Weekly Update

My little princess is obsessed with playing dress up, it is literally the very first thing she does every morning:

I had my FINAL prenatal appointment Tuesday afternoon. I was extremely nervous for this appointment because my Doc was going to do an amniocentesis to check the babies lung maturity. I made sure to give Tenley lots of kisses before I left to meet Ed just in case they sent me right to the hospital:

The amnio wasn't too terrible. It only hurt afterwards and made my stomach very sore and crampy for about 20 minutes, but other then that it wasn't bad. The amnio was completed at around 2pm and we were told it could possibly take over 6 hours to get the results. We were on pins and needles waiting for the results that night because if the babies lungs weren't over a 2.5 then we wouldn't be meeting the babies tomorrow. My nurse, Becky, called me around 8pm and told me that the amnio came in at over 3.5 so we were all good for tomorrows c-section. We were literally jumping for joy!

While we were at our appointment, Tenley took a long nap with all of her friends:

The day had finally arrived and everyone was excited. Chelsea texted me this pic to get me pumped up:
(If you know me, you know that Paul Wesley a.k.a. Stefan Salvatore is my second future husband. He was also my inspiration for the name Wesley. So thanks for being so hott and getting me pumped for my big day, Paul!!)

My Mom, Aunt Donna, Aunt Julie and Grammy had a party in Ohio as they waited for the twins arrival:

Everly Jean and Wesley Edward finally made their debut on Wednesday, January 8th!!

The next day was kind of a whirlwind. The babies lost 10% of their body weight and I was having trouble getting Wes to latch properly. I kept with it and the lactation consultant said she wasn't worried about it because when he would latch he was swallowing perfectly. Our pediatrician said they probably lost a lot of weight due to the amount of poops they had on the first day- 12 each! The babies are beyond peaceful, they nursed and slept the entire day away:

Later that afternoon, Grammy and Tenley came to visit. Tenley gave the babies kisses and had fun running around the halls while we took the babies for a walk:

Grammy stayed home with Tenley on Friday since we weren't going to be at the hospital much longer:

We spent the morning cuddling the babies before getting released:

Tenley and Pearl were excited to finally have the babies home:

Grandpa got in around 4pm and headed right over to see the babies:

As soon as T woke up on Saturday she was asking to see the babies:

We spent the entire morning cuddling our little sleepy heads:

My niece came over later that night to visit the babies and Tenley was beyond excited to play with her since the babies only sleep these days:

My in-laws brought us breakfast from our favorite spot, Egg Works, on Sunday morning. After breakfast, we got dressed and ventured out of the house for our first outing with all 3 kiddos:

Wes finally had his eyes open for a few minutes:

Tenley has been boycotting nap time since the twins were born. The exhaustion was getting to her and she passed out on the couch Sunday night while wearing her Princess necklaces and Cinderella purse, of course:

This week was so surreal and so full of love. I'd often find myself smiling for no reason. While Ed and I were carrying the twins into our room I just looked at him and said, "I love our life!" It's so true. We're just on cloud 9 and I couldn't be happier!

Thanks to everyone who prayed for us and sent us kind wishes. We are truly blessed to have such amazing people in our lives!

Until next week! :)
