This week CCSD is celebrating Nevada Reading Week. Monday was 'Words on Your Shirt Day' and Tenley chose to wear a shirt that said, "never lose your sense on wonder" on it. They read the book 'Max's Words' and looked for worms without their hands:
That evening I ate dinner by my lonesome as I still try to adjust to Ed's new schedule. We had hamburgers on lettuce with vegan mayo and crushed avocado on top, served with my fav- white sweet potatoes. The kids love sitting at their table so I ate alone:
Tuesday was dress like your favorite book character day. Tenley originally wanted to dress like Aurora and wear a plain pink dress. I explained that she'd look like herself so we brainstormed other characters. One of our favorite chapter books is "The Princess in Black" so she decided on her and she looked like her twin:
Tueday is my volunteer day and this time I got to read to Tenley's class before testing them on sight words. Tenley was so shy and sweet when she introduced me, then I read the book 'Mother Bear'; which was so cute! After reading it was time to test the kids. Tenley loves to read and made her way to 2nd Grade sight words!! I literally can't believe it and am so proud of her:
I saw her 'Opinion Paper' in the hallway about a story they read and I thought it was super cute:
While I volunteered the twins were at school reviewing the letters 'P', 'B' and 'R':
Wes started Snowplow Sam #2 at CNA Tuesday evening. The whole class is done without cones and he did so good! The class is much smaller so he gets more one on one time with the teachers. He seemed even more excited after class:
Tenley worries about everything and 'Wacky Wednesday' was a little bit too much for her to handle. She chose a super wacky outfit the night before, but when it came time to get dressed Wednesday morning she started getting super anxious (probably triggering more psoriasis). She began to cry and I found her in her room writing this letter:
(The secret I do not like wacky wednesday it is too wacky. I like better is my mommy.)
She toned down the outfit by removing the striped skirt and happily went to school:
They wrote instructions on how to make slime, then made slime at school. She brought home green slime and nicely shared with brother and sissy:
Wednesday was the last night of Pure Barre Henderson's 'Not So Winter Winter Games' challenge. The last event for it was 'Wine Down Wednesday' for an extra and final point. I gave the kids an early bath and we stopped by in our PJs to say hi to the evening crew that I miss so much. Amelia gave them a quick workout and they added points to their names on the challenge boards:
Thursday was 'Dress as is you are going on a voyage, a traveler, pirate or even a Vegas Golden Knight Day.' Of course, Tenley wanted to be a Golden Knight and wore her VGK tee:
Art is her favorite (I believe it's the scorpio in her) and she painted these hearts and gave them to her brother and sis:
Everly and Wesley are learning about dental care and came home telling me all about what makes their teeth smile or frown. Wes says he could still eat Skittles if he rinses with water and brushes well, though:
Friday was Dr. Seuss' birthday, therefore it was 'Dress as your favorite Dr. Seuss character.' Tenley wanted to be Cindy Lou Who from 'The Grinch' and looked so cute:
The twins were fighting ALL day, I was exhausted and used sugar to get me through:
(Thanks, Kristine!!)
The Kinder classes ate Green Eggs & Ham and some of my mom friends got to volunteer and serve the kiddos. They sent me these cute pictures of how disgusted Tenley was with the green eggs (she hates eggs to begin with!):
Alex came over after school before we all went to the school's movie night together. I honestly wish they'd do it once a month because it was so much fun! The kids loved taking money and going up to buy cookies, cupcakes and glow sticks. Ev would go up and take 10 minutes to buy one thing because she was so shy- it was so cute!! I loved seeing the kids interacting with their friends, too. Tenley even had a moment where she didn't want to hold my hand because we were around the older kids. I was mad, but laughed because it was kind of funny. We had such a blast and ate way too much:
After teaching Saturday morning, I rushed to Gymcats and got to see about 20 minutes of class. Ev got to dance with hula hoops and loved it:
That afternoon, the kids got a package from Grammy and Pop Pop full of goodies from their recent trip to Disney World for Alyssa's wedding at the Animal Kingdom. We were supposed to go, but ended up not being able to. These treats made the sting of not going a little more bearable! 'Cause Mickey and Minnie shaped candies cure anything:
(Thanks, Grammy and Pop Pop!! We love you!!)
I was so pooped from a long week of mommin'/workin' that we lit the fireplace and did nothing the rest of the day. Ed made my favorite chicken gnocchi soup and I was in Heaven:
We had another lazy day on Sunday. I got up to workout early, then came home to snuggle the rest of the day:
Until next time! :)
