Tenley was exhausted from celebrating Grandpa's birthday so she slept in:
Tenley and I went to Costco and I couldn't get over how big she looked in her car seat:
She left a hair clip in for more than 5 seconds:
We went to Barnes and Noble with Grammy and Gramps and Tenley entertained everyone on their little stage...
...Tenley made out with tons of new books, but her favorite new book is:
(She lovesss all the Karen Katz books, but she wants this one read to her all the time...such a lil' princess!)
Tenley turned 16 months old and me being the slacker that I am only got this picture of her that day...
...it is crazy how fast time is flying with Tenley Bear. I just can't believe that she is the same little baby that Ed and I brought home from the hospital. She is so full of spunk and always keeps us laughing. She is going through some weird phases right now, such as: the "no" phase and the "I'm going to scream for 4 hours in the middle of the night and not let you sleep" phase. The "no" phase was adorable in the beginning...we would ask her is she was ready to go to bed and she would shake her head no so badly that she'd fall over. It lost its sense of cute when she started saying no to everything though. She has also been teething pretty badly (she got 4 canines and 1 of her second molars in 2 weeks) and now has 17 teeth! Crazy, right? The teething has really thrown of her sleeping schedule (and ours). When I'm rocking her to sleep at night she instantly wakes up as soon as I begin to lower her into her crib. She just wants to be cuddled. She'll wake up somewhere between 11:30 - 12:30am and just scream and SCREAM until one of us goes in to get her. Once we rock her to sleep again, we struggle to get her back in her crib. She shrieks and points to her crib while shaking her head no. I'm not quite sure if it's just the teething or if she hates being kind of caged in and is ready for a toddler bed? Either way, this phase is exhausting. Despite the teething, she is such a happy girl! She has kicked the habit of napping in her swing and will now nap wherever I cuddle with her and I am really enjoying all of our cuddle time. Being her mom has been the greatest experience ever and I'm definitely cherishing ever moment with her. Getting to see her learn new things everyday is so rewarding. I just can't get enough of that lil' munch.
Speaking of cuddling...we cuddled on the couch with Pearl before nap time:
Tenley had so much fun playing 'Ring Around the Rosie' with Grandpa...
...she also giggled like crazy while Grandma sang 'Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes':
Tenley enjoyed the beautiful day in her backyard...
...she can even climb up the stairs of her clubhouse:
Grandma and Grandpa watched Tenley Thursday afternoon so Ed and I could go on a "date". We chose to go test out our new gun rather then go to some fancy dinner:
(Obviously I need a little practice because I only hit the target once!)
My little teething baby has been chomping on everything...
...she even took her pain out on Pearl by annoying the crap out of her:
(Poor Pearl...)
To distract T from the teething pain we went to the park with Grammy and Gramps...
...someone was really pooped after all that fun:
After her nap, we went to visit my brother-in-laws fam:
That night my in-laws watched Tenley Bear while we went to Firefly with Courtney and Isaac. It was SO nice to get drunk off of 3 glasses of wine have drinks and tons of laughs with our friends and you know my mother-in-law was super ecstatic about getting to rock Tenley to sleep! A total win/win situation.
We celebrated Grammy's birthday.
We said good bye to my in-laws that night; which is always so hard. I wish they were here everyday. It's just not the same around here without them. Tenley misses Grammy reading her books and misses Pop Pop giving her stickers (he really became her best friend because of the sticker books they brought for her). The laughter that I hear when she plays with them just melts my heart and I will really miss it. Thank God they are frequent flyers and will be back in May! I'm counting down the days...
(We miss and love you both!!)
Since our bookshelf was overflowing from all the new books Grammy and Pop Pop bought Tenley, we bought two bookshelves from Costco and Tenley was such a big helper while Ed and I put them together...
...here is the finished product:
We played in the backyard and watched the planes:
