Weekly Update

The girls woke up early Monday morning, but Wes was sound asleep and looked like he's outgrowing his toddler bed:

The Rice gals met us at the park and the kids had so much fun playing together, as always:

Grandma Cath sent a box of goodies for everyone and Tenley was beyond excited about her new Elena backpack. As soon as we stopped FaceTiming Tenley instantly got the twins dressed and started playing "school":

(Thanks, Mom!! We love you so much!!)

I kind of had a job interview Monday night and Ed knew how nervous I was so he surprised me with a beautiful bouquet of roses to calm my nerves:
(More about that later...)

The Poe boys came over Tuesday morning and Tenley loved having more kids to boss around:

I had to met Ed when he got off work, T and Wes fell asleep on the way home, then Ev quickly fell asleep while they were relaxing in T's room:

Our Wednesday was full of cuddles, "school" and dress-up...you know, the usual:

There must be something in the air in Ohio because Grammy and Pop Pop sent us a box this week, too! Tenley got Elena jewelry, Ev got Barbies and Wes got Ninja Turtles...their latest obsessions:
(Thanks, Mom and Dad!! We love you both!!)

I ended my Wednesday at Pure Barre's 'Wine Down Wednesday' event. After the 5:30pm class everyone stayed and enjoyed a glass of wine while getting to know each other a little more. I've grown to know these women and just love everything about this place and it's people:

I woke up in a funk on Thursday...just feeling down on myself, then I noticed this sweet note from Ed; which totally made my day:

We met the Poes at Fun Lane Thursday and the kids played so nicely together. While the kids ran amuck, Kelly and I actually got to sit and catch up this time:

For the first time all week the twins went down easily for a nap; which felt like a sheer miracle:

While the kids napped I got the most beautiful delivery- twirl dresses from Alice & Ames, the girl's absolute favorite dresses:

The kids and I went to Target Friday morning to buy Ed birthday cards. Tenley wrote inside the card from the kids and told me that her "new thing is to add swirls to the letters." For some reason this cracked me up because I remember how I used to do girly things like that, too:

Wes and Ev went down easily for a nap Friday afternoon. Yes, that is TWO DAYS IN A ROW, say what?! I forgot how nice it was to have 2 napping kids:

While the twins napped Tenley got into character and looked freaking adorable:

I went to Pure Barre Saturday morning and laughed at how tore-up my sticky socks were. The higher the heel, the leaner the thigh:

Evie was so excited for dance class Saturday morning. She literally can not stop smiling while wearing a leotard:

Watching Ev's petite little body mimic Miss Cherity is seriously the cutest thing ever:

Tenley was excited to be Line Leader in her class and danced her little tushy off, too:

Saturday was also Ed's 32nd birthday and, per tradition, we baked him strawberry pie- his favorite:

While the pie chilled, we went to Dinner at Lucille's to celebrate the Birthday Boy:

After eating too many sweet rolls with apple butter, we headed home to eat homemade strawberry pie and bundtinis. Of course, everyone had to have their own candle to make a wish for Daddy:

(Happy birthday, Ed!! We love you to pieces!!)

The Lion Habitat Ranch in Henderson offers free admission during your birthday month so we took advantage of that and decided to take the kids to check out the lions and giraffe Sunday morning. We couldn't get over how massive the lions were. When we went to the Akron Zoon a month ago the lions just slept the whole time, but The Lion Habitat Ranch gets them up and interacts with them so you can really appreciate their size and beauty. The kids can not stop talking about how the lions peed on the glass (right by my head) and about the giraffe's big/sticky tongue:

After watching a lady feed Ozzie, the giraffe, the kids (and I) begged Daddy to feed Ozzie, too. He was the cutest and sweetest thing! Seeing the look on the kids faces and hearing their giggles when Ozzie took the lettuce from them was priceless:

While walking towards the exit, the lions were all talking back and forth and the kids loved it! It's a small place so we weren't there for long, but the kids had the best time:

That evening the Rices came over for dinner. I made this delicious chicken, spinach and tomato dish and we all chowed down on bundtinis after (worst/best weekend of eating in awhile!). As if the kids didn't have enough sugar, Tenley decided they needed ice cream, too. The kids played and ate themselves delirious:

We had such a great week and are really enjoying Ed's 3 day weekend!

Until next time! :)
