Weekly Update

Although Ed put a new thermostat in last week, our heat decided to quit Sunday night and it was fa-reezing in our house Monday morning. Ev seemed to enjoy the heat not working because she came in my bed extra early to sleep in late while Wes couldn't get over his cold, blue lips:

The twins and I bundled up as the repair man looked at the heat while Tenley was off at school learning about the letter 'B':

Apparently the repair guy left our side gate wide open because that afternoon I let Pearl out, then got side tracked and didn't think anything of it when I didn't hear her barking for me to let her right in. Shortly after I received a phone call from a man who found her running up and down Greenway and it just so happened that it was our awesome neighbor, Tony, from across the street. Ed ran right over to Tony's to get Pearl and everyone was so happy that Pearl was home safe! Ev kept giving her hugs and Wes insisted on doing the Mickey Mouse March to celebrate:

After that fiasco, I had to take Tenley to her winter recital rehearsal. We weren't allowed to watch, but Ms. Cherity said Tenley would be good for the performances Friday and Saturday. On the way home, Tenley was super excited about the Christmas lights at the "dinosaur house":

Wes napped like a typical boy on Tuesday, but still managed to look so sweet while checking his junk:

Wes and Tenley marked all the things they wanted in the Toys 'R' Us magazine:

We made chocolate chip cookies for our neighbor, Tony, for bringing Pearl home safe and the kids loved helping (even though the chaos made me forget to add the brown sugar...whoops!):

Ev kept us up two nights in a row. Girlfriend is getting her molars and letting everyone know it...well, mostly me. She screams and kicks her door from about 8pm to 10pm, them weasels her way into my bed at 4am to nurse non-stop. Needless to say, she has it rough:

Tenley learned about the number '9' at school on Wednesday:

We went to meet Santa at Town Square and Tenley was so excited! She ran right up to him and began to talk to him. We thought Ev would be scared of him, but she was very interested in him and kept starring at his face. Wes was into him at first, but didn't like when Ed put him on his lap. Wes warmed up after a bit and we managed to get 1 picture of them all looking. Tenley got to talk to Santa for a few minutes after and she made sure to tell Santa that she's been a very good girl and wanted a Limited Edition Aurora from Disneyland, the 60th Anniversary Aurora Castle and that Wessie wanted Mickey's train. When Santa asked what her sister wanted Evie pointed at Santa and Tenley screamed, "YOU!" It was a very successful visit with Santa:

Wes even got an early gift from Santa for pulling it together- a plush Donald Duck:

The Venturino gals came over Thursday morning and I got in some baby cuddles with baby Tina; which totally had me melting:

The girls were such ladies while eating dinner:

Ev was at it again Thursday night. After 3 nights of this crap I can't help but laugh at her:

I've tried to calm her in every which way, but nothing helped. Poor Wes just cries in his bed because he is so dang tired. Some nights he'll give in and even join her and sleep on the floor all night, too:

The kids looked so cute Friday morning and were full of smiles before Tenley headed off to school:

While Tenley was at school, the twins and I went to Target to get a few things and see what they could add to their Christmas lists:

After our errands, we played outside and enjoyed the nice weather:

The kids were so good at Target and listened so well while we were outside, so I treated them to their favorite treat- lollipops:

Tenley was pretty stoked about the pinecone she got at school and the squirrel she made, too:

Tenley had her winter recital, 'Flakes', Friday night and was so excited about it. Before leaving I snapped some pics of her and couldn't believe how grown up she looked! Ev was more than happy to take a picture with her, but Wes wasn't into it:

Isla and Tenley could hardly wait to get away from all of us as we waited for the show to begin:

Evie really loves Lindsay's dad, Lou, and chose to sit on his lap during the performances. They danced and she copied all the hand motions of the dancers- they had a blast together:

Finally it was time for the "theatre" part of the show and the girls opened 'Flakes' with "Let it Snow":

Then the girls came back out to take a bow:

I'm so proud of these girls!! Tenley missed so many classes this fall due to being sick that she only had 1 class and the rehearsal to learn the dance, but was still brave enough to go out there and have fun; which make me so proud! And sweet little Isla used to be the shiest little thing and now she loves to go out and dance in front of all these people!! I'm so proud of the sweet, brave girls that they are becoming:

Dance class didn't stop for the winter recitals and the girls danced their little hearts out Saturday morning at class:

That afternoon I got Tenley ready for the second showing of 'Flakes'. Since it was during the twins nap and we all saw it the night before, we made this show a "mommy-daughter date". Before leaving we snapped a few pics of Ed and I with T since the babes were asleep:

(She was a little too excited about her glitter eyeshadow, obvi.)

Saturdays performance went about the same as Fridays, but this time Tenley was a lot more visible:

And of course she got showered with flowers from us and the Rices:

After dinner that night Tenley asked to listen to Adele while I cleaned up. When 'Hello' came on she said, "this is my song!" and I caught her belting it out:

Ev continued her nightly antics and started taking it up a notch. She started banging on her closet doors, ripping out clothes and demanding new ones:

At least she's a happy camper during the day and just demands things like smelling flowers at the grocery store:

We had a relaxing time at the Espejos Sunday night. Courtney made a delicious pot of chili and broke out the fondue pot for fruit and peanut butter cookies. The kids played so sweetly together and it was such a great way to end such a busy weekend:

Until next time! :)
