The kids were off of school on Monday for Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Tenley slept in, while I played third wheel to these two snuggle bugs:
I taught a kick-ass Empower class Monday evening:
Since school was out and everyone was healthy, we finally got to spend the morning with the Rices. We haven't seen them since Thanksgiving because of our crazy schedules and how often our kiddos have been sick this winter. The kids were beyond excited to spend the morning with them! Ev showed them the seeds she collects so they spent most of the morning smashing pods to collect more seeds, while Linds and I got to catch up:
Ev and Wes didn't have school on Tuesday because of MLK Day and I couldn't bare the thought of telling Tenley I wouldn't be in school volunteering so Stevie was nice enough to watch the twins, while I volunteered at school:
(Thanks, Stevie!!)
Tenley would've passed her Kinder sight words on Friday, but got cut off because of a fire drill so I didn't want to disappoint her, again. Since she didn't get tested on Friday; I knew she'd pass with me on Tuesday and we were both so excited!! Baby girl blew through her 30 units of sight words and we honestly couldn't be more proud of her! She is so bright and eager to learn. This girl is meant to do big things:
Tenley brought this home from school and it made me smile:
Wes got hockey gloves before practice on Tuesday because all the blades give mommy anxiety. He thought he was so cool with his new gloves and loves hockey:
He's doing so well without the cone and thank God for helmets:
Tenley couldn't get started on her homework fast enough on Wednesday. She loves homework:
Tenley cheered at Foothill High School between the girl's and boy's varsity basketball games. She was so excited and happy to do it with her friends. She forgot the cheer that she learned over the weekend, but did really well on the dance! We're so proud of her for getting up in front of so many people and having fun, too:
I had to wake Ev up for school Thursday morning...girlfriend was knocked out:
While all the kids were at school, I went to my home away from home-- Pure Barre, duh. I've known Amy for years and our kids go to preschool together. We are both all about fitness and I've been telling her to come try Pure Barre and she finally did! She loved it and I loved having her next to me because it made me work so much harder:
The twins learned about the letter 'J' at school and came home covered in mounds of glitter from decorating their jewels:
Wesley and Pearly were playing so nicely together. He was pretending his magna tiles were pizza slices and forcing Pearl to "eat" them:
After learning more about the letter 'J', we met the kid's school friends at the park for lunch and more play time:
Tenley brought home her level 8 Lexia certificate on Friday:
When I'm not teaching at PB, I'm usually there taking class. I was there early Saturday morning for a double-- Empower and Classic:
After that and a quick shower, it was off to GymCats! Ev loves her dance class and is convinced she's a "Prima Ballerina":
Tenley was a little disappointed that she wasn't going to cheer camp, but got excited when she was back with all of her friends. Her teacher is amazing and Tenley does really well in her class:
We had a WILD Saturday evening working on Tenley's 100th day of school projects! She had to turn the number 100 into a picture and she turned it into a llama (the love of llamas in this house is a real issue):
Then, she had to make a shirt for the 100th Day of School Fashion Show. They had to pick 100 items of something so they can visualize how many 100 is. At the craft store her mind was all over the place and we had a basket full of all things sparkly. She ended up choosing glitter hearts because she loves school so much:
She didn't like my idea of doing 100 pet stickers for '100 Days of Being Teacher's Pet'... just kidding (kind of)! I really love the family projects she brings home because I know she loves doing them with us:
We had some extra hearts that Ev and Wes got to make a craft with, too. Wes had Ed write his name all over a piece of paper, then decorated it with glitter hearts. When I was leaving for work Sunday morning he said, "take this with you to work so you don't forget that I love you.":
I only taught 1 class Sunday morning, but it was super fun one because Kelly came and took her very first Pure Barre class from yours truly! It meant so much to me that she came and supported me! Thanks, Kel-- you're the sweetest and your form was perfect! Barre with friends, followed by Cassi's amazing Lifted Seat Intensive was a tucking good time:
Until next time! :)
