Tenley was still sick on Monday, but didn't seem too bad. Monday also started Ed's last year of his sheet metal apprenticeship. He goes every Monday and Thursday night until November, then only has to go on Thursday night until March. I can't believe it's his last year. It went so quick and I am beyond proud of him! Tenley tried making the best of the sick/daddy-free day by having fun around the house:
Tenley has recently become obsessed with play-dough. She especially loves to stack it up:
She insisted that Pearl wear shades in the house:
She wore her princess jewelry:
Of course, Pearl had to look like a princess, too:
(This poor dog...)
Since it was a scorcher, we played outside for a bit in hopes that it would dry out T's nose:
For the past month, Tenley has been boycotting bath time. She has been screaming through her entire bath; which made me super nervous about Ed's night classes. Tenley totally surprised me by actually playing and loving bath time that night. I had to take pictures of her being a goof ball in the tub because I knew Ed would NOT believe me:
I couldn't believe how well behaved she had been for me all day. After her bath, I lotioned her up and suctioned her nose without any tears. I put her in her bed, said prayers with her and left her room. Baby girl went right to bed without any fight. I really believe someone swapped bodies with my munch because she is never that easy, but I absolutely basked in her awesome and unheard of behavior. Let's hope it lasts!
She was extra lazy Tuesday morning so I let her lounge in my bed and watch cartoons for a bit:
I also woke up feeling sick on Tuesday morning- stuffy nose and scratchy throat. I told T that she needed to take care of me and that little angel smothered me with snotty kisses, played with my hair and made me laugh all day:
Later that day, we had our bi-weekly appointment for the twins. This appointment was going to be a long one because they were going to go over the babies entire anatomy to make sure all was well. We usually try to get a sitter for our appointments since they are usually long, but since T was sick we brought her along. She was so good for the whole over two hour appointment and made everyone laugh when she let some massive farts fly. She even clapped and danced in front of the TV because she was so excited to see her brother and sister:

We were both still feeling sick on Wednesday so we spent the day being lazy:
On Thursday I woke up to a text message from Chelsea saying that she was having Lindsay bring me donuts. Unfortunately, Tenley and I were feeling worse and I wasn't up for donuts so I called her right away so they didn't go through all that trouble for me. When she heard my voice and that Ed had school all night, she insisted on arranging dinner for us all the way from Denver. During Ed's 30 minute break between work and school, Chels and Linds ordered a BUNCH of yummy food from Lucille's and Linds said she would bring it to us during Ed's break. I was beyond touched.
We spent most of the morning and afternoon cuddling on the couch and sleeping in bed:
I haven't drank coffee since I found out I was pregnant. Karina introduced me to Barley Cup, a caffeine-free coffee-like drink from England, and it is delicious! We drank all the Barley Cup so Karina brought me a new brand to try from Whole Foods and it was just as delicious and felt amazing on my sore throat. She also brought us warm homemade chocolate chip and blueberry muffins. Again, it was beyond nice:
During Ed's break, Tenley chowed down on delicious ribs with Daddy:
I don't know what I did to deserve such awesome friends, but man-oh-man have I scored the greatest ones. They are just the sweetest and put the biggest smiles on our faces:
(Thanks Chelsea, Lindsay and Karina!! I am beyond grateful for you all!! Love you guys!!)
Our spirits were totally lifted and we were determined to start feeling better. Tenley took a long nap with her new cuddle buddy, Pearl, while I lit fall candles and made homemade Chicken Gnocchi Soup to make us all feel better:
(Recipe for soup is on my 'Calories' board on Pinterest...you will not be disappointed!!)
I hit the 17 week mark in my pregnancy and Tenley gets more and more excited about being a big sister as the days go on:
We went to buy some lavender plants in attempt to keep out the nasty scorpions that seem to love our house. Tenley had fun running around in the plants and even helped water them once we planted them:
After Tenley went to bed Saturday night, Ed and I worked on her new room for a bit:
Everyone was feeling pretty good on Sunday, but the weather was pretty gloomy so we stayed inside, watched lots of Doc McStuffins and enjoyed the rain:
Until next week! :)
