I kicked off Independence Day at Pure Barre for a little LTB before the BBQ'ing began. It was my 20th class in 20 days so it felt good to keep up the momentum:
My mom and in-laws watched the Struthers 4th of July parade together and the kids were obsessing over the pic Grandma Cath texted me:
(Miss these 3 SO much!!)
We spent our morning at "Grandma Pat's" for the 4th of July. The kids had a blast swimming, practicing their cannon balls, jet skiing and blasting each other with water balloons:
The kids were smitten with all of Pat's cool toys. They goofed off while us adults chowed down on Harris' delicious BBQ food:
(This pic cracks me up. I couldn't love these kids any more! Thanks for having us Pat and Harris!)
We headed to Mission Hills Park for their firework show that night. The kids loved the live band and were dancing machines:
This was the kids first time seeing big fireworks up close and they were absolutely mesmerized! Ev kept standing and yelling, "BIIIG! Fi-yah!" We all shared a blanket, bag of popcorn and enjoyed the spectacular view:
The kids didn't go to bed until about 11pm and were exhausted. I woke up around 7am and was confused because no one woke me up yet. I headed to the kitchen in hopes to make my coffee and enjoy it in peace. While making my way to the kitchen, I found Tenley passed out on the couch with my clean pile of clothes from the night before:
Once everyone finally woke up, they were in great moods and insisted on getting tatted up with the tattoos from Alena's birthday party:
We spent Tuesday morning swimming at the Poes and the kids had so much fun jumping in and playing with their pals:
The kids were super lovey dovey Wednesday morning and looked adorable in their Rags:
We had a play date at the Luk's house and the kids had so much fun playing with all of their awesome toys. Wes and Hudson hit it off at Alena's birthday and Wes was obsessed with all of his boy toys and Ev especially liked all the new dress-up clothes:
The kids "interviewed" a potential babysitter Thursday morning and LOVED her. When she left the house Tenley said, "I think I love her too much, mommy." After meeting the perfect sitter, the kids were pooped! I even got to rock Ev to sleep; which never happens these days so I was in heaven:
Of course, someone always has to cut in on my snuggle time:
I took my 91st Pure Barre class Thursday evening and was stoked when I saw my name on the 'Road to 100' chalkboard:
I gave the kids a bath Friday morning since we made plans for the babysitter to come over after bed time. The kids love morning baths and there is something about them that puts a smile on my face:
Wes was so relaxed after his bubble bath that he went down easily for a nap:
I don't consider leaving the kids with my mother-in-law as going out "with a sitter" because it's practically like staying home with them myself. I had no fear with her, but this time I was nervous! We put the kids to bed, Tenley gave the babysitter kisses and told her she loved her (such a weirdo), then we were off to meet our friends at Top Golf:
(The face you make when you realize you're old because you have a babysitter.)
Court left the older girls at home and brought Perry along to golf. I got to snuggle her and rock her to sleep before golfing and it seriously hurt my ovaries. She slept the whole time, while we had such a good time (she really missed out on the fun):
Ed enjoyed having some competition on the green with Isaac and Alex, while I enjoyed having girlfriends to share my margarita with:
Katie did awesome with the kids and everyone was alive so I think we'll be doing this often! The kids were so excited to see us that they woke up super early and ready to go:
The kids skipped their nap since they missed us so much. Poor Wes was so tired that he fell asleep on our way to Barnes and Noble:
Wes quickly woke up and was ready to perform on the reading stage:
Tenley was so excited to use the gift card the Rices gave her as a recital present. She was constantly swapping things out because I told her she couldn't go over. She settled on a calendar (to count down to her birthday), 2 shopkins and the 'Finding Dory' Guess Who game:
(Thanks guys!!)
The twins have been doing so good on the potty that I treated them with "coo-keys" (Ev's fav) Sunday morning:
We wanted to get out with the kids, so we took them to Reunion Trails since we've yet to go there this summer. I don't know why we forgot about this splash pad because it is seriously the best and the kids had a ball:
Until next time! :)
