When I think back to Thanksgiving as a child I remember the smell of my Dad's delicious turkey in the oven, my brothers playing football in the front yard with all the boys in the neighborhood, while I sat on the floor (an inch away from the TV) in awe of the Thanksgiving Day Parade- I was obsessed. This year, I tried getting Tenley to cuddle with me while watching the parade, but that lil' booger only wanted to watch Sofia the First. So we cuddled on the couch watching that, while Ed made us pancakes:
After our delicious pancakes, we FaceTimed with Grammy and Pop-Pop and Tenley was fascinated by all the snow in their backyard:
Later that afternoon, we went to the Rices for Thanksgiving dinner and, of course, Linds had the house decorated perfectly:
She even had special table settings for all the kiddos:
Dinner was absolutely delicious and the company was even better. We had so much fun chatting and laughing with everyone. Tenley was quite a handful because she didn't nap so we had our hands full with our little wild turkey:
T eventually crashed on the couch while all of us were chatting:
(Sorry, sitting is not my best angle...)
As always, we had a blast with the Rice/Sickle families. They are honestly some of the funniest people, especially Linds when she's had some wine in her system. Our dinner really proved why Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday...great family, friends and an overload of yummy food.
(Thanks so much for having us, Linds and Mase!)
When we got home, Tenley had to make up for lost time with the person she is most thankful for- Pearl:
I have an endless list of things that I am thankful this year. God has truly blessed me with such an amazing and beautiful life. This year, I am most grateful for the two healthy babies growing inside of me. As if that's not enough to be thankful for, I have such a supportive and hard working husband. He doesn't let me do anything while he's home, he's all about letting me rest so the babies can keep on cookin' and I'm really enjoying it. Tenley is full of reasons for us to be thankful- she's healthy, happy, sassy, funny and has thee biggest personality. She is the apple of my eye and will always be my little baby girl. Last, but not least, we have the most amazing family and friends. We wouldn't be where we are or who we are without them in our lives.
If I had to sum up my life in one word, it would be: thankful.
Hope everyone had a blessed Thanksgiving!
