Monday was still Spring Break for the kids, but unfortunately Ev's pink eye spread to Tenley and Wes. No surprise really. Luckily, we had drops and I started them instantly so they'd have them in their system for 24 hours before being back at school. In addition to that, I still felt awful. It hurt so bad to talk, I was coughing up blood, had a fever and was so tired. The only thing productive I did on Monday was go to Quick Care. The doctor tested me for the flu, but the results were negative. Turns out I had a severe sinus infection. I've never had one before and wouldn't wish it on anyone. I was prescribed a z-pack and had to get my classes at Pure Barre covered.
I wanted nothing more than to sleep in on Tuesday, but it was back to our daily school schedule. I had to wake Ev up and she looked so precious. I panicked when she woke because I thought she threw up, but nope! Just a chocolate egg that she slept on:
Sadly, I couldn't volunteer on Tuesday since I was sick, again. I was so bummed. I miss doing sight words with the kids so badly. Instead I was stuck drinking a juice Amelia sent to help make me feel better:
(Thanks, Amelia!! Love ya!!)
Tenley and I worked on homework when she got home and her 'been' sentence made me giggle:
I mustered up energy to go to Wes' ice skating class and it made my day! He is doing so well and learning new moves:
Tenley read the bedtime stories when we got home and I just love seeing her in this role:
Wednesday morning Tenley got herself ready for school. As I peeked in on her I got a glimpse of her teenage years:
Amy's mom was in town and the kids were so excited to meet her. She was coming over to our house after we ran some errands and they talked about her the entire time. They were really concerned about her Mac 'n Cheese making skills:
Karen was making ham and cabbage soup and Amy invited us all over for dinner; which was perfect since I was still feeling sick. Homemade soup from Mama Karen was just what the doctor ordered. It was delicious and sitting down eating dinner with them all felt like high school all over again. After dinner the kids played outside and enjoyed the beautiful weather:
I was finally feeling semi-human Thursday and had an appointment to order my bridesmaid dress for Sara's wedding. The kid's don't know that they're all in it yet, but Ev is already inserting herself in the wedding as the flower girl and requesting "details" on her dress:
I pulled out my back while coughing so Ed took Tenley and Wes to Costco. After dress shopping, Ev and I came home to cook dinner. Ev loves to cook and I'll be shocked if she grows up to be anything other then a chef. She sure does look adorable while cooking:
My voice still wasn't up to teaching so I couldn't work Thursday evening; which worked in Tenley's favor. She is a total nerd and loves anything to do with school. She begged to go to the Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM) Workshop. I stayed home with the twins, while Tenley got a Daddy/Daughter date and was in Heaven. This was right up Ed's alley because they worked on building with school supplies and worked together as a team. They had a blast and it melted my heart seeing Tenley so excited for alone time with Daddy:
Tenley was all about school spirit on Friday and picked out the cutest outfit all by herself:
I was feeling so much better on Friday! I even got in an amazing sweat session and coffee date with Molly while everyone was at school. I packed the twins lunches and treated them to lunch at the park after school:
Tenley's little mind was running wild ever since the STEAM workshop. She was determined to make her own light out of a mason jar and tin foil. With Daddy's help, her dreams were made possible and she had her very own custom nightlight:
I was back to teaching Saturday morning; which felt great! Being away from the studio for a week is pure torture for me. After teaching and taking a class, I headed to Gymcats with the girls for cheer and dance. Tenley's love for cheer grows weekly; which makes it so fun to watch, while Ev is still in her own little world in dance and having so much fun:
(Anyone watch RHOC?! I feel like Ev will grow up to be Lydia's mom, minus the pot addiction. I could total see her throwing glitter on someone who needs to chill out.)
While at cheer, Tenley told me she decorated the house with "positivity". I came home to handwritten notecards with positive quotes on them. She is truly the sweetest:
("The star is in you!" kills me!!)
It was super windy Saturday afternoon so we walked to the park so the kids could fly their kites from the Easter Bunny:
The weather was absolutely perfect Sunday so we kicked off our summer pool tour! The M's pool is heated and is so kid-friendly. I was nervous since we got rid of our floaties last year, but Tenley and Wes remembered how to swim right away. Ev was a little more scared of drowning, but quickly picked up right where she left off. This was the first time we were ever able to sit and watch the kids play and swim while we kicked back. It was the perfect kick-off to "summer":
Until next time! :)
