It seems like just yesterday that we were celebrating Tenley's first birthday. Here we are 11 months later and baby girl will be TWO in just a month. Say whatttt! Where has the past year went? It really went by in the blink of an eye.
She now weighs 32 pounds and stands 36 inches tall. She has 18 teeth and has just 2 more of her 2 year old molars to cut threw. Once she gets those last 2 teeth I'm throwing a party because to say she's a horrible teether is a major understatement. She wears 3T tops, 2T bottoms and size 8 shoes. She weaned herself from nursing at 21 months and hasn't even cared about nursing since. She isn't quite a chatterbox yet, but she is starting to pick up on words a lot quicker now.
She is beyond attached to her "bubba", Princess Teddy, Smokey, Piglet, blankie and Minnie Mouse blanket. She loves to carry all of them around the house at the same time and insists on napping and sleeping with all of her loveys. Another thing that she is extremely attached to is my hair. She loves to twirl her fingers around the hair surrounding my face; which has caused my hair in that region to fall out. As hard as I try to tell her 'no' when she does it I always give in. I pretty much have a hard time telling her 'no' with everything. I know, I'm horrible.
She absolutely loves to be outside, except for when there are birds around. She always screams when she sees one, then gets happy and waves while saying, "byeeeee". She is obsessed with TV. Her favorite shows are Doc McStuffins, Sofia The First, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Super Why. She can literally watch movies ALL day, as long as you change it every 5 minutes and let her pick the movie each time (because she's the boss, duh!). She loves to dance and is always cracking us up with her funny dance moves; my favorite is when she gets low and shakes her tush. She isn't all girly girl though...she loves to get dirty and kick balls around at the park. I see many dance recitals and soccer games in her future.
She is still a total book worm, but especially loves to be read stories in her bed while laying under the covers at any time of day. She loves to play in her kitchen and cut up all her fruits and vegtables. She loves to dress up, but really loves dress up jewelry and shoes. She loves toys with functions- things she can button, light up, zip, take apart and put back together. She loves to shop (especially at The Gap and Old Navy). She grabs things off the table that she likes or will tell me "no!" to things that I pick out for her. She is one bossy diva, if you ask me.
She is really looking forward to being a big sister. When we ask her where her brother and sister are she lifts my shirt and kisses my belly- twice, of course. She does it out of nowhere, too. Just this past weekend Ed and I were trying to get Tenley to nap and she just refused. We were getting so frustrated, then she just picked up my shirt and started kissing my belly and saying "muah!" It just melted my heart. She is going to be so protective of the twins and such a great big sister!
I can't believe Tenley is almost TWO!! Tenley Bear has blossomed into this spunky, hilarious, demanding, bossy, beautiful little lady. She is absolutely fearless, loves to be outside and always cracks the biggest smiles:
It's so sad to watch her grow soooo quickly, but each day is such an adventure and I couldn't imagine our lives without her. She has been such a joy to raise and I can't wait to see what the next year has in store for her.
Happy almost second birthday, Tenley Bear!!
