I am so envious of Ev's ability to snore like a grown man and attempt to sleep the day away. I hate waking her up, but kissing her pouty lips is also a great way to start the day:
While Tenley was at school, the kids and I went to Barnes and Noble and Ev practiced her recital performance. Then we had to stop at Target where Ev convinced me to buy her a 'Baby Alive' doll:
Wes had his private skate lesson Monday evening and continues to get better every time:
I volunteered Tuesday morning and get so sad that I don't get to test Tenley anymore. I did get to chat with her quickly during her bathroom break. She was so excited to show me the finished product of her sight word charm necklace:
The twins reviewed at school and practiced writing letters:
Wesley started Snowplow Sam #3 Tuesday evening and lucked out in the teacher department. He loved his Snow Plow Sam #1 teacher, Miss Sam, and got her again for #3. Plus, he got Miss Ariel who is super sweet. He really thrives on positive reinforcement and foo-foo ways of teaching and these ladies are perfect for him. He couldn't be happier:
Wes always sleeps in Wednesday morning because hockey 2 or 3 days in a row is a lot for his little legs:
We spent Wednesday morning at the park and enjoyed the sunshine:
While all the kids were in school Thursday morning, I got my sweat in at PBH. We showed our excitement for Round 2 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. This group of ladies sure do love our Vegas Golden Knights:
Everly and Wesley got stickers at school for being able to spell 'red' (thank God it wasn't teal!) and were so proud of themselves:
Ed and I lucked out when T-mobile released tickets on Monday and were able to buy 2 tickets under the fortress! We were so excited and got there early to take it all in:
Our seats weren't as close this time around, but just being in the arena was magical:
I'm not sure how hockey games our everywhere else, but Vegas sure knows how to put on a show! I legit get chills during every pregame:
Before I started filming they had the shark theme music on and a hologram of a shark swimming on the ice. It was awesome:
Then, it was my favorite time-- KNIGHT TIME:
VGK played so freaking amazing and the energy was phenomenal. My favorite part was when we were doing the wave and they played 'Surfin' U.S.A.' followed by a video of Jaws getting blown up. Again, nobody does it like Vegas:
We sat in the same row as UFC fighter, Brian Ortega, and our whole section got free shirts:
ZZ Top was also at the game, you can see his bright beard on the Knight Tron:
VGK shut out the Sharks 7-0 and it was ah-mazing! It was fun to be able to sit and enjoy the game without bitting my nails off because I'm worried we're going to lose. Wes woke up early Friday morning and loved his new Marchessault poster:
The twins met some of their friends at the park after school and since Kelly's a cool mom she brought water balloons. The kids couldn't have had more fun chasing each other and us moms around:
Tenley got another progress report and did so well. My favorite graded papers that came with the progress report was a description of her family and a book that she wrote, "All About Polar Bears":
Tenley picked her outfit for cheer Saturday and said she wanted to be a Golden Knights cheerleader when she grows up:
She continued to work on her back bend rise up and is getting pretty quick:
Everly got her costume for her Summer recital and looked adorable in it:
After dance Ev threw a fit because I wouldn't buy her popcorn at Gymcats. She was hysterical, but I refused to give in. She unbuckled herself on the freeway twice!! Tenley was having a panic attack thinking Ev was going to die from unbuckling herself, that girl is a total rule follower. We made it home in what seemed like a decade and she calmed down after an hour, then Wes started throwing a fit over something I don't even remember anymore. We planned on taking them down to Toshiba Plaza to watch game 2 of the playoffs, but didn't want them to do anything fun after how bad they were. Cassi invited us over to watch the game and although we didn't want to let the kids have fun we didn't want to torture ourselves either so we went there to watch the game. They BBQ'ed while the kids swam and it would've been perfect, if we won:
We try to go to 1 public skate per week so Wes can us his free pass, but CNA was closed Sunday for tournaments. The kids still wanted to skate so we tried out Las Vegas Ice Center and what a difference to CNA!! It cost us double, you have to pay extra for skate aids, they don't offer helmets and the shoes are from the 19th century. We're kind of spoiled at CNA. Regardless of the price or equipment, the kids had so much fun:
Until next time! :)
