Ev & Wes: 5 Month Recap

Holy smokes, I can not believe Little Miss Prim & Proper and Mister Moose Man are now 1, 2, 3, 4, FIVE months old! These cuties sure are getting big fast...

Weight: 16 lbs (Birth: 6 lbs 13 oz)
Height: 26 in (Birth: 19 in)
Clothing Size: 3-6 month
Diaper Size: 3

Little Miss Evie Cakes has finally discovered her voice and boy, oh boy, is it sweet! She chomps on her fingers while jibber jabbering non-stop. While gobbling up her neck one day she released the cutest belly laugh in the world. Although she has discovered her voice and giggle, she prefers to sit back and observe her surroundings in silence with her hands folded and a sweet little smirk on her face...always so prim and proper. When Little Miss Prim & Proper plays she prefers the same toy over and over again- her Bug-a-loop Nuby teether. She loves to sit in her boppy and just chomp away on that thing. When she lays on her boppy she even tries to pull herself to the sitting position. She is getting so strong. She caught up with her baby bro in the aspect that she can now roll both ways; which earned her the nickname "phantom" because we would leave the room with her on her back and then we'd come back and she'd be on her belly...or completely across the room. It took us about a week to finally catch her in action. Now that she's mastered rolling over, she started doing this modified angry army crawl...she pushes her tush high in the air and pulls herself forward with her arms while grunting. It won't be long before she is moving around faster than I can chase her. All of that moving must really tire her out because she still sleeps so well at night- waking maybe once or twice. She is just the sweetest little peanut.

Weight:  19 lbs 8 oz (Birth: 7 lbs 15 oz)
Height:  28 in (Birth: 21.25 in)
Clothing Size: 9-12 month
Diaper Size: 4

Oh, Moosey...you're a whole nother story! Total opposites, these two. He's always squealing and hollering about something (or nothing at all). If he's not squealing, he's likely giggling; which is beyond adorable and contagious. He loves to sit in his boppy and stare at Pearl, he could watch her for hours. He also loves to bounce around in his jumper like a total mad man. He's a big fan of the Bug-a-loop Nuby teether, too, mainly because his bottom right gum is really swollen and I think I can feel his tooth coming through. He is constantly gnawing on his hands and sticking his toes in his mouth. I just know my little man is in a lot of pain and it breaks my heart. The poor boy has the worst gag reflexes; which makes giving him tylenol or teething tablets next to impossible so his hands and feet are the best relief he has right now. He isn't doing the army crawl like his big sis, but he does like to do push-ups and scoot backwards (I told you they were opposites). His chubby legs are also getting strong and he likes to practice standing up. Unfortunately, he has never been a good night sleeper and he's been waking up around 5 am every day this month in addition to his every 2-3 hour feedings because you know chunky isn't missing any meals. He's lucky he's so dang cute!

The twins have really grown a lot this month. From packing on the pounds to drooling up a storm. They're constantly blowing bubbles and gnawing on their toes. It cracks me up when they switch back and forth between their feet or decide to chomp on each others feet instead. I even gave them a frozen banana to chomp on and either they didn't like it or I forgot how difficult feeding babies is. All and all this month has been an absolutely sleepless month with all the new changes they're going through but it has been worth every sleepless night to watch these two grow. The greatest thing about them getting older is watching their bond grow. It truly strengthens daily. They are always looking for each other, but what really melts my heart is when I'm tandem nursing them and sweet Evie reaches for Wes' hand. She always holds his hand and even when his hand slips out because he's fallen asleep she will be sure to feel around and find his hand again. I swear, I almost cry every time she does it. Not only does their bond grow daily, but their bond with their big sister also grows daily. They love her so much and she just adores them! She has really become such a big help for me. I could watch her nibble on their toes while giggling and saying, "nom, nom, nom!!" all day! Tenley can't wait until they wake up every morning and loves to give them hugs and kisses. Seeing their relationships grow just melts my heart. I don't know what our little family did without these cuties before. They are just the cutest siblings! This family is what I live for.

Happy five month birthday, Everly and Wesley!!
