Weekly Update

Our Christmas cards should be arriving in your mailboxes and I hope they bring you all a little Holiday cheer:

While T was at school, the twins and I had some shopping to do at the Galleria. They were so excited when they spotted Santa. I wasn't brave enough to let them take a picture with him though because I knew I wouldn't be able to get them back in the stroller afterwards. So they waved and blew him kisses instead:

The twins started to become cranky after waiting in line at Kohl's for what seemed like forever, then right before it was almost our turn to checkout I noticed one of Wes' Star Wars socks had pink all over it so I ran to get another set. As soon as I got back to the register an older lady was hopping in the line and I immediately thought, "GREAT!" Then, after she was done checking out she handed me the Kohl's cash that she just earned and said, "I'm done with my Christmas shopping now so Merry Christmas!" and smiled at me. I was in shock! It was the nicest thing a stranger has ever done for me and I immediately thanked her uncontrollably. It was such a blessing because the whole time I waited in line I stood there with stay-at-home-mom guilt, the "oh I should't buy this for the kid's because I don't make any money." It was the sweetest gift because everything I bought for Christmas ended up costing only $4.84! So much thanks to that sweet lady- you rock! The kids (mostly Wes) are going to be so happy:

Tenley learned about the letter 'S' at school and made this adorable stocking:

Ev woke up on Tuesday with a slight runny nose, but I assumed it was from her pesky canines that seem to be taunting us. We had plans with the Medrano crew and they still wanted to hang despite Ev's runny nose and thank goodness because we spent Tuesday morning at Fun Lane Indoor Play and had a blast:

Tuesday also marked the twins 23rd month birthday and I can not believe that they are going to be 1 in just a month. I must be in complete denial because the only thing I have planned for it is the theme and invites. They're going through the phase of being such a handful that I literally only have time to do anything when they are asleep. They are complete opposites in so many ways, but the bond that they share will forever melt my heart:

Ev is still having such a rough time at night. I swear she used to never make a peep and now she is terrorizing the whole house at night. It's hard to keep your cool when you're so exhausted and it's been going on for so long, but I keep telling myself her teeth are coming in and she is in pain. They are only little once, right? Poor thing would've slept all morning since she was up most of the night, but I eventually had to wake little Sleeping Beauty up:

Tenley learned about the number '10' at school on Wednesday:

The twins napped right when we got home from picking T up from school and they were knocked out:

Evie's runny nose turned into a cough; which also spread to Wes. On Thursday it began to sound wheezy and just awful so I called their pediatrician and brought them right in. Since they had RSV at 6 weeks old their lungs are much weaker and the average cough is much worse for them. I didn't want it to get worse over the weekend and get stuck having to take them to the ER. The doc prescribed them an oral steroid and breathing treatments, again. The kids didn't mind seeing the doc because they knew it meant check-ups and lollipops:

That night was probably the worst night Ev had. I tried rocking her, reading to her, laying next to her crib, pretty much everything. It's just hard because then Wes begins to cry because he wants attention and I can't reach him. Me being in the room just makes it worse so I left and she cried some more, then crawled into Wes' bed for the first time:

I thought that might have been the key, but with all the stuffed animals Wes has in his bed they were bumping into each other every second and Wes was getting upset so Ev began to cry again. I try to let Ed sleep since he gets up early for work, but this night was an exception because Ev was banging her head on the door, closet and walls. We tried rocking them both, but it only made things worse. I gave up at 12:30am and said, "Eff it! Let's bring them in our bed. I'm too tired for this shit!" Can teething really be this awful? Can I just cut the gum myself? We tried everything else. The poor girl...

In the flip side...Tenley has been the sweetest girl recently! On Friday she made a Santa at school and was so excited about it:

On Friday night we took the kids to one of our favorite neighborhoods, Quiver Point, to see the Christmas lights and they loved all the Disney themed houses:

Tenley and I went to Target before dance class and she saw a massive "Dark Vader" so we spent the entire morning running from him. We had a really close encounter with him while walking into the dance studio and Tenley had to bust out some moves. Who knew this little Princess would love Star Wars so much:

Tenley had a really good dance class Saturday morning. She actually listened and was really into it. They learned a lot of new things since they weren't focusing on their winter recital and she loved the change of pace. Her friend from school does gymnastics and she's been asking to do it so she especially loved when they practiced some gymnastics moves on the mat:

We went down to Water Street to see Henderson's Winterfest Parade:

(This was a group of ladies, ranging in age from 65-85, called the 'Silverado Hunnies' and Tenley said Grammy could join this group when she moves here!)

(Wes freaked out when he saw Mickey and looked for him the rest of the night.)

(This is the high school we are zoned for, Foothill, and they have the largest band in NV and they were in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Pretty cool since my high school had like 10 people in their band!)

After we had our parade fix, we went to the festival area and went on the carousel and ferris wheel. We all had such a blast together and I couldn't love my little fam any more:

We were desperate for a night without screaming so I decided to nurse the babes before reading them their bedtime story. It seemed to help a little bit because Ev didn't cry for hours before falling asleep in front of her door. Instead she quietly fell asleep in front of her door until about 5am when she started crying for me to come get her; which in my opinion is an improvement. She was very content with sleeping in in our bed:

We wanted to take the kids on the Pajama and Cookies Santa Train, but tickets sold out so quickly. Luckily, I never mentioned it to Tenley or she would've been bummed. Instead we surprised the kids with tickets to the Santa Train in Boulder City Sunday morning and just dressed them in pajamas anyways. When we pulled up to the train station Tenley was giddy and said, "Mommy! Mommy! Can we please ride that big train?!" Then when she found out Santa was going to be on the train she was completely mind blown. We had a blast doing something new and the kids (minus Wes) loved getting to see Santa, again:

I went Christmas shopping with Linds and Sailor Sunday afternoon and we had so much fun without our rambunctious little ones, although Sailor didn't find our antics humorous:

I nursed the babes before story time again and for the first time in three weeks Ev didn't sleep in front of her door!! It's a Christmas miracle, folks:

Parenting is exhausting, but so worth it!!

Until next time! :)
