Our Monday morning started off great- shopping in the rain with the Rice girls:
Then the day went to shit. Tenley's eyes looked exhausted, but she had all the energy in the world and refused to nap. She was just not having it...no matter how hard I begged her to nap and explained to her that mommy needed to nap, too. (Please don't judge me for needing a nap, being a stay at home is truly exhausting and even more so when you're pregnant.) No napping turned into no lunch for me; which brought my irritable level to the max and I was a mommy-monster from there on out. Of course, this would happen on a day when Ed has night school. Finally, at 4:30 Tenley and I were sitting on the couch watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on the iPad when her arm fell limp and she passed out for almost an hour:
Tuesday was the same thing...this is what was going on during "nap time":
I dropped my cranky/tired kid off at Lindsay's so I could meet Ed for our doctor appointment and, of course, she was a total angel for Aunt Lindsay (she absolutely loves Linds and Mase). Our appointment went good and Tenley finally napped later in the day:
Wednesday was a struggle again. I'm thinking she is getting her two year old molars because teething is usually the only thing that messes with her napping schedule. So I caved and gave her teething tablets and she was back on schedule:
Not even the teething tablets helped on Thursday, but she finally passed out like this after hours of failed attempts:
We played outside after her nap and T insisted on bringing Princess Teddy (she goes everywhere now):
The weather has been absolutely ah-mazing this week. Rain, rain, and more rain! I woke up on Friday to pretty natural waves so I decided to take a bump pic since I wasn't a hot mess:
(18 weeks 6 days)
I met a mom with boy/girl twins through Chelsea so we got together to talk "twins" at Grouchy John's Coffee. Tenley and I had fun goofing off while waiting for our new friends. Tenley loved seeing Crystal's twins and wanted to help me feed them pears. On a side note, I am now totally obsessed with this cool, awesome and DELICIOUS coffee shop (wayyy better than Starbucks...check it out!!):
(BTW, I get the hot non-fat decaf OG; which is salted carmel and vanilla flavored...try it, you won't be disappointed!)
We worked on T's room all day Saturday and she chose not to nap, again...maybe she was too excited?? Either way, on the way to pick up her bean bag chair from the monogramming place at the Fantastic Swap Meet, she passed out hard:
We finalllly finished Tenley's big girl room.
We were all pretty exhausted from working on T's room so we spent Saturday night at home relaxing and goofing off:
Sunday morning we got ready and met the Rice's at Run Plus Fun:
(19 weeks 1 day)
Our crazy kid was still not tired so we hung out until we both passed out around 3:
What started as a horrific week for me turned into such a great week. Although Tenley (and my) nap schedule is all out of whack, I realized I can't control these things and no matter how tired I am I just have to embrace my super energetic child because when 2 more babies are added to the mix all schedules are going to be thrown out the window and I'm not going to have any control anymore. Here's to hopping we get some better naps next week!
