How far along? 17 weeks
Total weight gain: 16.5lbs (Half a pound more than when I was pregnant with Tenley.)
Wedding rings on or off? On
Stretch marks? Not any new ones.
Maternity clothes? Not quite, only because I've just been wearing loose sweats or dresses when I'm feeling up to it.
Sleep: Sleep has gotten much better these days, but on most days a nap is a must for me.
Movement: No kicks, but I have been able to feel them move for a few weeks now. When they're changing positions I can totally feel both of them sloshing around or putting a foot into my pelvic bone.
Food cravings: Hmmm...what haven't I been craving this week is a better question. I've wanted everything from soup to cheese sticks, salad, oreos, and Danielle's Popcorn. I never had a true craving with Tenley, but this time if I think about something and want it, I can't stop thinking about it until I've eaten it. So weird!
Symptoms: Exhaustion and dry nose.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Not this week.
Labor Signs: None
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy, but emotional.
Best moment this week: Seeing the little ones at the doctor and watching Tenley stand in front of the ultrasound TV clapping for the babies to appear. The tech explained to us that the babies are laying horizontally between my hips right now, one on top of the other with each others feet in the other's face. So that night we laid in bed pushing on the babies saying, "those are Wes's feet!" (Ev is lower so I can't quite feel her yet.) It's crazy how, with twins, you can touch them so early on because there's baby everywhereeee. The tech said that they should turn to a vertical position when they get bigger so I'll be able to feel both of them then.
Worst moment of the week: Although seeing the babies on Tuesday was my best moment of the week, it was also my worst moment of the week. After the tech checked each babies anatomy for almost an hour, she left and said the doc would be in shortly. I just assumed everything was normal as the doc came in to do my cervical exam. Usually he'll stand and talk to me after, but after the exam he sat down and started with, "so Baby B..." He explained that Baby B (Wesley) has SUA Syndrome (Single Umbilical Artery). Most baby's umbilical cords have 1 vein and 2 arteries, but Wes has only 1 vein and 1 artery; which can mean a number of things or be totally fine. With twins, the risk of heart defects are higher, but now that Wes has SUA his risk is even higher. We were scheduled to see a cardiologist in a month; which is standard with twins, but the doc said they they will look into Wesley a lot more then. Another risk with SUA is that he can stop growing. Currently Wes is measuring 4 days ahead of my due date, while Ev is measuring only 1 day ahead of schedule so it's good that he seems to be growing just fine. After this appointment, I was a wreck. My doc told me to not google anything about SUA and to not worry until there is an actual reason to worry, but naturally I didn't listen. Let's just say Google is going to be the death of me and was my reason for not getting any sleep that night. I laid in bed, tossing and turning. Although you are supposed to sleep on your left side while pregnant, my right side has been way more comfy, but knowing that Wes's head is by my right hip I started to blame myself saying, "this must be why his umbilical cord didn't develop properly...it's your fault!" Ugh, so yeah. A night with no sleep meant for an emotional following day. As the week went on I started to feel better about it and am praying even more for the little munches. Keep them in your prayers and I'll keep you posted after we see the cardiologist on September 10th.
Looking forward to: Feeling some kicks!
