Weekly Update

Monday was the first day of 2018 and the weather was perfect so, of course, we took the plasma cars to the park for some fun in the sun:

We spent the rest of the day playing board games:

Tuesday was super cloudy, but that didn't stop us from enjoying the day. We went to the park with the O'Neils and had such a blast playing under the clouds:

Wes wasn't into T-ball like we had hoped... whomp, whomp, whomp. Since his first ice skating experience a few years back he's said he's wanted to play hockey. The Vegas Golden Knights practice arena, City National Arena, offers 'Learn to Skate' programs with the Vegas Golden Knights Skating Academy. We told Wes about it and he wanted us to sign him up! Tuesday evening was his first 'Learn to Skate' class and he did so good:

The more class went on, the braver he got:

In between doing each others make-up and giggling, the girls cheered on brother. Ev was the cutest chanting, "push and gliiiiide":

The kids had to stop at The Arsenal after:

I highly recommend the skate programs at City National Arena! The price was so affordable and they provide everything! They are so into helping the boys and girls. We're so excited to watch Wes progress and see him with a stick and puck. Since he did so good (and we were in Summerlin) we treated the kids to the best ice cream EVER- Handel's, duh. Grammy Sophie sent us a gift card for Christmas so we bought all of our favorites and the kids were too excited to wait until we got home to start eating their ice cream:

(Thanks, Grammy! A spoonful of home!! Love you!)

Because we love the park so much, we met the Holmes and Medranos at the park Wednesday morning. We are so lucky that we get to spend our "winter break" park-hopping with our friends:

Unfortunately, we spent the day inside Thursday because Mommy had to clean...so lame:

At least I had the cutest birthday mug from my Momma to brighten my day:
(Thanks, Ma!)

Friday was my birthday and I woke up to the kids in my bed with handmade birthday cards and a bag full of Christmas chocolates that they took off the counter:

As I drank my morning coffee, the girls serenaded me:

That afternoon, I took class and the girls absolutely spoiled me!! After class they sang 'Happy Birthday' and ate cake with me. The girls made me feel SO loved:

(Thanks, guys!! You're the best!!)

When I got home, Ed had dinner ready and my favorite red velvet Nothing Bundt Cake waiting for me! The kids were so excited to sing to me and blow out my candles; it was such a great way to end my day and I'm truly blessed with this little family of mine:

Last week we went to Floyd Lamb Park and Ev was so bummed that she couldn't ride the horses so we promised we'd celebrate her birthday riding the horses. Ed's parents were in town so we all headed to Floyd Lamb Park to feed and play with the animals for the twin's birthday:

Ev was in Heaven when she rode her horse- Jacks. She kept squealing and yelling "giddy up!" the entire time. If I had the money, we would've left with every horse! She had all the heart eyes for them:

Tenley loved riding Beau like a big girl and Wes is too cool to ever admit that he's having fun doing anything:

Let's be honest though, the kids get their love of animals from me; which I get from my Dad. There's something about these horses, donkeys and especially that freakin' llama that legit makes me teary eyed with joy! I'm so in love with their llama, Zeus, that I'm thinking of ways to bring him home:

(Seriously, are you allowed to have one in your backyard?!)

We loved the donkey, Juliette, and the kids were convinced that she's the donkey from the movie 'The Star':

Besides the horses and mini-horses, Everly loved the little goats:

Wes is too much of a germaphobe to play with the animals, but was all about the bounce house:

On our way out we finally saw one of the peacocks open it's feathers:

You guys gotta go play with these animals...they need your love! $10 to ride, play and bounce, per kid- DO IT! Apparently farm life is rough because Ev passed out on the way home:

Since we considered that Ev and Wes' "party" we gave them their gifts when we got home. Wes loved his Magnatiles and Ev was obsessed with her doll ice cream truck:

I brought the kids favorite donuts home after teaching Sunday morning:

We bought my in-laws tickets to the Golden Knights vs. Rangers game for Christmas. We got a sitter so the four of us could go to dinner and enjoy each others company minus the kids, for once. Dinner was delicious and the game was out of this world!! I can't even explain how exciting Hockey is- we love it! We're so happy we got to take them to the game AND that we beat the Rangers! Woo-hoo! What a fun night:

What a fun week! Until next time! :)
