I was so excited Monday morning because I thought Wes was starting to feel better. Unfortunately, I was wrong and he got actually got worse. He started to throw up after nursing and I was so worried. The cute little guy was just miserable underneath his adorable smile:
Ev was the same and just wanted to be cuddled:
(Her lips are unreal.)
Since Wes was worrying me, I called the pediatrician and brought him in. Dr. Vu said the poor little dude had fluid in his lungs. In addition to his albuterol breathing treatments, the doc also put him on steroid breathing treatments and an antibiotic. Poor little guy was on the works.
Luckily, Tenley was starting to feel better and wasn't acting out towards the babies anymore (thank God!). She was back to being a great big sister:
Taking care of THREE sick kids is exhausting, to say the least. As tired as I was, I tried to embrace the extra cuddles at bed time:
I woke up on Tuesday to a picture text message from my mom of my adorable niece and nephew with the message, "Aunt Kelli, we hope the babies are better real soon." Seeing these faces is bound to start anyones day off on the right foot:
(Thanks, Mom! This totally made my day!)
The steroid breathing treatment really seemed to help Wes, but now Ev seemed to be worse. Even though Ev was having a hard time breathing and eating, she was still in a good mood and played throughout the day:
Since the babies are in the laying position when they nurse, they were having a really hard time nursing and were getting really frustrated so Daddy and Tenley fed them:
Everyone played together after the babies got some milk in their bellies:
Tenley clapped for the twins and patted their backs while they did tummy time:
Wes threw up all over Tenley and I. The poor guy just couldn't seem to get better and poor Evie was even worse, too:
Fortunately, Wes had a follow up with Dr. Vu to check on his lungs. We brought all the kids this time so we could hopefully get them all feeling better. Wes still had fluid in his lungs and now Ev did, too. Dr. Vu also put Ev on the additional steroid breathing treatments and antibiotics. He said that they have RSV and since they are so young and tiny they have to continue the steroid breathing treatments for 2 months or until it's 90 degrees outside. Poor kids.
Wes was pooped after the appointment:
Wes' congestion finally cleared up on Thursday and he no longer sounded like Darth Vader. He even wanted to play and watch cartoons with his oldest sis:
Although Wes was feeling better, Ev was at the peek of her congestion and wasn't happy about it:
You wouldn't think breathing treatments could be cute, but these kids make it freaking adorable:
Everyone took great naps and even slept during their breathing treatments (sounds rough, right?!):
Tenley woke up in a silly mood and really wanted sister to play with her:
Ev threw up all over herself while taking her medicine that night. When I undressed her I couldn't help but notice how she is starting to chunk up:
Tenley was finally ALL better and she couldn't have been more happy about it. She was all smiles and was a big help with her sick brother and sister:
The babies had their follow up Friday afternoon and besides being super sleepy Dr. King said that they seemed to be turning the corner and sounded much better:
We finally got the mail and had TWO packages (we love packages!) waiting for us. Great Grammy Sophie sent the babies adorable onsies for when we make pierogies and outfits for them to take pictures with the Easter Bunny in:
(Thanks, Great Grammy Sophie!!)
Grandma Cathy sent the kiddos a bunch of different things and Tenley had fun modeling them so we could send her a picture:
(Thanks, Mom!!)
Tenley gave sissy some lovin':
Ev played on the play mat for a really long time, she even tried pushing Wes off by rolling on him (repeatedly)...she's a mat hog:
The twins enjoyed their bath time with Daddy:
The babes took an early nap on me after a nursing sesh:
Wes hung out while big sister jazzed him up:
(Ohhh is he in for it...)
Ev would not sleep if we put her down, she just wanted to be held all day. Tenley thought sissy wasn't sleeping because she was hungry so she tried to nurse Ev herself:
(Finally out for 5 minutes!)
Big sister loved on Wes while baby sister caught up on her sleep:
We also received the twins newborn photos and our family lifestyle session this week so I'll be spending the next few weeks figuring out how to add them all to our already cluttered walls!
Until next week! :)
