Weekly Update

Ev's eye started getting red, puffy and goey. Since it was also coming out of her nose I assumed it was because her sinuses were so stuffed up, but since the kids were in such bad shape I called their pediatrician as soon as they opened and made an appointment for that morning. The girls dressed up as Queen Elsa and Princess Anna while Wes was completely passed out in my bed:

When we got to the pediatrician's office we got called right back and the kids started screaming for lollipops so I caved to keep my sanity. Once they had their suckers AND the princess room everything was peachy keen, except the fact that they were full of nasty germs. The girls had random fevers, but Wes' was constant. Now that Tenley was done vomiting, she developed this nasty cough that put lots of liquid in her lungs. Wessie Boy was the same as big sis, but his lungs weren't as bad. He also had a little swelling and redness in his ears; which she thought was causing the constant fever. Last but not least, Evie had pink eye. Great...two types of breathing treatments 4 times a day for Tenley and Wesley, an antibiotic for Wes' ear and eye drops for the peanut. Thank God the dum-dum's were putting smiles on these sick kid's faces:

Tenley and Wes hardly slept Monday night, but at least Wes woke up in a good mood and Evie's eye was already looking better, although Tenley now had pink eye, too. Wes couldn't fall asleep for his nap because he was burning up. That is when I decided to start his antibiotic since it seemed that he was in fact developing a ear infection. His fever wasn't going away and was just miserable. As soon as I gave him the medication he cheered up and began to "talk" to Pop Pop through the Frozen DVD while the girls napped/rested:

When Ev woke up they played dress up together since Tenley was being very lazy:

Tenley even fell asleep while doing her breathing treatment Tuesday night. Poor thing was so sick:

Ed had Wednesday off for Veteran's Day and I can't say it was a great way to spend his day off. Wes was up by 4am and Ev was so cranky that even Tenley was calling her out. Tenley kept saying, "Evie's being a real B-R-H, mom!" (Trying to spell out brat like Ed and I do so often...guess we should probably stop doing that!):
(When I snapped this pic Tenley was saying, "Mom, what's her deal?!" I mean...)

Since Wes was up so freakin' early he fell asleep on me at like 9am and I snuck him into our bed so the girls didn't wake him:

When he woke up from his nap we noticed that he was the latest victim of the nasty pink-eye:

The kids had follow-ups Thursday morning; which I wasn't worried about since they were so good on Monday. Well, first we got the Superhero room...a big no-no! First Wes thought it was awesome because Spiderman was on the wall, then was terrified when he noticed the massive Optimus Prime:

(Freakin' hilarious!)

After that it all went downhill. Tenley didn't understand what he was and asked a million questions about him. Everyone insisted on playing musical chairs...chairs, swivel stool, stroller, table, swinging from the desk. I mean, I only have two arms compared to their six! I'm so surprised someone didn't get a broken bone somehow. Luckily, Wes is scared of strange men and there was a male student with their pediatrician so when they were crammed in our room with us he stayed firmly by me. Anyways, turned out that the girls eyes were getting better and Tenley's lungs sounded better, but for some reason Wessie Boy sounded worse. They added a 3-day oral steroid to his daily regimen and I scheduled another follow-up for him on Monday. I managed to keep the kids awake on the way home so they could nap for me at home, but Ev would NOT let me take her in the room for their naps. The combo of getting over pink eye and her 2 canines that popped up must be too much for her to handle. Girlfriend was such a terd and kept everyone up:

(Wes is like, "victory is ours!")

Since the twins love me so, SO much (that's the only explanation I can think of for their extreme need to wake up so early everyday) they decided to both wake up at 5:20am Friday morning. Since I also woke up sick I wasn't thrilled about it, but at least they cuddled and watched Disney 'Short Films' with me:

Tenley got a package from Grandma Cath with a Queen Elsa dress and Malificent dress. She has been talking about these all week and was so excited to finally try them on for Grandma Cath:

(Thanks, Grandma Cath!! We love you!!)

The kids also got presents from Grammy and Pop Pop and we super excited to play with their new Lego Duplo sets:

(Thanks Grammy and Pop Pop!! We love you!!)

Linds had been begging to help out all week, but I refused. I got a text message from her saying, "open your front door yo" and found homemade chicken noodle soup with motzo balls, saltines and pineapple juice:
(Thanks, Linds! You are a Saint!!)

We were all going a little nuts from being cooped up and needed some cheer so we broke out the Christmas tree. We ran out of time to decorate the tree so each kid got to put one ornament on the tree. After bath time they were in awe of the tree and admired the lights:

Wes was up at 3:30am on Saturday and was down for a nap by 8am while the girls cuddled quietly together:

Once Wes woke up we all got to decorating the tree and the kids got so excited every time a new ornament came out of it's box. Seeing their excitement was such a joy:

Since Wes already napped his afternoon nap was out of the picture so while Ev napped and Tenley rested the boys put together our new vintage train. And by vintage I mean it was the train under Ed's tree when he was a boy. My in-law's mailed it to Wes last year and we were so excited to give it to him this year. He loves trains and was so excited to get it running with Daddy:

The girls dressed up as Queen Elsa and 'Frozen Fever' Elsa Sunday morning and looked adorable as ever:

Terrible twos are in full force in our house and I feel like the kids are kind of bipolar and I may or may not be loosing my mind. Kicking doors is definitely a new thing around here:

Sunday afternoon superwoman a.k.a. Karina finally gave birth to Valentina in a record 2.5 hours!! Since I wasn't there for this birth but was all better after my 24 hour bug, I had to go snuggle that chub-a-lub and God is she so delicious! The thing I will remember most about my first visit with baby Valentina is her sweet sister Alena being obsessed with her 'baby toes'. She was constantly pointing to Valentina's toes, kissing and giggling while saying "baby does!!" It was so precious and I just love sweet baby V:

What a perfect way to end a hectic week!

Now that we're all on the mend let's hope next week is better! :)
