For once, we had a cold AND rainy day here and the kids finally got to wear some warmer clothes:
This week at school they're learning all about fall and reviewing everything they've learned so far:
Evie likes to roam around her room at night before passing out. She's recently been passing out in front of the door and now she's been recruiting her brother in her naughty ways. Ed and I couldn't help but laugh when we watched them lay in the exact same position in front of the door. Wes passed out on the floor and Ev eventually made her way up in the rocking chair where she fell asleep rocking herself:
Tenley dressed Evie in her old tutu and played "Dance Teacher". She had me cracking up:
Wes wasn't into dancing at all. He was so cranky and having a really rough day:
Evie fell asleep in front of the door Tuesday night and Ed had to poke his hands under the door to nudge her out of the way so he could put her into her bed before we went to bed:
Tenley worked on numbers at school and it's safe to say we need to keep practicing:
Ev didn't nap on Tuesday so I was very grateful that the twins napped so peacefully together on Wednesday:
The twins turned 21 months old on Thursday and we celebrated by playing outside with the Venturino gals:
Ev kept waking up during her nap Thursday afternoon and wanted to cuddle with me. I don't mind one bit because she is so sweet and looked so angelic:
That night, Ev was back to sleeping in front of the door before we relocated her to her bed:
Tenley made this masterpiece at school on Friday:
Friday afternoon we had our yearly family pictures with Jasmyn. We were so excited to see her because she recently relocated to Hawaii, but will be back in town a lot for her photography because she does lots of weddings and her whole family lives here. She was here for over 2 weeks so we booked her as soon as we found out! She won't be back home until the 19th so I'll have more pictures to share when she is settled back in Hawaii. Here are some previews of Jasmyn's amazing talent:
I made the kid's these ridiculously cute "nest eggs" for breakfast and they were a big hit:
Tenley woke up with a cold Saturday; which meant no dance. She wasn't too happy about it so we cheered her up with an Oreo (and the twins had their first Oreo, too!):
Since Tenley was sick we decided on grilled cheese with a twist and tomato soup. I bought dough from Vons, rolled it out, brushed it with EVOO, sprinkled it with sea salt, sprinkled it with shredded cheddar, put down a layer of ham, repeat, fold the dough and seal it shut, brush the top with melted butter, poke holes in top and cook on 375 for about 25-30 minutes. I served it with dill pickles and the kids loved dipping their ham and cheese wraps in their tomato soup:
Even though it was so dang hot outside, I was dreaming of Fall so I whipped up some pumpkin chocolate chip cookies and made way too many:
Karina's cousin, Jessica, through Karina and baby Valentina a celebration at Karina's favorite coffee place, Grouchy John's, and it was the perfect little get together. We chatted, laughed and showered the beautiful momma with special gifts just for baby ViVi:
(Congrats Venturinos!! We can't wait to meet your newest little peanut and love her already!! Love you!!)
Sweet baby Sailor was also at the shower and she was showing me how she was standing up like a big girl and trying to take steps already:
The twins jumped on the cold-train Sunday so we now have 3 sick kiddos in the house. After the shower we broke out the Thomas train track; which really made them happy. Tenley must've been getting cabin fever because she decided to dress herself and put on a show for me:
Until next time! :)
