We met Stevie and the kids at the park Monday morning and the weather was perfect! With our volunteer schedules and the kid's preschool schedules we haven't seen each other as often as I'd like so it was so nice catching up with them:
Wes has been wanting hockey shorts to "go fast" because he thinks it won't hurt went he falls and will want to go faster... makes sense! He tested out his new shorts Monday during his private lesson and Ed said he actually kicked it up a notch! Seeing him in his hockey gear turns my heart into a pile of mush. Ed sent me pictures while I was at work and, of course, I was showing everyone:
Tuesday is my volunteer morning at Tenley's school while the twins are in preschool. It worked out perfectly because I got to go on Tenley's first field trip with her Kinder class and two other classess as well. Me and some of the other moms rode the bus and it was so fun seeing their little bodies on the bus. Tenley was so nervous about not having a seat belt or her booster seat (she's such a rule follower), but I think having me there calmed her nerves:
They went to the Henderson Library; which is the equivalent of Heaven to Tenley. Girlfriend loves to read; she's a real life Matilda! The kids listened to stories, sung songs, learned about the Library, explored, got Library cards, and checked out a book. I'd say it was a great first field trip for everyone:
Everly and Wesley learned about the letter 'X' at school. I love seeing how their tracing skills have progressed throughout the year:
It started to rain when we picked up Tenley from school, of course, but the kids were thrilled:
We left for Wes' Learn to Skate class early (at 3:50) because I knew there would be even more traffic because of the rain. Sure enough, there was and it was awful. 5pm hit and I was still 20 minutes away. His class is at 5:05pm and it takes him 10 min to get dressed so we ended up turning around and were in the car for 2 and a half hours! Wes was so bummed so I promised to take him public skating Wednesday morning to make up for it. The rink was empty and the kids loved having it basically all to themselves. Wes saw the goalie nets behind the rink and was fascinated. He kept having me pick him up to see how big they were. He said, "wow! They're much bigger than I imagined... I gonna need longer legs!!" I showed him where the goalie stands and he stood in the blue showing me his moves and it was the cutest thing. We skated for an hour and the kids were pooped:
Ev and Wes got progress reports Thursday and did great:
The adjoining classroom to Tenley has a incubator with eggs in it and they're anxiously awaiting the birth of the Kinder chicks. Needless to say, Tenley has been learning all about chicks in school and brought home these adorable chicks:
The Knights played at T-mobile Arena Friday evening. Ed and I planned on going down to watch the game outside the arena, but cancelled our babysitter and decided to save the money for tickets for the next round. Wes grew out of his Golden Knights shirt so we went down there before it got busy to look for this Fleury shirt he wants, but they were all sold out in his size. The kids had fun seeing the arena before the game, though:
During the game, Tenley's teacher texted to tell us that the first egg hatched!! Introducing-- Knight:
After teaching Saturday morning, I took the girls to Gymcats. Tenley's cheer class was off to the side so I couldn't see any of it and was bummed. Good thing Ev did really well in dance:
I taught again in the afternoon and the whole fam picked me up from work, then we headed to the pool for some fun in the sun:
We spent the evening watching hockey in our jammies; which made for a pretty perfect evening:
Sunday morning I attended Molly's 90 Minute Full Body Burn Intensive and man did I think she was trying to kill us the entire time!! Oddly enough, we all left with huge smiles on our faces:
Until next time! :)
