Ev & Wes: 8 Month Recap

Seriously, could they get any sweeter? I don't think it's possible. It's so incredibly sad how quickly these two are growing up. I mean, 8 months! Already? It doesn't seem real.

Weight: 17 lbs 8 oz (Birth: 6 lbs 13 oz)
Height: 28 in (Birth: 19 in)
Clothing Size: 6-9 month
Diaper Size: 3

We thank God every day for giving us Evie or as we call her, "the good child". She is totally the quiet "middle child", but there is no forgetting her because she is just the sweetest little thing. She has a way of being so quiet, but smiling so loudly that your insides will be flooded with a million butterflies. Ugh, she is just the sweetest. Her hair has been coming in a lot recently and as it fills in it is getting very fuzzy; which is absolutely adorable. She is very strong and loves to stand and lean against furniture or toys. She especially loves to stand at her activity table and abacus cube. Sometimes she lowers herself down to the sitting position after standing for awhile, but most of the time she forgets how to do it and will stand foreverrrr, then will whimper when she wants someone to come put her in the sitting position. Not only can she pull herself up on anything and everything, but I caught that girl pulling herself up on her walker and inching her way across the living room until she wobbled over. She is obsessed with playing "hide 'n seek" with momma. I swear it's not a typical day around the house unless I'm saying, "Ev???? Where's Ev, Tenley?!" You really have to keep an eye on the silent ones.

Weight:  21 lbs 4 oz (Birth: 7 lbs 15 oz)
Height:  29.5 in (Birth: 21.25 in)
Clothing Size: 12 month
Diaper Size: 4

Then there's this boy... Whoever said boys were easier is a liar. I swear, I can't count the number of bruises on this boy. He is such a daredevil. One second he's in the fireplace, then the next he's climbing on toys to get on the couch and swan dive off. He crawls on all fours now so he's very fast. He loves to bang toys together and always be as loud as possible. He started standing in his crib when he wakes up and banging his hands on his sisters rail. He can also pull himself up onto anything and stand for long periods of time, but he lowers himself down onto his booty whenever he wants to move onto another thing. Besides using his sister's high heels as teethers there's no mistaking that he's all boy. Well, besides the fact he has major separation anxiety and cries like a little girl if you try to leave his sight for a slight second. And believe me his cry and pouty face is absolutely undeniable. Gets me every time.

The babes have had a busy month! From their first beach experience and first Disneyland vacation to lowered cribs and convertible car seats. They're growing at an alarming rate and moving a little more than I'd like.  Watching these two grow together and bond with their big sister is truly such a blessing. I'm so lucky to be their mommy!

Happy 8 month birthday, Everly and Wesley!!

(These pictures are NOT easy to take. For example, after this picture my daredevil Wes decided to swan dive off the chair, thus smacking his eye on my camera lens. AY YI YI!!)

Weekly Update

Monday was Labor Day; which kicked off our vacation a.k.a. Ed's Dirty Thirty Celebration Vacation! We spent the morning driving to Cali, then relaxed on the beach and spent the night with our friends in Downtown Disney.

Tuesday we had breakfast at Goofy's Kitchen and spent the entire day at Disney's California Adventure and Disneyland.

Wednesday was Ed's 30th birthday; which we celebrated by having lunch with Tenley's favorite Princesses at Ariel's Grotto.

Thursday was our last day at the parks and we took it easy since we had a long drive home.

BIG thanks to Karina for taking such great care of Pearly, again. Don't know what I'd do without such a sweet friend like you. Love you!

Friday we weren't in Disneyland (whomp, whomp, whomp) and we were totally having withdrawals, but managed to get through the day:

Since Tenley missed the first day of preschool while we were on vacation I arranged for her to meet her teacher and catch up Saturday morning. She was so excited about all the books that they had and instantly got to reading all of her favorites while her teacher, Miss Marsha, went over some paperwork with me. Then, Miss Marsha explained to Tenley that they will each be making a alphabet train this year. On the first day they made the front of the train and will be adding a letter each week to the train. I'm so excited to hang up her artwork each week and she had so much fun making her train with Miss Marsha:

Later that day Ev practiced pushing around her new kitty cat from Disneyland in her walker:

Sunday was the start of football season and the Steelers played the Browns so you know I had the kiddos decked out! We played outside as we waited for the game to start:

I was in a great mood the rest of the day since the Steelers pulled off the win (yeah, I said it...it was a close one).

Tenley starts preschool tomorrow! Wish me us luck!

Until next time! :)

Magic Morning

We saved our magic morning passes for our last day so we could make the most out of it, but unfortunately everyone was so exhausted that we had to wake the kiddos up:

We got to enter the park an hour before the park actually opened. Everyone lined up to get their tickets scanned and when it was time for the gates to open you heard everyone yell, "3, 2, 1!!!!" Then the people rushed the entrance of Disneyland. It was awesome and I was bummed we weren't up front. Once we got to Main Street we had to wait a few more minutes until the rides opened and you could really see the mass amounts of people there:

Ed and Ev headed straight to the line to get a return time to meet Princess Anna and Queen Elsa, while Tenley, Wes and I went on the great classic, Peter Pan; which was still a torturous 40 minute wait with an impatient toddler:

Ed was done waiting in line just as we got off Peter Pan so we walked over to Sleeping Beauty's Castle to check it out. As we were exploring, we spotted Aurora (notice she looks a lot like Ariel from yesterday??) and Tenley was so excited:

Next up, we went on Alice in Wonderland; although Tenley hated waiting 25 minutes in line (Alice in Wonderland and Peter Pan were the only rides that we had to wait more than 5 minutes for) this was still one of my favorite rides. It was kind of a mini roller coaster for the kiddos; which was hilarious because Ev and I sat in the front and no "lap babies" were allowed in the front so there's sweet little 8 month old Ev in the front row of a roller coaster. No big deal. She was loving it and Tenley talks about "Alice in Woowaland" and the pink caterpillar EVERYDAY so I'd say it was one of her favs, too:

It's a Small World was not a ride I had on my list of "musts", but there wasn't a line so we decided to go on it and I'm so glad we did because it was ah-mazing! Tenley loved being in the boat and the babies slept since it was long and cool inside. This ride was a win for everyone:

We had an hour to kill before we had to be in line to meet Princess Anna and Queen Elsa so we started to make our way to Winnie the Pooh, but Tenley fell asleep on the way there. We let her rest so she'd be in a good mood when it was time to meet Anna and Elsa. The twins were also asleep so Ed and I got to walk around and see some parts of Disneyland that we hadn't yet seen:

12:40pm quickly rolled around and it was time to line up to meet Anna and Elsa! While waiting we even got to chat with Olaf:

Tenley was so excited when she entered Princess Anna and Queen Elsa's cottage. She ran up to them and gave them the warmest hugs! She looked at them with such admiring eyes and was so excited that Elsa was holding her hand. While Elsa signed her book Anna took her to the window to show her their castle. When saying goodbye Tenley blew Elsa a kiss and I said, "blow Princess Anna a kiss, too!", but she didn't so Anna said, "that's ok! I can share my sisters kiss!" Tenley waved goodbye a million times and did not want them to look away from her. These Princesses were just too sweet:

We picked up Tenley's Princess themed name and took one last picture before leaving the park:

What a magic morning and afternoon that was! Unfortunately, our amazing vacation was over and we had to make our journey back home. We weren't even driving for more than 10 minutes before the twins passed out:
(Definitely should've gotten the Yukon XL...)

Then, in 45 minutes they were ready to be entertained:

Tenley was upset we weren't going back to the hotel (me too, Tenley):

Catnap, play, snack, tantrum, repeat.

What an amazing blessing it was to take this trip. I'm so glad we got to experience Disneyland for the first time together, as a family. I totally understand why people are obsessed with Mickey Mouse and have rooms in their house dedicated to him (kidding, but not really). This vacation to celebrate Ed totally surpassed my expectations and I can't wait to do it again and again (AND AGAIN)!
