Weekly Update

The "Week of Birthday Gifts" continued and T got the movie Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa; which came with a rainbow afro... obviously we had to put it on Tenley:

She really, really, really tries to help me with the laundry:

She seems to always be laughing (unless we're trying to put her to sleep):

We play dress up a lot and T lovesss it! She dressed up in a dress from Grandma Cathy and we sent her pics:

She also likes to wear her pants on her head... strange I know...

We started putting up T's birthday banners on Thursday so that we didn't have to do everything when our fam got here on T's birthday. When Tenley woke up from her nap and saw her banners she got soooo excited (totally made all the preparation worth it!):

Thursday was also Mommy's "big gift" in Tenley's "Week of Birthday Gifts" and she totally loved it:

The next day was TENLEY'S FIRST BIRTHDAY!! Since Ed was working on a school at the time and her birthday just so happened to fall on Nevada Day and schools are closed for the holiday Ed had the day off- SCORE!! While Tenley slept in, Ed and I were up at 6 am like kids on Christmas morning waiting for her to wake up and give her BIG birthday kisses!! When she woke up we brought her in our bed and sang 'Happy Birthday' to her and I, obviously, sobbed. 

We had a busy and fun day planned for baby bear so we started the day by taking her monthly photos. I can't believe these will be her last ones. Wahhhhh!

Then, we got her dressed in an adorable outfit from her cousins Aleia, Nicole & Denny:

Since the outfit didn't have grippers on the feet, we decided to do a quick outfit change before Grammy and Gramps arrived because we just knew Tenley would want to run to the door when she saw them. Sure enough as soon as she heard their voices from her room she came charging around the corner:

Once they arrived, it immediately turned into gift time...

...they even had this gift shipped to us and we've had it hiding in our closet ever since:

She totally loved it and quickly reclined to watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, of course:

Then it was time for Daddy's "big gift" in Tenley's "Week of Birthday Gifts":

(Side-note: Ed came home from work one night and said, "I bought Tenley a kitchen!" Then he showed it to me online and I was so proud of his choice. He stayed up until 2:30 am putting this bad boy together so that he could spend the whole day with T on her birthday and surprise her with his gift. She totally loves it- I'd say it was worth it!!)

That night the whole fam met at The Bellagio Conservatory where Tenley was absolutely fascinated with the flowers and "The Talking Tree":

When we got home Ed and I put the Birthday Girl to bed, then Grandma and I baked Tenley's oreo pops and rice crispy treats until 10:30 pm. We got a little delirious and we were all laughing hysterically at this video that Ed showed us:

HILARIOUS! The whole time we baked we just kept saying, "would ya look at this!"

(Apparently we're behind on this video, but better late than never, right?!)

Saturday was Tenley's big first birthday bash!!
(Still in amazement of how awesome of a party it was... SO.MUCH.FUN!)

Tenley went crazy in one of her new favorite toys, her Minnie Mouse Ball Pit, from Auntie Fran & Uncle Matt:

She cheered on the Steelers with her new pink Terrible Towel from Gramps (one of the biggest Brown fans I know):

(It's about time he realizes she's a Steelers girl!)

Then it was time to open the rest of her presents that she received from Ohio...

Thanks to everyone who sent Tenley gifts to open and thanks everyone who sent her cards, as well! We truly appreciate you thinking of Tenley on her special day! :)

Tenley was FINALLY done with presents and she was exhausted...

...but she quickly perked up when the rest of the family came over to play so we got some pics of her and the fam since we didn't get any at her party since she was such a busy bee:

This was honestly thee best week EVER. As I look back at it I realize that maybe, just maybe we spoil Tenley a little too much, but in our defense she is our first child and it is her first ever birthday. So yeah we went overboard, but I wouldn't change any of it. We are blessed to have been able to splurge on her this year, but most of all we are blessed to be spoiled with such great people in our lives. Thanks again to everyone for making this such an awesome week!
