While Tenley was off at school, the twins and I soaked up some sun and splashed around in their kiddie pool:
(FYI adding outdoor bubbles to the pool makes for added fun!)
After picking Tenley up from school, Wes threw a fit until he eventually was the only one to crash:
When Ed got home we grilled out and the kids ran through the sprinkler:
After all that fresh air I was convinced we'd all sleep in, but these boogers were up at 5:30am (since they love me so much):
Wes has been using one of Ed's old, cracked iPhone's to talk to Pop Pop. He insists on sleeping with it to tell Pop Pop good night and calls to wake him up and tell him about his dreams:
I was so excited when Tenley looked out the window on Wednesday and noticed that the flowers we just planted on Sunday started to grow! The kids were beyond fascinated so I really hope I don't kill them:
The twins have been skipping or taking turns with their nap schedules. It was a freaking miracle when they both fell asleep, then Ev woke up as soon as I attempted to slither out of the bed:
Lindsay turned 30 on Thursday!!!! I had been planning surprises for Lindsay with Mason for a month and the suspense was killing me. It is so hard to keep such big secrets from a person you talk to non-stop. For her morning surprise, the kids and I showed up at her house at 8:15 am and shouted "SURPRISE!! Happy Birthday!!" Mase watched all 5 kiddos while I whisked her off to the Green Valley Ranch Spa for massages. After our massages we headed to the spa pool and had breakfast by the pool without having to worry about drowning kids! It was such a relaxing way to start the day and I couldn't have been happier to spoil her:
Once I dropped her off at home, I finally broke the news to Tenley that we were also having a surprise birthday party for Linds at our house later. Mase really exhausted the kids and they both napped, while T and I decorated for the 30th Fiesta:
When someone is as loved as Lindsay is it is a piece of cake to throw her a party because everyone wants to help. Everyone pitched in and it turned out perfect:
Linds thought she was coming over for pizza with us and her parents, but the real surprise was the additional family, friends, fiesta food and churros (Lindsay's favorite):
Pat brought Lindsay a piñata full of retro candy (think wax lips and candy cigarettes) and it was so much fun! Mase blindfolded her and spinned her round and round until she got nauseous (too many prickly pear margaritas). I was cracking up and the smile on her face says it all:
The kids loved the candy and so did the kids because Pat literally poured Pop Rocks (their new fav) in their mouths all night. Us adults got our sweet fix with wayyy too many bundtinis:
It was seriously the perfect day and I'm beyond grateful to have such an amazing friend in my life. I hope you had a memorable 30th birthday, Linds! Can't wait to celebrate the next 30 with you (well, I can wait because I don't want to get older, but ya know what I mean). Love you, boo!
To top off our fun day, Tenley had Ed and I cracking up when she told us a joke after we tucked her in for bed...
Tenley: why can't you give Elsa a balloon?
Me: why not?
Tenley: because she'll just let it go!
I have so many days where the kids drive me crazy then they say something funny, giggle or smile at me and I remember why I love being their mom. For instance, the twins and I ran errands while Tenley was in school on Friday and getting twins into a car by yourself is a fete in itself. Wes is usually easy, but Ev always requires some sort of incentive to get in her seat and when Tenley isn't there she's always climbing in T's seat and all over the backseat. It's hard to get mad when she looks so dang cute pushing my buttons:
Our Staurday morning started early, as usual. Tenley fell apart when she found out that Isla's grandparents weren't going to be at the game. She refused to play and just wanted to sit and mope. Luckily, Linds was able to work her magic and got her to cheer up and play with her team:
Ev stayed entertained during the game by taking selfies:
We had time to kill before dance class so we all went to Hash House A Go Go and the girls thought it was hilarious that their pancakes were bigger than their heads:
With everything going on this week I totally spaced that it was our 6 year wedding anniversary on Saturday! Ed, the best husband ever, reminded me with the sweetest card (that had a beautiful poem inside) and also gave me the prettiest pink roses:
(Thanks for loving me even when I forget things (all the time)! I love you so, SO much and am the luckiest girl alive!)
Since we weren't celebrating big and just planned on a delicious dinner, I went to my barre class Saturday afternoon and Ev fell asleep laying on the floor for Ed:
I started my Sunday morning by breaking my calorie record at Pure Barre:
Ev decided she was interested in the potty again and insisted on sitting on the potty while eating a cookie:
After some potty training, we spent the rest of our day enjoying the beautiful weather outside:
Until next time! :)
