Grammy and Pop Pop were over early Monday morning and the kids convinced them to play outside, of course:
My mom sent some Rae Dunn with my mother-in-law and I was thrilled it survived the plane ride:
(Thanks, Momma!!)
Grammy and Pop Pop played outside, again, with the kids Tuesday morning- it's their fav thing to do:
Wes finally convinced Ed to put together the 'Guardians of The Galaxy' Lego set that contained 400+ tiny pieces and the kids were pretty excited to help out:
Tenley and Jackson celebrated their final day of summer vacation at the pool on Wednesday and had a ball:
We had dinner with my in-laws Wednesday and poor Pop Pop got beat up on:
Tenley had her Kinder "Meet & Greet" Thursday morning. To add to the chaos, Ev woke up with a belly ache. I sat her on the potty right when she woke up, like I do every morning, and she immediately started throwing up in my hand (#momlife). Thank God Grammy and Pop Pop where here and able to come take care of her and Wes while I took Tenley to school:
Tenley was so excited to meet her new teacher and see her classroom. Everyone at her school is so nice and you can tell that they genuinely care about each and every kid. Tenley's teacher is no exception, she is so sweet, has been teaching for over 20 years, has her Master's and has boy/girls twins so yeah, we obviously love her! I'm also officially a member of the PTO, total mom status right there. I foresee many great memories here:
(Magic sleeping confetti...how sweet is that?!)
Evie still wasn't feeling well when I got home. She fell asleep on me and got in a much needed nap:
Ev was all better Friday morning. I'm thinking maybe she swallowed too much pool water? Anyways, we had a low-key day and Alex brought Evie a get well card that made her day:
(You're a sweetheart, Al!)
You may remember that before I had Tenley I used to love spinning and was even certified to teach. Well, I haven't done it since I was about 28 weeks pregnant with Tenley. Since Pure Barre collaborated with Cycle Bar and did a Bar-to-Barre event I decided I'd try it again. Cycle Bar rates your performance and I was proud of ranking 5th out of about 40 people, but I definitely prefer my barre the best:
We said bye to Grammy and Pop Pop Saturday; which is never easy. We're looking forward to seeing them again in October to celebrate Tenley turning 6:
(Miss and love you both!)
We spent the rest of our Saturday shoe shopping for the Queen and couldn't find anything in her size. After hours, Ev was o-v-e-r it and we couldn't do anything but laugh at the situation:
Ed could tell I was on edge Sunday (nervous for Kinder) and surprised me with roses when I got home from work:
(Thanks, Babe!!)
I have been buying "Kindergarten" books whenever I saw them and forgot how many I accumulated. I surprised Tenley with her new books before bed on Sunday and we instantly started reading them to prepare for Kinder:
Before bed, Mrs. McCall called Tenley to remind her about school and told her to get a good nights rest. She was so excited and felt so special:
Our big girl was now ready to put her magic sleeping confetti to use:
I packed her lunch and since I know she can't quite read, but loves emoji word puzzles, I left a little note and drew emojis so she knew what I meant:
Next week is a big week for us...stay tuned!!
