I don't know why, but my kids are such early risers. Like, if anyone knows a way around this, please share! The one good thing about them being early birds is that they get to play outside before the ground starts to feel like lava:
While playing, Tenley felt something in her mouth. I got excited thinking her tooth fell out, but nope! Her adult tooth forced its way out without knocking the baby tooth out. I freaked a bit on the inside, but hoped this was normal:
Monday was Alena's 4th birthday...like, what?! I can't even comprehend how that little spitfire is 4 already, but she is and is as sassy as ever. The Venturino gals came over to play and Amy and Luke brought donuts to celebrate:
Ed isn't one to take pictures, but when I was at Pure Barre in the evening he texted me and said, "typical night" and I was dying and showed everyone at work:
Of course, I sent him pics of a typical barre night: shake sesh, then champs:
Amy and I showed up to PB looking like twins on the 4th of July; which was totally unplanned:
Ev was SO ready to get the 4th of July party started when I got home:
We spent our Fourth of July at Pat's and it was truly the perfect day. The weather was beautiful, the pool was refreshing, the kids had such a blast and the salsa was out of this world delicious:
(Thanks for having us Pat!! We had such a great day!)
After a great day in the sun, we headed home, showered and spent some time outside before heading to see fireworks:
We went to Heritage Park to watch the fireworks and were so disappointed in the new location. We used to be able to just walk down the street to see the Henderson firework show, but this year they changed locations and I've never seen so many people in one place before. We sat on the sidewalk for the show and the kids fell asleep on the way home. Thank God they enjoyed the show; which made it worth it:
After our busy 4th of July, we did absolutely nothing on Wednesday besides eat loads of watermelon:
Tenley's baby tooth wasn't getting any looser and her adult tooth kept poking out more and more daily so I called her dentist and got her right in. I had a feeling they were going to pull it so Amy watched the twins, while Ed and I took Tenley to the dentist. They said this was super common for kids. Her doc said that Tenley has a very small mouth and that the adult teeth aren't going to wait for space, they'll just poke out wherever they can! The doctor said he definitely saw braces in her future and you would've thought he said she was going to be a millionaire because she was squealing saying, "Mom, can you believe I have braces in my future?!" The doc gave us the option to let the tooth try to loosen on its own or pull it so the adult tooth could hopefully go where it was supposed to be. Since it's been loose for 2 weeks and wasn't any looser, we all decided it was time to take it. Tenley ultimately made the decision and she was so extremely brave...mostly because she wanted to try to catch the tooth fairy that evening. It's absolutely crazy to see my baby without her bottom tooth. She's growing up so quickly and I'm so proud of how brave she is:
They gave her "silly gas" and it was quite possibly the funniest thing ever. She was such a trooper:
When we got home, the Tooth Fairy already had a surprise waiting for her tooth- a sweet tooth pillow! Girlfriend was so excited:
The Tooth Fairy is a baller and gave Tenley a whopping 5 bucks for getting that sucker pulled. She was so excited and now thinks she has enough money for Disneyland (keep dreamin' sis!):
The Rice crew came over Friday morning and we were all in baby Heaven:
When I came home from teaching on Friday, Ed was making dinner and I found Ev passed out on the couch like a little angel:
Ed had the kids all to himself Saturday morning/afternoon while I had a "me day". Since he's the best/bravest Daddy ever, he took the kids to see 'Cars 3'. They talked him into buying the kid's pack, Dib's, Skittles and Sour Patch Kids. He said he spent more on food, then the actual tickets! He's such a pushover when he doesn't have me for back-up, but the kids loved it:
I spent my entire morning and afternoon at the Green Valley Ranch Spa with Amy. Since we both love spas, it seemed like the perfect way to celebrate her recent move to Las Vegas. It's quite ironic because she treated me to my very first massage back when we were in High School at Casal's De Spa in Canfield, Ohio and here we are 16+ years later living across the country and still getting massages together. I got a 50 minute massage and 50 minute facial, hit up the indoor hot tub, then ate and drank by the spa pool. It was the most relaxing day ever and I'm so happy we get to do this together again:
I got home around dinner time and was so excited to see the kiddos:
Wes is such a momma's boy and was over the moon when I got home:
Since Amy stayed at GVR, we headed back there Sunday morning and took the kids to the pool. They were so excited to play in the sand and swim like fishes in the "shark-free beach":
As if I didn't get enough "me time", we planned a girl's night out Sunday evening to introduce Amy to the gang and to celebrate that Linds could actually enjoy a drink again! We met at Borracha in GVR and ate our weight in chips and salsa and enjoyed pitchers of "mango" margs. The food is always delish there, but the laughs we had were priceless. We sat there for 3 hours just gabbing and gabbing. It was wonderful and I can't wait to do it again:
Until next time! :)
