Happy 7 Month Birthday, Tenley Bear!!
Baby girl gets more of a personality everyday:
and is getting SO big...
and rambunctious...
and curious...
Silly girl tried to eat her 7 month sticker!!
Tenley hit some major milestones this month.
Here's what she's been up to:
- Tenley weighs 21 pounds and is 28 inches long.
- She wears size 6-12 month in just about everything.
- My crazy girl now wears size 5 diapers (I know, right?!).
- She still has 2 teeth and I believe her top 2 will be coming soon.
- Her hair has really started to come in this month and she developed a "fuzz head".
- Her first word was "DADA!" and she says it all the time. Total Daddy's girl...
- She learned to click with her tongue, make raspberries, and growl!!
- Baby girl learned to call Pearl to her by patting the ground as a way of saying, "come to me!" - they're totally besties.
- She is OBSESSED with anything Mickey Mouse!! If she's fussing we'll put on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and she starts smiling and kicking. She just goes nuts when she hears the Mickey Mouse song!
- She learned to wave and will wave at everyone and everything! When she's in her wagon and I say "Beauty Pageant Wave" baby girl will start waving away (totally the cutest thing EVER).
- She can still stand fairly well, but still needs assistance. She's such a spaz that I don't trust letting her stand without holding her because she likes to flop up and down and turn around. She's just a maniac!
- She still loves to zoom around the house in her walker and has really taken it up a notch. We had to move Pearl's water and food bowls because Tenley loved to go ram into her while she was eating.
- She is such a squirmy worm these days! Baby girl can get from one side of the room to the other side of the room in no time. She'll either lay on her back and back-scoot, do a modified army crawl, or roll non-stop until she gets to where she wants to be. I'm pretty sure we'll have a crawler on our hands shortly!
- I have made the following solids for Tenley: sweet potatoes, acorn squash, peas, pears, bananas and apples. So far she has loved them all, but her favorite has been the pears. We try to feed her a solid food once a day and usually Eddie is the one who feeds her. Some days we are too busy or out so I don't have my food to feed her so she doesn't get solids that day, but other than that it is going pretty well. She hasn't had any reactions, but when she first started eating solids she had trouble falling asleep at night. It took her an extra 2 hours to fall asleep for about 3 days for each food being introduced. We'll be moving on to different foods this next month so hopefully her tummy is more mature and we don't experience that again. I feel like we need to take the solid feeding up a notch, but I'm not real sure how to do it or when I should start doing it twice a day. I know that breast milk is the best for her, but at the rate we're going this kid isn't going to be able to eat her fabulous 1st birthday cake without getting totally sick!! I need to look into how I'm supposed to start incorporating more foods into her diet, not a lot, but just the proper amount for her age.
I am totally loving being Tenley's Mommy, but I can NOT believe how fast the time is going by. I feel like my baby is going to be 1 in the blink of an eye (only 5 more months!!!). It is so sad how fast the time is going... I just want her to be tiny and rock her in my arms forever. She is already so big and I go to bed at night with an aching back from how heavy she is. I can't believe how fast she went from being this baby that I could carry around all day with ease to this big girl that just wants to crawl so bad that she has rug burn on her arms. She is just so determined and so independent. She wants to be moving and squirming ALL the time. My baby is gone (or so it seems). Although I dread those times at night when she wakes up to eat, I love that she is crying for me and still needs me and falls asleep in my arms - my little baby...
So excited to see what the next month has in store for us!!
Mommy and Daddy love you, Tenley!
