Monday was such a gorgeous day and the twins were in surprisingly great moods so we headed to the park after dropping Tenley off at school. My knees were killing me and I struggled to keep up with them when they ran in different directions. Luckily, they had so much fun in the play area that they didn't wander too much. It was a great start to our week:
This week Tenley's class is learning about the letter 'K'. She always wants to display her crafts from school; which is fine by me so we hung her kite on the sliding glass door:
After Ed got home I thought it would be a good idea to go on a walk to stretch out my knees, but I was in such pain on the walk back. Atleast the kids got in more park time:
I was practically useless on Tuesday, but the kids took it easy on me as I iced my knees throughout the day:
We also made wreaths to hang on the kid's bedroom doors and, of course, Tenley's had to be all pink:
The twins went down for their naps pretty easily and I was so glad because it meant I could ice my knees some more:
Ev woke up super early Wednesday morning so I brought her into bed with me where she took over like the diva that she is:
I woke up with some swelling under my knees Wednesday morning so the twins and I took it really easy while Tenley Bear was at school:
They even played "doctor" and gave me a thorough check-up:
Speaking of doctors, Tenley brushed up on her dentistry knowledge at school on Wednesday. She was signing songs all day with her new toothbrush that she cut with her scissors at school:
Wessie didn't want to nap so Tenley rubbed my knees while Wes and I cuddled on the couch. She is truly the kindest, sweetest, selfless little girl:
That afternoon the kids FaceTimed Grammy to wish her a happy birthday:
(Happy birthday, Grammy!! We love you!!)
Tenley always picks her outfits and I especially loved that she chose to wear her 'Polish Princess' shirt from Great Grammy Sofie on Thursday:
I begged Karina to come over Thursday morning because it was breaking my heart to tell the kids that mommy couldn't go to the park or chase them around the house. Luckily, she is such a great friend and came right over...fed the kids, brought me a foam roller and massaged my knees. I also got to snuggle with Baby Tina; which was really the highlight of my morning. Wes and Evie were especially excited to see her and kept saying, "bay-bee pay! (baby play!)":
(Thanks for taking care of me, Karina! Love you!)
Tenley painted my toe nails and Evie made sure they were dry:
That afternoon I had an appointment with an orthopedic specialist. After x-rays and an examination the doctor said I have bursitis. He explained it as having a jelly fish under my knees, just a crap ton of fluid/inflammation. Basically ibuprofen and doing the foam roller daily to move the fluid out. I felt like such an idiot, but now I know running is no joke. I can't wait to get better and start back up slowly with new shoes.
After my appointment, I rushed to meet Ed for the twins 2 year appointment. Maybe it was because Ed was there and they wanted to make me look like such a complainer, but all three of them were SO good! Ev is in the 10-15th percentile for weight, 50th percentile for height and her head-banging issues are considered "normal". Since her bro is such a show off with his talking abilities her pediatrician was a little concerned that she isn't as far along with her speech. I think it's due to having her brother talk for her. Plus she's so sweet that she gets whatever she wants by clicking her tongue. Wessie Boy is in the 75th percentile for weight and 95th percentile for height and is surpassing all of his milestones. Good thing is that we almost have two full sets of teeth. Wes is done and Ev's canines are still making their way down (those suckers have taken forever) and has all 4 two year old molars to get. The twins took their shots like a champ, too. After being so good, these guys definitely deserved a lollipop:
Shots? What shots? The kids were so happy when we got home and they could not stop smiling:
Wes insisted on bringing "Don Dough, MiMi, GaGa (Donald Duck, Minnie Mouse, Mickey Mouse)" to drop T off at school and I could barely see him:
We met Frannie and Milly at the park while T was at school, then we went back to our place to hang since we were sweating our asses off. Tenley came home and told us all about her day, while Wessie was putting the moves on Amelia:
The heat and hanging with our friends really led to a great nap time view:
We spent our Friday night at Costco; which would usually be a dream, but it was so dang packed! The kids were such troopers:
Wes was so excited to be reunited with his pals after our shopping trip:
The kids were up early Saturday morning so we headed to Egg Works for breakfast. The kids had a blast and man did I forget how good that place is:
We still had time before T's dance class so we headed to McCarran to watch the planes land:
The twins have been potty training themselves for the past few weeks. Some days they'd only want to use the potty and some days they'd be poopin' their pants. They were definitely ready, but I wasn't ready for errands to take much longer with a gazillion potty breaks. On Sunday, I finally said "let's do this!" and decided to go balls to the wall since they pretty much had it down and took them out without diapers. We went to Harbor Freight, Target and Home Depot without any accidents and about 7 trips to the potty throughout. We were all doing the happy dance at Home Depot to celebrate:
Until next time! :)
