Tenley was back to school on Monday and they learned about gardening and the letter 'D':
Grammy and Pop Pop came over when the kids were supposed to be napping, but they just couldn't nap because the suspense of seeing them soon was just too much. Instead of napping, the kiddos had a second lunch and my little pierogie boy stole all of Grammy's pierogies:
My sister-in-law cooked dinner for everyone and sleepy Wes couldn't keep his eyes open on the way there:
After dinner we had to say good bye to my in-laws and the kids were not happy. They screamed and shed crocodile tears the entire way home:
My in-laws trip was short and no one was ready to say good bye yet. The next time they come here they'll be welcoming their fifth and final grand baby so we are really looking forward to that! Until then, I know these kids are going to be missing them like crazy.
I had to get the kids out of the house Tuesday to keep them from being down in the dumps, so we met our friends at Fun Lane Indoor Play and the kids had a blast:
The kids were played-out and I finally got both twins to nap simultaneously, again:
Sandi got the kids gift cards to Barnes and Noble for Easter; which was perfect because the kids could read books ALL day! While T was at school on Wednesday I took the kids for a little book shopping. Tenley strictly told me to get her 'Zootopia' and 'Peppa Pig' books (her favorite things this minute) with her gift card, Wes picked out Paw Patrol and Nemo books and Evie insisted on picking out a purple unicorn that she's slept with ever since. They had so much fun playing with the toys and reading books together. I really enjoy my time with just the two of them because they are so good when their rambunctious big sis isn't around:
(Thanks so much, Sandi and Lou!!)
On our way to pick Tenley up from school, Wes practiced his A,B,C's and numbers (Ev participated a little bit, but could kind of careless):
(I promise you I was driving safely and was looking at the road while I recorded.)
When we picked Tenley up, Mrs. Linda said that Tenley did really well on her number garden:
That afternoon, Tenley made a few small gifts for Isla's birthday. She made her Belle and Donald Duck bracelets and wrote to Isla in a book, 'We Are Best Friends':
At basketball that evening, Tenley couldn't hold back her excitement that Isla's birthday was just one day away:
We went to the Rices Thursday morning so Tenley could give the sweet birthday girl the gifts she made her:
(Happy 4th birthday, Isla!! We love you so, SO much!!)
The kids were tired after their play date and my heart literally exploded when Tenley took it upon herself to snuggle Wes to sleep! When I noticed that she had put Wessie to sleep I gave her a 'thumbs up' and she beamed with pride:
Little Evie looked so sweet in her new Princess Jasmine PJ's from Grandma Cath:
(Thanks, Grandma Cath!!)
Wes had such a rough night and would not let us leave his side because he missed Pop Pop. He kept saying, "Misssss...Hugsss...Kisssss..." and yelling, "Pop Pop work! Mad! Pop Pop got (gone)!" Seeing the tears fall down his cheeks was truly heartbreaking. We sat next to his bed until he fell asleep, but he still randomly cried throughout the night. In the morning, Ed found him sleeping like this:
The kids had their first Dentist appointment Friday morning. Tenley and Ev absolutely loved it, but Wes was a little timid. The twins teeth were perfect, but unfortunately Tenley's teeth weren't so perfect. Although she brushes twice a day and randomly flosses (flossing scares her because I used those floss pics on her and she thought it hurt) her beautiful teeth, she has one tooth that is showing signs of decay so they want her to come back to sedate her and fill the decayed area. Since I've never had a cavity or filling, I'm not sure how I feel about it yet and she has no clue either. For the next week or two, I'll keep her remembering how much fun she had there:
The dentist took longer than expected so Tenley missed school. They planted vegetables at school that day so I felt like the worst mom ever. To make up for it, we took the kids for a bike ride since it was so nice outside:
The kids didn't nap; it's really been hit or miss these days, so this is how our car ride to buy Isla's birthday present went:
While shopping Tenley had to get a Nick Wilde plush doll, but Wes stole it from her and refused to give it back. Wes kept saying Pop Pop when he looked at Nick and we figured it reminded him of Pop Pop since he sat next to him at the movie. When we put him to bed that night we told him to give the fox a kiss when he felt sad. It worked wonders and when we left the room we could hear him kissing away. He got a good nights sleep and became inseparable with Nick Wilde:
After dance, grocery shopping and a delicious dinner, we played in the backyard in our PJ's (because it was one of those days):
(When I tried dressing him in the morning he insisted on putting his clothes over his PJ pants. That's when I gave up on getting anyone dressed.)
(Tenley claimed the Jasmine PJ's since they were "too big" on Ev.)
Thanks to Crayola drawing instructions, Tenley drew Anna and Elsa and I drew the Hulk and Olaf:
(Ev was so impressed that she couldn't stop hugging and kissing Olaf.)
Isla's birthday party was cancelled because she was sick and after playing outside Saturday night Tenley coughed all night. Allergies have been a real you know what for the kids. Tenley coughed so much that she broke some blood vessels under her eyes (just like her daddy):
Since she was feeling blah from her allergies, we kept it simple Sunday. On a lighter note, I'll leave you with this:
Until next week! :)
