The weather was b-e-a-utiful on Monday so I took the twins to their favorite park while Tenley was in school. They love to walk hand-in-hand as they search for bunnies, "munks" (chipmunks) and perfect pebble rocks:
As they walked they were perfectly in-step and it melted my heart:
After spotting a bunny and tons of munks, we walked to the play area to run a muck:
They have this little counter area in the shade and the kids made me all kinds of goodies- cake, cookies and pizza. I could not stop cracking up at their cuteness:
We played at the park until it was time to pick up Tenley Bear. This week they're focusing on the letter 'Q':
While doing laundry, Ev stole my new sticky socks and looked so silly wearing them:
Of course, T was jealous that I snapped pics of Ev and had to get in on the action:
I attempted naps with the kids and it turned into a cuddle sesh with Pearl. Pearl was sweet enough to nap with Wes the whole time:
While Tenley was at school, the twins got some fresh air:
(Pic of Pop Pop, of course.)
Ev rode T's scooter around and was so proud of herself. Every time she pushed herself she had to stop and make sure I saw. It was the cutest thing and I hope she yells "MOM-MEE" like this forever:
When it was time to go in, Wes was trying to get Ev inside by yelling, "Ev! Side! Now!" He eventually sweet talked her into coming inside:
In addition to the letter 'Q', Tenley is also learning about 'Life Under the Sea' and made a pretty mean looking shark:
The twins have been trading off with their naps or not napping at all. Today was Wes' turn to nap while Ev got snuggles:
When Ed got home from work I was on the ground coloring with the kids and he slid the most beautiful white box my way. It was the rose gold Apple watch with black straps that I have been wanting. I was geekin' out and had to open it right away:
(You da best, Ed!)
I didn't get to test it out at Pure Barre since T had basketball practice at 6pm. If I'm going to miss class, at least I got to hang with these goofballs:
We spent Thursday morning at the Venturinos and baby Tina was wearing one of Ev's old outfits. Seeing that sweet chunk in Ev's outfit brought back such sweet memories:
After our playdate, it was Ev's turn to nap before I put the kids to work in the kitchen:
The weather was super gloomy Friday morning and Tenley insisted on wearing this fur sweater from Grandma Cath. She loves picking out her outfits and this one actually came out super cute, but was a bit much for school if you ask me:
Tenley had a good day at school. She really loved the sparkles on her 'Rainbow Fish' and wouldn't stop talking about the picture she drew of her and Addy:
By some odd miracle I got the twins to nap simultaneously. First I cuddled Wes to sleep, then Ev and was terrified to move:
Since the twins have been skipping naps, I've been behind on house work and prepping dinners. While they napped, I got the zucchini and carrots cleaned and cut for dinner, then made Mason his favorite cookies for his 30th birthday. It took everything I had to not eat them all:
I went to Pure Barre with Erin Friday afternoon and it kicked my butt. We were both dripping in sweat and I loved every second of it (and my watch):
We were up and at it early Saturday morning for T's first basketball game. Ev was super excited and was waiting by the door before it was time to go:
Tenley was so excited for her game. When I was putting her hair in a ponytail I said to Ed, "I feel like I'm getting myself ready for my first game." Memories of getting ready for my games and that feeling of nerves before a big game rushed through me. It was so emotional for me! I can't believe my baby is playing a sport:
When we walked in the girls got even more excited as we sized up the competition:
We warmed up and got the kids pumped:
We went into it feeling we had it "in the bag" since the blue team only had 3 players and were shorter than our shortest girl. It wasn't long before Jacob scored our first point. The girls were so excited to be cheering on their team as they waited to go in next:
Tenley played in the second quarter and actually tried to score twice. I was so proud of her! Unfortunately, the blue teams star player showed up and served the kids up. He was so cute calling plays, dribbling like a pro and shooting like it was his job. Mini-Lebron really gave us a whoopin':
We may have lost, but I couldn't be more proud of those kids for trying their best! They had so much fun as a team and that is what really matters.
After basketball, we headed right to the dance studio so Tenley didn't miss class:
When we got home it really started to storm and the hail piled up by the slide and corners of the wall. It was so peaceful:
Tenley and I attempted a selfie before heading off to Mason's surprise Dirty Thirty party:
Linds, being the awesome wife that she is, rented out Boulder Bowl for Mase's surprise party and it couldn't have been more perfect. She secretly got most of his family and friends in from out of town without him knowing. We set up all the delicious food and anxiously waited for him to arrive:
When he arrived for Isla's "homeschool science fair party" he was so shocked:
Tenley made Mase open his presents right away (because she wanted to ask him if he'd share a cookie with her):
The party was perfect in every way! The kids had a blast bowling together and eating way too much chocolate:
(Happy 30th birthday, Mason!!)
Tenley was obsessed with this gorilla she noticed as we walked to our car:
It rained ALL day and we even spotted a double rainbow as we pulled onto our street:
Tenley got sick in the middle of the night from eating too much chocolate. I made her lay on the couch since Isla's birthday party was only a few hours away. She didn't mind relaxing because she cuddled up with Pearl:
Luckily, she was acting completely normal and wasn't going to let us keep her from Isla's birthday party over a little chocolate. The kids had so much fun planting flowers and eating more cake (not Tenley, though):
(Happy birthday, sweet girl!! We love you to pieces!!)
We were so exhausted from our busy weekend that we vegged on the couch all afternoon. Wes fell asleep on Daddy and Ev fell asleep on my chest. It was wonderful:
Tenley got bored "relaxing" in her room and joined the fun:
What a busy week! Until next time! :)
