The kids and I went to the Fashion Show Mall on Tuesday to look for shirts for "the beach". Little did they know that they'd actually be wearing them to Disneyland! The kids freaked when the Disney store was decked out with Descendants decor:
I freaked in Lululemon because I loved e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g, but Tenley wouldn't let me look at anything because she thought her clothes were cuter than mine:
The twins played so peacefully in their room that afternoon; which is very rare these days:
In the midst of teaching two classes Tuesday evening, Cassi delivered the ah-mazing news that I passed my Pure Empower training!! I was so excited and oddly proud of myself. This "job" has done wonders for me and I just love it:
(Thanks for everything, Cassi!!)
I came home and delivered the good news to Ed and the kids and felt so extremely blessed to have such a wonderful support system:
Tenley and Wes prepped for school with fresh new hair cuts. Tenley loved getting her hair shampooed, but caught me off guard when she told Mallory to "chop her hair off". I wasn't quite emotionally prepared for that so I said no to that and she wasn't thrilled with me:
Ev and Wes helped me make pancakes Thursday morning:
Ev, Pearly and I cuddled before I had to head to work Thursday evening:
We had a 'Dirty Dancing' themed pop-up at Green Valley Ranch, followed by the movie at The Pond. It was fun and always a good time with these gals:
We woke up early Friday morning and began our goodbye to summer vacation! We got breakfast, then made our way to California. On the way, we stopped to see the Seven Magic Mountains. They were so much bigger than I imagined and the kids loved them:
We got to Newport Beach starving so we stopped and stuffed our face with pizza and my most favorite donuts EVER:
Once we ate, we were ready to hit the beach! We are absolutely convinced that Everly was a mermaid in her past life! Tenley wanted to go out further and further, girlfriend had no fear and Wes wants to learn to surf so bad. I love adventuring with these kids 1.) because its fun and 2.) because they really challenge my fears. We had so much fun and had sand in every nook and cranny:
After playing in the ocean for hours, we headed back to the hotel, got cleaned up, then told the kids we were taking them to Disneyland the next day:
Once the beans were spilled, we headed to Downtown Disney to buy our tickets, eat dinner and check out the Lego store:
Ed and I woke up early Saturday morning to get ready for our big day at Disneyland and I admired my little cuddle bug:
We slept in Sunday morning, then headed to Huntington Beach. We were informed it was the Van's US Open and to stay away from that beach, but we kind of wanted to see what it was all about and I'm so glad we did. The one side of the beach was packed with surfers and stands, but the other side wasn't any busier than any other beach. Watching the surfers was fascinating and Wes begged us to buy him a surfboard. It was such a great way to end our final day of vacay:
After our relaxing afternoon at the beach we headed home. The kids were so good on the drive and Wes even napped for most of it, but woke up for a Cheetos break:
This is by far my favorite week of summer...SO FUN!!
Until next time! :)
