Weekly Update

Monday was Tenley's 4th birthday and she spent the day celebrating at The Happiest Place On Earth! Happy 4th birthday, Tenley Bear!!

We spent half of the day on Tuesday in Disneyland, then spent a big chunk of the day traveling back home.

We got home right before 8pm, but the kids were ready to run around after being in their car seats for so long. Francesca, Matt and Milly Moo got Tenley a Disney gift card for her birthday and she bought herself the 60th Anniversary Barbie while we were there and had to open it as soon as we got home:

(Thanks guys- that was such an awesome idea!!)

Wednesday was Tenley's school Halloween party. We were in charge of snacks so before we left for Disneyland we went to our other favorite place, Target, and bought goodie bags. Tenley picked all these cool Halloween gifts and non-perishable snacks for the kids at school that she thought were fun. The kids and I had fun making them and she was really looking forward to giving them to the kids at school, especially the slimy skeleton arms! And obviously she couldn't wait to wear her gorgeous Princess Aurora dress, again:

Of course Lyndsey and I had to get pics of the girls in their costumes before class started and they looked so adorable. I even walked her into class to see how cute her classroom was decorated and got to see Fable before class started:

Tenley had so much fun at her party and loved passing out the goodies we made. They also made Halloween crafts and even carved a pumpkin. I love their little class so much:

When Ed got home from work we dressed the kids up and took them to the pumpkin patch with Grammy and Pop Pop since we had the best overcast ever. The kids made Pop Pop go on everything with them and absolutely loved it. These kids smile so big and giggle so loud when Grammy and Pop Pop are around. Their bond just turns my heart into a pile of mush:

(Tenley and Pop Pop got matching battle wonds during this one!)

Tenley had her 4 month well-check on Thursday morning and she was terrified since she knew she was getting shots. She was being very timid, but opened up when she got her blood pressure taken for the first time. She thought it was cool since she "takes" my blood pressure all the time:

While we were there we read books to ease her mind and she cracked me up when she said this blonde, "kinda looks like Grandma Cath":

Tenley weighed in at 39lbs (75th percentile) and is 44in tall (97th percentile)- total super model status. She did awesome showing off her smarts despite her nerves, too. I had to hold her down so the nurse could give her two shots in her left arm and one shot in her right arm. After a few minutes of crying, her pediatrician gave her an Aurora sticker; which made everything A-okay:

We had dinner with the fam at Lucille's; which is always so delicious. The kids loved coloring before smashin' on some mac 'n cheese:

We had a lazy Friday morning since my in-law's had plans. We spent the morning cuddling with Pearl, then hanging out with the Rice gals:

(I mean, can you say "arranged marriage" or what?!)

We had such a busy week so we took it easy Friday night. We couldn't just do nothing though so we had a Cavs party, FaceTimed with Grandma Cath and made pumpkin pies for the Rice Halloween party on Saturday:

Tenley had dance class Saturday morning and was really excited because they got to wear costumes (I really don't know how she's going to function when Halloween is over...). Tenley chose to dress up as Elsa this time and looked so cute. She was even Line Leader this week:

We got the kids ready in their awesome Halloween costumes to go to the Rices annual Halloween party. Tenley chose to be Aurora months in advance and picked out her dress from Grammy and Pop Pop, but my mom saw this 'box of donuts' costume for Evie and we thought it would be so adorable on her, especially when my mom suggested Wes to be a cop. When my mom mailed me the costumes I knew they were winners! Tenley was all about posing in her Aurora dress and Ev was all about showing off that box, but Wes was the shyest cop I've ever seen:

(A big thanks to our parents for buying the kids their awesome costumes!! They were so stinkin' cute!! We love and appreciate you all!)

I did manage to snap a pic of Wes showing off those "guns" on his way to trick-or-treat at the Rices:

The kid's had so much fun playing with their best friends while the adults had fun eating all the amazing food and I had fun being everyone's bartender, too:

Once it got dark enough we loaded everyone in the wagon and headed out to load up on candy:

(This guy made Nora fall to her knees!)

The Rices always have great parties and we all had so much fun! Tenley is already talking about what she is going to be next year and this time it includes painting Pearl purple...

Tenley was still receiving birthday cards in the mail; which gets her very excited and makes her cheese really hard:

(Thanks for thinking of her Aunt Donna and Uncle Chris! We love you both!)

The twins were exhausted from Saturday night and took long naps, then we hung out with Grammy and Pop Pop before they headed to the airport:

Saying goodbye to them gets more and more torturous as the kids get older. Wes was saying "Pop Popppp" in his whinny voice, while Tenley sobbed and kept asking if they would be back for dinner over and over again. It's really heartbreaking. We are going to miss them so much and look forward to their trip here in January!

After that sobfest, Ed (who is way cooler than me) got the kids to smile again:

Until next time! :)
