Tenley had a really high fever throughout the night so she stayed home from school on Monday. The kids were extra lovey and played dress-up so nicely together; which was a nice change for once:
That afternoon I was seeing Tenley's adorable friend's school pictures on Facebook and was so sad that we missed out on getting her school pictures back. I couldn't stand to wait so I had Ed pick them up on the way home from work and I'm so glad I did because they were adorable:
I thought Tenley's fever of 102.8 was behind us, but it was still going strong on Tuesday. It was the most bizarre thing because besides her fever and random complaints of her head hurting, she was acting like her normal cray-cray self:
Tenley's fever finally broke Tuesday afternoon, but came back at bedtime. I was just so dumbfounded by this. Since I couldn't get ahold of her Doctor's office Tuesday I made sure I called first thing Wednesday morning. Luckily, I got an appointment right away. This time her usual ped, Dr. Vu, saw her and immediately said she had walking pneumonia after talking to her and listening to her lungs. I'm wondering if the nurse practitioner that saw her last week missed it? Since she had that awful cough a week ago she's been her happy self so thank God for the fever or else I would've never known to take her back in. The doc said her lungs sounded like leaves crinkling together. I'm so glad she was able to see the doc, get on an antibiotic and get back to normal, finally:
After the docs, I got the twins down for their nap and planned on baking for Thanksgiving. Although we weren't planning on going to Lindsay's anymore (whomp, whomp, whomp), I still planned on baking them apple pie, pumpkin pie and pumpkin chocolate chip cookies, but the kids had other plans. Ev woke up every 10 minutes to nurse until I just gave up and recruited her and Tenley as my little helpers. It took me from 12-8pm to bake 3 pies, cookies and shower. It was exhausting, but so worth it:
After constantly calling/texting each other in tears because both Tenley and Isla were both sick now, we decided to say eff it and celebrate together anyways. Linds and I never stood a chance being separated on Thanksgiving so all was right in the world when we knew we'd be celebrating/germin' it up together!
The kids woke up in great moods Thanksgiving morning and even "watched" the parade with Grammy and Pop Pop:
Ev napped later in the afternoon while T and Wes acted a fool:
Before heading to the Rices we snapped a family selfie and I couldn't be more thankful for all of these faces in this picture:
Our Thanksgiving at the Rices couldn't have been more fun and delicious! I'm beyond thankful to have a sister friend who is definitely family to all of us and I'm so appreciative that her family is always so loving and welcomes us with open arms. They are all such good people and we are lucky to have them. Also, I bet you no other vegetarian could cook a bird like Lindsay. She goes all out and I'm so happy we were able to be there again this year:
Ev decided to rearrange the ornaments Friday morning, while T was feeling all lovey dovey:
Our heat quit working on Thanksgiving, but handy man Ed decided it was the thermostat so he installed a new one Friday morning with his little helper, Ev:
We went to see 'The Good Dinosaur' Friday night and it was so stinkin' cute! All the kids loved it. Wes said, "bay-bee" the entire time and now Tenley is dead set on making sure he gets dinosaurs for Christmas. It was such a fun family date night:
While Ed put up Christmas lights Saturday, the kids and I played outside and semi-"helped":
With Thanksgiving behind us, I finally decorated the rest of the inside and hung the kid's stockings (my favorite part of Christmas). This is the first year that we are actually able to hang them on the fireplace because I have hopes that the kids will listen when I tell them to get their grubby paws off of GiGi's masterpieces:
That night I finally convinced Ed to turn on our fireplace for the first time since living there for almost 5 years! He was so scared of it burning the flatscreen, but I was more interested in it warming my feetsies. For once it felt like Christmas and reminded me of my childhood:
We had such a rambunctious, but yet relaxing Sunday:
Until next time! :)
