being so good; which really put smiles on their faces:
After the doc, Ev took a much needed nap:
Ed is on his 3rd week of working 6 10s. Although I wasn't clocking in at 5am, I was woken up by a determined Wes who wanted to watch TV on the couch. I gave in, despite my lack of sleep, and that boy fell asleep after 10 minutes of TV time:
Since the kids were a bit better and I've been on kid-overload, I got a babysitter Saturday morning so I could have some "me" time and my "me" time I mean going to Pure Barre, Costco and Vons. Going grocery shopping alone is actually a real treat. When Ed got home the kids were so excited to finally get some quality time with their daddy:
The kids are still feeling icky, but wanted out of the house. We had a few things we needed to return so we ran some errands. Towards the end they started to get weird. Tenley was passed out, Ev was stuffing her face with Wetzel's Pretzels and Wes was licking himself like a cat:
Our week may not have ended as well as it started, but it's great to be back home with Ed!! We're looking forward to feeling better so that we could see our BFFs that we miss so much!!
Until next time! :)
