If you read my blog last week, you may remember that we rushed home, to Ohio, to be with my mom who had emergency open heart surgery. Miraculously that tough cookie was doing so much better so everyone was in much better spirits.
Ed and I love being an Aunt and Uncle so naturally we had to pick up our adorable niece and nephew to get in some more play time. Tenley had a absolute blast with "Chrissy and Jenga" and Chris and Jayla loved holding their baby cousins:
Ed and I went to visit mom at the hospital, while Ed's dad, Grammy So-Vay, Aunt Jewie and Sara came to watch the kids. Tenley enjoyed playing outside and picking the hydrangeas with Sara and draining her iPhone battery by taking 65826598 selfies:
When we got back from the hospital, my family was dying to go home and take a nap. As soon as my Aunt saw me she said, "Kelli, how do you do this everyday?! We are all exhausted! I'm going home to nap." They couldn't manage to get any of the kids to nap, probably because they were too excited and just wanted to play with them. All of the fun had Tenley exhausted AND cranky so she took a quick nap on Ed before we had more guests over:
Amy and Alex came to visit and boy were we excited to see them! We laughed so hard and it felt like someone hit the rewind button 13 years and no time had passed at all (except for the addition of a few kids). Tenley loved Alex a.k.a. Agassi and I loved watching our kiddos play together:
(We're working on sharing...)
Al brought Tenley this awesome flashlight friend that Tenley named "Agassi" and she loved it because she could make "shadow puppies" with it before bedtime. Agassi quickly fit into her group of stuffed friends:
The twins turned 6 months old on Tuesday:
While Ed stayed home with the kiddos, I went to Aunt Jul's beauty parlor, Brush and Comb, to get a new look. We decided on a subtle ombre look since it'd be easy upkeep and I'm absolutely in love with it:
(Thanks, Aunt Jul! Love you!)
After getting pampered by my Aunt, Ed and I wanted to go visit mom at the hospital and the amazing thing about being in Ohio is the massive amount of people willing to help with the kids at the drop of a dime:
(Let me just add that my Gram followed my text by saying that Grandma Dee was coming, too. Like I said, so much help!)
While we went to the hospital, Pop-Pop, Grammy So-Vay and Grandma Dee enjoyed the cool weather and watched the kiddos:
GiGi and Grandpa Ed came to play with the kids and GiGi had Evie giggling up a storm:
Uncle Roger came over to hang out with the kids:
Tenley had a rough night so she slept in on Wednesday and looked like a total angel while doing so:
Unlike his big sis, Wes woke up bright and early and was in a great mood:
I finally had some time to do my hair and I'm lovin' having some color in it:
The day was finally here that we were all waiting for...my mom was being released from the hospital!!!! After all that we've been through it kind of felt like this day was never going to come, but we couldn't be happier that it had. My mom was required to have constant supervision for a week so she was going to stay with my Gram. As soon as she got released and settled in we brought the circus over to see her:
Tenley was going absolutely stir crazy so my Aunt Donna had the great idea of bringing my mom to her house so we could bring the kids over to swim at the Dotas. It was such a beautiful day and her neighborhood couldn't have looked lovelier. Tenley had a blast swimming with Daddy, hanging out with Grandma Cath and Aunt Donna, eating all the yummy food Aunt Donna made and playing with Dusty, of course:
(This was always my "dream home" when I was a little girl...still is.)
All that swimming tired everyone out so we went back to Ed's so the kids could take naps:
After naps, Tenley was ready to go back to Aunt Donna's for more fun and climbed right in Grammy's car when she got home from work:
We went back to my Aunt's with my mother-in-law and had an amazing night. I got to meet Lisa's delicious little chunk Amari, Tenley got to play with Chris and Jayla (and the whole fam, of course), my godmother got to meet all my kiddos and, most importantly, we capped off our perfect night with cotton candy ice cream from Handel's:
(Who looks this good the day after being released from the hospital?!)
Pop-Pop got off work early on Friday so him and Ed took Tenley to The Lily Pond at Mill Creek Park to feed the fishies (which is apparently illegal...whoops!!). Turns out they fed these massive turtles and Tenley loved it:
While they were at Mill Creek Park, Evie Cakes was in the midst of a 4 hour nap. While Ev napped Moose Man practiced standing and hung out with mom and Aunt Donna until sissy woke up:
Friday was GiGi and Uncle Bob's birthday (twinssss!!) so we went to GiGi's for dinner and ice cream cake. The neighbors have a swing set and a trampoline so Tenley was all over that! She was a little weary of the trampoline at first, but then loved it. She had so much fun bouncing that she bounced so much she pooped her pants. All and all it was an amazing night to celebrate GiGi and Uncle Bob:
(Happy birthday, GiGi!! We love you!!)
(Happy birthday, Uncle Bob!! We love you!!)
On the way home, Tenley made sure to call Ariel and tell her she was "really bad" and pooped her pants:
I woke up to these two cuties in my bed Saturday morning:
Saturday was our last full day in Ohio so we had a busy, busy day ahead of us. Our first visitor of the day was Uncle Ray a.k.a. Wes' look-a-like:
Next up, was my mom and Aunt Donna, who were followed by Gary and Lauren (and plenty of others that aren't pictured). They're getting married in October and I don't think we'll be making another trip back to Ohio so soon now, but boy, oh boy, is Lauren going to be a beautiful Bride! I was bummed I didn't get to see Jill as much now that she's a super adult and has a job and what not in Columbus, but glad I got to see them before leaving:
My dad got came over to see us:
Cassie, John and the gorgeous Makenna came over and I'm so glad I got to meet that little peanut. Cassie is such an amazing mommy and seeing our kids together made my heart so happy:
Tenley took a break from visiting with people to pick Grammy's hydrangeas, while the twins hung out with Grandpa Ed and GiGi:
Amy and Al came over and I tried loosening Al up by taking silly selfies and it worked for a few minutes:
Alex was being her typical shy self so Tenley forced her to play with her (Tenley was kind of obsessed with her):
Everyone loved on the babies and enjoyed cotton candy ice cream, again:
After a busy day FULL OF LOVE the babies chilled out and Wes' chubby body attempted to crawl:
Tenley finished the day by taking selfies with Grammy:
Our flight left Pittsburgh at 8am and we were all pretty spent. The kids had a few tantrums on the plane, but all and all it wasn't too awful (nothing like our flight there with our angel Grandma Cath, though!). We arrived in Vegas at 9:30am our time and the first on our to-do list was to get Pearl because Tenley was really missing her.
(Thanks again to the Venturinos for watching Pearl!! I can't express how much it meant to us!!)
All was back to "normal" and Tenley was sitting on the couch with her pal, Pearl, and she said to me, "I happy to be home. I happy to see Pearl.":
The babies were back into their routine, too. They ate broccoli for dinner...or should I say they had Tommee Tippee bibs for dinner:
What a week!! Thanks again to everyone who prayed for my mom and thought of my family during this time of need. I was truly overwhelmed by the outpouring of love we received from everyone during this tough time. It was amazing to be in Ohio and be surrounded by so many loved ones and to be cared for in a way that only your family knows how...cookies from my father-in-law everyday, Christmas pasta and meatballs from Aunt Jul, haluski from Gram and Aunt Donna, cotton candy ice cream from everyone. An extra special thanks to my in-laws for opening their home to us and my family. Especially my mother-in-law who had clean laundry for us every morning and made sure we had everything we needed to feel right at home, even though she unfortunately had to work everyday while we were there; which you know absolutely broke her sweet heart.
It was sad to leave our home town, mostly sad to leave our family and friends, but it was time as my mom was on the mend and was being left in such great hands. We just had the greatest visit with each and every one of you. Although this isn't how we planned on coming home to visit, I'm so glad we got to do it! Thanks for being such a trooper and sticking around mom, we all don't know what we would've done without you! Party in Vegas next?!
Until next week! :)
