It feels as if I was just walking into Miss Shugart's class as a timid freshman at Cardinal Mooney High School only to see Eddie sitting in the back of the classroom with one of his best friends - Bill. I remember they would say thee most random things to me in class and I developed the biggest crush on him. I remember telling my friend, Bill, in photography class that I thought Eddie was cute. Why I felt the need to tell a senior that I thought this junior boy was cute is now beyond my belief. I don't know. Maybe I thought he'd tell him, but he didn't. A whole year went by and we never spoke after Miss Shugart's class. Until I was a sophomore that is...
When I was a sophomore and Ed was a senior I had the most ridiculous encounter with him... I was sitting at the lunch table with my friends one of them being Taylor when her brother, Adam, called me up to his table; which Ed was sitting at. For a sophomore to be called up to the higher level where the seniors were was scary so I was dying inside. Then, Adam says "Ed wanted to tell you something..." and Ed says, "Did you know that your shirt is tucked into your thong?" At that point I had to have been beat red and I just did a cute giggle and walked away. Our high school is a private Catholic school so uniforms were enforced and if you wore pants your polo had to be tucked in and I always tucked mine into my panties to ensure that it didn't come out because I was a good girl and never got detention and apparently on that day I had a whale tale! I can still remember thee exact outfit I had on that horrible day. How humiliating...
Our first kiss was also far from romantic as well. We were with Ed's friend Mike and he was driving Ed's car. Ed leaned in for the kiss, completely catching me off guard, totally filling my stomach with the most butterflies EVER, and put his hands on my face then before you know it there were police lights flashing behind us because our driver was watching us kiss. Since there was some swerving going on they wanted to search the car. Eddie had fireworks in his trunk, which are totally illegal, so the cops yelled at us for a bit, but let us go. I know... far from romantic (again)!
It seems like everything that is supposed to be romantic in relationships like your first encounter, first conversation, first kiss are all funny stories with us and that is what I love the most about our relationship. They all totally make me laugh!! We've been together for over nine years now and we never take things too seriously and we try to laugh at every situation we are put into. We always have fun no matter what we are doing, even if it's sitting at home enjoying each other's company rather than going out to a fancy restaurant and I truly wouldn't changed our lives for anything!!
Our two year wedding anniversary really snuck up on us this year. We planned on spending the weekend in California, but since Ed's parents were in town we decided to celebrate at home as a family instead:
We got Ventano's for dinner and let T play with my roses since she was so fascinated by them:
Tenley had a rough night falling asleep that night and it exhausted us:
(Love her rosy cheeks!)
Last year, we went all out to celebrate our anniversary so we were both happy to be low key with our little one this year. We already have big plans for the three of us next year for our third anniversary. Perhaps somewhere tropical that screams baby #2 potential! Just maybe.
Happy 2nd anniversary to the best husband and father in the world! I just adore you and am so proud of the man that you are. I'm so beyond blessed to have met you back at Cardinal Mooney High School where our love story began and all because we fell in love we have now started thee most amazing family together. I couldn't be happier with how our lives how turned out nine years later.
Love you, babe!
