Karina and I signed the girls up for swim lessons at the Black Mountain Rec Center. We figured we'd test it out for two weeks, then see about signing them up for swim school later and for only $31 we figured why not?! Welllllll, the first day went horribly for the girls; which is actually an understatement. The water was freezing (72 degrees) and hurt to be in, so our drama queens freaked. At least they had fun giving each other hugs and kisses after the torture:
Tenley was happy to be home after swim lessons...so happy that she did the splits, gave Pearl a back rub and loved on Minion Dave:
Tenley Bear had no problem with the bath water that night and made it clear that she wasn't getting out for bed:
Day 2 of swim lessons were cancelled due to the temperature of the water, so we hung out at home and had a tea party with T's favorite bears:
Ed took care of T that night so I could have a little break. They went shopping at Lowe's and had a messy yogurt snack:
Day 3 of swim lessons went much better since they heated the pool. Since Tenley was having a better day, we went to The District for some Panera mac n cheese, then went to Color Me Mine to make Daddy's Father's Day gift:
(She loved when I painted her hands for the lions head!)
The girls continued to do better in swim lessons and kept their hug fest going:
I made homemade pasta (Tenley's fav) and she licked the plate clean:
Our busy week really settled in and Tenley slept in until 9am, while I enjoyed the extra snuggles:
We met a bunch of our friends at Krispy Kreme for a doughnut date. I must say, I was never a fan of Krispy Kreme, but the staff was so funny and generous. (Shout out to Tyree!!!!) They gave all 10 of us a hot and gooey glazed doughnut to try, gave us all hats, and gave us an assorted dozen for a buck something since Chelsea brought in a tie for Father's Day. To top it off, they came to our table while we were munching and chatting and gave each mom a dozen glazed doughnuts in exchange for a picture of us all for their Doughnut Hall of Fame. How fun right?! We had a blast:
(Messiest doughnut eater EVER!!)
Lindsay and Isla came over to play after our doughnut date so the girls could tire each other out. After they left, T played in her room for a bit and was a total cheeseball:
Friday night I went to babysit Sofs while her parents had a fun night out and boy, oh boy is that little peanut just the easiest baby to babysit...just feed her dinner, give her a bath, dress her, put her in her crib, shut the door and you won't hear from her all night! I had fun pretending she was mine for the night and PRAY that if we have another baby it has Sofia's easy going and independent spirit.
We went to The Robbins garage sale Saturday morning to bring the kiddos cake pops. Then, I put her to work when we got home:
Ed and I ate something funky Saturday night and were both so sick! It was awful...mostly because T was feeling fine and had the energy of a fireball. Just to add to our fun filled night, Ed was cutting T strawberries and forgot that the knife was sitting on the dish towel and when he went to pick up the towel the knife fell and went through his big toe! What a night. While we were trying to rest on the couch, Tenley made everyone put on bibs:
Sunday was Father's Day!! Happy Father's Day to the best Daddy I know and to the man that I love more and more everyday:
We planned on celebrating Father's Day with some friends at the circus, but this is the only thing we were capable of doing:
Tenley played in her princess fort while we rested:
It was such a bummer that I didn't get to do something grand for Ed on Father's Day, but I know we will make up for it next year. Thanks again for sacrificing so much for our family, Ed. You are just the bees knees and we love you so much!
Until next week! :)
