Weekly Update

Wes loves ice skating and told us that he wanted to go faster and learn more. His Snowplow Sam 2 class has so many kids in it and his shy personality holds him back in the group a bit. A few weeks ago we were late and one of the teacher's picked him up over the wall and skated with him in the air over to his class and Wes has been obsessed with him ever since. Mr. Nickel also teaches private lessons and Wes really wanted to do it. Now, in addition to his 'Learn to Skate' Snowplow Sam 2 class on Tuesday, he started private lessons with Mr. Nickel on Monday and had SO much fun!! I was so bummed I had to work and couldn't see. Ed said he was skating so good and doing everything his teacher told him to do. Mr. Nickel makes it fun; which is just what he needs at this age:

I was finally back to volunteering Tuesday morning and had so much fun catching up with the Kinder kids! Tenley is so close to finishing 2nd Grade sight words; which blows my mind! I'm so proud of her:

The twins learned all about the letter 'N' on Tuesday and were excited to come home to secret journals that Tenley bought them at her Book Fair that morning:

After picking T up from school, we headed straight to the rink. Wes took a nap on the way there and looked so precious:

Poor guy hates groups of people and gets so nervous in them. He got left behind quite a bit in class on Tuesday, but still skated well on his own. He surprised me with how well he's doing skating backwards:

While getting out of the shower that evening Everly slipped and fell. Since she was wrapped in her hooded towel she couldn't catch her fall with her hands and caught herself with her mouth instead. I can't handle when the kids cry in pain so naturally I ran in the other room and went into the fetal position. Tenley hovered over me while screaming "there's blood everywhere!!", Wes was busy playing with Super Heroes and luckily Ed handled Ev calmly. Her lip was immediately swollen, gums black and blue and bleeding. I was positive she lost a tooth from the sound of the smack on the tile, but luckily it's still in tact. Sweet girl cuddled in our bed all night and somehow woke up smiling:

Ev said ice cream everyday would heal her mouth so naturally I obliged. First, we had to stop at Target to buy her a bath bomb and Wes found a VGK mini hockey goal that he refused to leave without:

Ev insisted on an ice cream shop that she could put her own toppings on so, of course, we went to our favorite little shop with the perfect desert view-- Chilly Jilly'z:

As soon as we got home, Wes broke out his hockey bag and pretended to be Ev's teacher:

You may sense that we're kind of hockey obsessed in our house. Well, The Golden Knights made it to The Stanley Cup Playoffs and we kept going back and forth about how we wished we could go. Ever since seeing 'She's Out of My League' and the guy gets checked into the glass it's been a dream of ours to has glass seats. Obvi, we're not wealthy so we've been happy sitting far away when we can go. I was talking to a client at Pure Barre asking her how she always sits so close to the ice and she said she goes down there without tickets and buys them last minute when the price drops. I told Ed about this weeks ago and we joked about doing it someday. For giggles, I got a sitter the day before, but still thought there's no way we'd get seats. Sure enough I got ready anyways, we stalked Stub Hub and close seats were priced so good. Then they sold and we started to panic. 5pm rolled around and Ed purchased us 2 seats in row C for face freaking value (which are now much higher per game and tripled by the time we arrived so SCORE!!). Babysitter came at 5:30 and we were off!! It was the first time I did my makeup in awhile and I laughed because I told Ed if Fleury looked at me the right way I was leaving with him instead. I mean, had to look good for my dream night, right:

We were stuck in so much traffic, but got to see the cranes at the future Raiders stadium; which is funny because the Raiders owner was by us in the Lounge and Ed shook his hand and chatted for a hot second (I was clueless and thought it was a coworker):

The energy in the T-mobile Arena was crazy!! The new Stanley Cup Playoffs stairs were my favorite and had me pumped:

We made our way right to our seats because we didn't want to miss a second of the pregame. We loved sitting in the nice leather seats, but loved our Battle Towels even more:

You know your seats are close when you have to tilt back to see the jumbotron! The pregame gave me chills! The noise and energy was something I will never forget! Vegas truly is the best:

When Ed bought the tickets we thought they were right behind the penalty box, but we were slightly off to the side. It ended up being perfect because my favorite part is when the team walks out of the tunnel and we were shocked when we realized the tunnel was literally right in front of us:

At intermission we got a closer look at the ice, Bud Light Lounge and ran into some of my fan VGK fans:

My favorite part about sitting so close to the ice was seeing their faces and really hearing the hits. We were amazed at how much bigger the players are in real life, also. Another favorite part was this group in front of us who kept flipping Doughty off and frustrating him. At one point there were so many middle fingers facing him...it was awesome:

We had the time of our lives, Fleury shut out The Kings and we started the round 1-0!! The final minute was insane:

We couldn't sleep when we got home because we were on such a high from the game. I barely slept; which was 100% fine because it was worth it! Ev and Wes made bird's nests at school and I tried resting my voice after all that screaming at the game so I could teach Thursday evening:

Tenley's friend's mom tests her class on sight words every Friday and girlfriend passed 2nd Grade sight words!! She was so proud of herself and so are we!! This girl is such a rockstar:

I took the twins to the park for lunch after school and ran into some friends. The kids were so excited and looked for leprechauns in the grass the entire time:

We celebrated Miss Smarty Pants by making a cookie cake and writing her favorite sight words on it:

Followed by practicing some wrist shots, of course:

Everly did well during her ballet portion of class, but didn't get a sticker for the day because she didn't want to participate in tap. She starred in the mirror and made fishy faces the whole time because she says the tap dance is "too fast". Her summer recital should be interesting:

Tenley did well in cheer and had a blast, per usual:

The weather was gorgeous Saturday; we had to go play outside:

For once, I didn't wake up early on Sunday to workout since I had a workshop for Pure Barre in the afternoon. Instead, I spent my morning sleeping in, then cuddling on the couch with the girls:

While I headed to Summerlin for work, Ed took the kids to public skate at CNA. Ev is the only one who uses a cone so it's quite easy and they had so much fun with Daddy:

Before our class with Pure Barre Master Teacher Trainer, we stopped at Makers and Finders for some yummy coffee, then shopped at Lululemon:

Taking class from an MTT is one of my most favorite things!! The class is full of teachers, the music is loud and the energy is fire. Even though it was a classic class I had sweat dripping on my mat during abs which made my heart so happy. After class we shook off the sweat and got ready for our workshop:

The afternoon was so inspiring! Seeing women work together to help better eachother is something special. I left feeling so empowered and ready to kick some butt! As soon as we were done, I headed straight to Isla's 6th birthday party. I was super late, but got to scarf down some pizza and see them play for a little:

(Happy birthday, sweet girl!! We love you!!)

Until next time!! :)
