The twins had ring pops for breakfast because grammy is here, duh:
Tenley learned about the letter 'f' and made an adorable 'f' fish at school on Moday:
School couldn't go fast enough for Tenley because she couldn't wait to play with her new crystallizer with Grammy:
The twins woke up around 5:30am on Tuesday, while Tenley was dead to the world until I had to wake her up:
While the twins were in school on Tuesday, Tenley got a surprise package from her Great Aunt Julie. Aunt Julie is a beautician and Tenley loves to do hair so she sent her the perfect birthday gift that has really kept her busy for hours and hours:
(Thanks, Aunt Julie and Uncle Bill!! We love you!!)
The twins made 'f' fishies at school on Tuesday and for once took a glorious nap:
We celebrated Dylan and Myles 3rd birthday at Fun Lane Tuesday night and had so much fun:
(Happy birthday, guys!!)
My first born woke up Wednesday morning as a 5 year old!! I seriously can NOT believe it. Girlfriend loves donuts and pink so I surprised her with pink sprinkled donuts for breakfast and she couldn't stop smiling:
Tenley headed to school to celebrate her birthday, while my in-laws took the twins to the park since we finally had a break from the rain. The kids had a blast and just love spending time with their Grammy and Pop Pop:
The birthday girl came home sporting the biggest smile and her special birthday crown that she got to wear all day at school:
After school, Tenley opened presents from Grammy and Pop Pop, Grandma Cath, GiGi and Great Grandpa Ed, Grammy Sophie, Aunt Donna and Uncle Chris, Aunt Jan, Aunt Sue and daddy, too! This girl is so lucky to have so many people who love her so much:
(Thanks for making her feel so special on her birthday!! We love you all!!)
We went to dinner at Pop Pop's favorite restaurant, Lucille's, to celebrate Tenley's birthday. We all had such a great time together and the birthday girl was in heaven when we sang to her:
After dinner we went to the pumpkin patch/carnival at The Galleria Mall and had way too much fun. The kids were so brave and went on everything; which made it a blast! It was the perfect way to end Tenley's big day:
The twins had their Halloween party at school on Thursday and they were so excited to wear their costumes to school (until my mother-in-law tried to put Ev in her carseat and lost it):
While the trouble makers were off partying at school, Tenley and Grammy made the most beautiful apple pie together:
(Even Maddie Hatter helped sprinkle sugar on the top.)
In the middle of partying the twins learned about the letter 'F' and took the elderly treats at The Beehive:
(You gotta zoom in on Wes' face...freaking hilarious!)
After school, Ev was exhausted. She had another meltdown and ended up falling asleep on my chest. Although I wasn't a fan of the freak out, I really enjoyed the snuggles since they are non-existent these days:
That evening we met the Rice girls at Black Mountain Rec Center for our first Trunk or Treat experience. The kids loved it because their baskets were full of candy in minutes and they had fun participating in all the games. It was definitely a night well spent:
(Oh Sailor, how I love you!)
When we got home the kids sorted out their loot and it brought back so many memories of trick-or-treating at my Aunt Donna's:
Friday was Nevada Day; which meant no school for Tenley Bear. My in-laws came over early Friday morning to watch the kids, while I went to Pure Barre. The kids enjoyed playing outside with Grammy and Pop, but were bummed because it started to sprinkle and they had to go inside:
After barre, I took the kids shopping with me and treated them to lunch at Rachel's Kitchen for being so good:
Maybe it's because she's 5 or maybe not, but Tenley has been an exceptionally ah-mazing good sissy:
That night Ed and I finally got to sneak away for a date. We went to our favorite Italian restaurant, Ventano's, and actually got to actually chew our food and enjoy it. We had no real plans and just had fun winging it together. After dinner we made our way down to The Linq, gambled a bit, walked around, ate ice cream and just enjoyed each other's company. It was such a great and overdue night with my best friend:
Saturday was costume day at dance in honor of Halloween. Ev was in her mermaid glory as Line Leader and really showed off for Grammy and Pop Pop:
After Ev's class we had to say goodbye to my in-laws; which was by far our worst goodbye to date. Tenley is such a Grammy's girl and makes herself so sick saying goodbye to her. She was hyperventilating and sobbing about how she can't get her mind off how she "can't hug Grammy anymore." Seriously, heartbreaking. Thank God we had Stella's birthday party after and the variety of cookies and pumpkin decorating cheered her up:
(Happy birthday, Stelly!!)
After the party, it was time for "Princess Elena" to dance. Tenley looks forward to costume day all year and had so much fun in class:
That night, Ev decided that she needs to sleep with the light on from now on. When I snuck in to turn off their light I couldn't stop laughing at how they fell asleep...Wes with his beloved Ninja Turtle Mashem stuck to his eye and Ev snuggled with two pretzels in her hand (she has to have 2 pretzels and a string cheese in her hand every night...I pick my battles.):
I spent my Sunday morning at Pure Barre with the hardest working pup around:
After working out, I baked pumpkin pie and made pumpkin chocolate chip cookies to feed a village for The Rices annual Halloween party:
That evening we carved pumpkins and the kids couldn't take the gooeyness, go figure, so Ed and I took over while the kids ate cookies:
What a week! Until next time! :)
