Playing Catch Up!

With the wedding and honeymoon over I thought I would have time to relax and catch up on a lot of things, but for some reason I feel like I have even more stuff going on now! So here's a recap of what's been going on in our lives...

...Eddie, Kasie and I hiked down to the Colorado River. We thought it was a good idea because the forecast said it would be 78 degrees, but man-o-man... IT WAS HOT! Although it was hot, the hike was worth the struggle because the river was so pretty.

...GRACE TAYLOR ESPEJO HAS ARRIVED!! When I first saw baby Gracie, it was just amazing! I am in love with her and I can't wait to watch her grow.

...I celebrated Bethany's upcoming wedding. For her bachelorette, we went to Isla's for dinner and then went to PURE. It was a lot of fun and I can't wait for her wedding in July!

...Eddie seems to think I'm a little too obsessed with vampires and I'm starting to believe him! Just to add fuel to the fire, I went to a "New Moon" party with Kasie (my fellow vampire lover). Kasie and I brought Vampire red wine and we had a lot of fun talking about vamps all night with all the girls. Thanks Chelsea!

Chelsea is basically the best vampire host EVER.
This is amazing, right?!

Unfortunately, I did not turn into a
vampire after drinking this... bummer!

Yes, we wore fangs.

Honeymooners

Eddie and I did not think we were going to go on a honeymoon with everything that was going on in the past year, but we ended up pulling everything together and were able to have an amazing honeymoon! I'm so glad we were able to go on a honeymoon because it really made everything feel real. Our resort was on the island of Cancun, but completely secluded from the "party" scene. We were looking for a place to relax, but still have fun... so we chose to go to Excellence Resorts in Playa Mujeres, Mexico; which is strictly a couples resort - no kiddos allowed. It was sooo relaxing and beautiful!

When we arrived at our room we had this on the door:

And this on our bed:

Our first day in paradise was full of rest and relaxation!

The second day of our honeymoon we planned a trip to a close island, Isla Mujeres, where we had lots of fun. We took a ferry to Isla Mujeres and the water was sooo stinkin' blue.
IT WAS AMAZING!!

First we swam with dolphins:
(This is Daniella kissing Ed...
the only time I will let another women kiss him!)

(Me and Padmi)

Then we went zip-lining over the coral reef. There were three zip-lines and two of them were over the ocean. I was so scared, but it was so much fun!

After zip-lining we went snorkeling; which was such an adventure...

Eddie and I decided that we were going to go balls-to-the-wall and not be scared to go far out in the ocean. First, let me tell you that Eddie is scared of big bodies of water and can't swim. So, after we had our lifejackets and gear on we headed out and before we knew it we looked back and the shore was so far away! We were floating in about 30 feet of water and were amazed at all the fish and how beautiful the reef was. As we were chillin' out in the ocean we saw another snorkeler approaching us. Then, we saw this huge GI-NORMOUS thing behind him. Of course, I freaked out and hid behind Ed (like that would save me, right?!). Ed said, "Dude! What's that thing behind you?!" and the snorkeler said, "I don't know! It followed me out here, but it has huge fangs!!" Needless to say, Ed and I ran snorkeled to shore. We later found out that it was a barracuda. Once we got back to our hotel, we researched what a barracuda is and this is the first thing we read, "The collective name for a group of barracudas is a battery. They are voracious, opportunistic predators relying on surprise and short bursts of speed (up to 27 miles per hour to overtake their prey)." Apparently, they are attracted to the color gray and that guy had a gray t-shirt on! (Note to self: NEVER wear gray shirts in the ocean.)

Here what this gem looked like:
(YIKESSS!!!)

Since we were exhausted after that day, we planned a day at the spa. We spent two hours getting pampered and eating strawberries and champagne. We enjoyed our couples massage so much that we went back the next day. Absolutely Fabulous!

From This Day Forward...

"To have and to hold from this day forward,
for better or worse, for richer for poorer,
in sickness and in health,
to love and to cherish to death do us part."

Edward and I got married on May 21, 2010 and it was perfection. Although we had wind at the speed of a hurricane and hiccups through out the day it was perfect because I got to marry the man of my dreams. There are two things that made our wedding day the most special day of my life:
  1. The way Edward looked into my eyes when he read his vows to me - melted my heart. "If I am the richest man in the world or if I have one penny in my pocket, I will be the richest man because I have you." (Eddie Allan Poe - as I like to call him now)
  2. Our First dance is one of my favorite memories from our wedding day. When Eddie and I first started dating he would always sing to me, so we decided to pick a song by the artist that he used to sing to me. We chose, "Your Man" by Matt Ryzcek. We both sang the song to each other during our first dance and it was a magical moment.

Here are some pictures from our wedding:
(I will post the pictures from the photographer as soon as I get them!)

Rehearsal Dinner

Our Rehearsal Dinner was at Gordon Biersh in Summerlin - 40 minutes from our apartment.  I have a Jeep Commander that seats 7 people. To give you an idea of what my car looked like let me just explain what was in it:
  1. Eddie
  2. Me
  3. My bags (in front of my feet)
  4. Rachel (on my lap)
  5. Rehearsal Cake (on center console with Rachel's elbow in it)
  6. Jill
  7. Jill's bag (in front of my feet)
  8. Sara
  9. Sara's suit case (in the back of the car)
  10. Ray
  11. Mike
  12. My dress and viel (sprawled across everyone's laps)
  13. Card Box
  14. Vases
  15. Gifts for our parents and bridal party
  16. Signature Portrait
  17. Table Frames
  18. AND MUCH MORE!!
(Just to give you an idea...)

Needless to say, this was the ride from HELL! Although it was the worst 40 minutes of my life, it is definitely 40 minutes with my family that I will never forget!

This is my favorite cake from Nothing Bundt Cake. The bottom tier was marble and the top tier was red velvet with chocolate chips (my fav). Somehow this cake survived the ride. What a trooper!

(Grandma Rita - Eddie - Me - Grandma Sophie)

Both of our grandma's were able to come all the way from Ohio; which was very special for us!

(Jeremy - Ray -Eddie - Mike - Marc - Isaac)

Groomsman from Vegas and Ohio!

(Kasie - Jill - Me - Sara)

These are my lovely bridesmaids! After the Rehearsal Dinner we went to Red Rock where us girls stayed in the Honeymoon Suite. We had an entry way with a bar, dining area, living room, bedroom and two bathrooms - it was AMAZING! Although we could have stayed in the room for the night, we went to the Red Rock Lanes instead. While there we did shots of Patron, of course! I seriously think I am the only bride to do shots of Patron the night before the wedding, but I had to celebrate my cousins coming all the way from Ohio, right?!

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

My crazy dear friend, Kasie, threw me a bachelorette party on May 15th and boy was it a success! Kasie and I started the day off hanging out at the pool at Treasure Island; which was nice and relaxing. Then, we went up to the room and got all dolled up for our night out on the town.  The night was a "black and white" theme - I wore white while everyone else wore black.  In addition to my white dress, Kasie made me wear a penis ridiculous tiara and drink from penis ridiculous straws (I told you she's crazy). All of my closest friends showed up for Dinner at Isla's where we sipped margarita's and ate Mexican food. After dinner is when it started to get a little crazy...
A limo from Saphire's - the largest strip club in Las Vegas - picked us up. I had never been to a strip club before and boy was I in for a surprise! First of all, this Strip Club was super nice inside, very clean and "club" looking; however I could not believe that this really happened behind closed doors. Let me just tell you... I thought it was bad seeing these girls dancing for money, but when we went to the men's show that night, one word comes to mind... VOMIT! It was a whole other thing seeing these freakishly tan men walking around in their gutchies, but it sure was hilarious - a memory I will never forget

Later that night,  my Mom and Naydne showed up and all us girls went to LAVO and TAO to dance and drink some more. We met a guy that was originally from Israel, but now lives in LA and he sure seemed to be in loveeee with my Mom. We called him "Israel" and he bought us shots of Patron all night! Thanks Israel! It was soo funny to see my Mom dancing and having a good time. It was so nice to be able to share my bachelorette party with my Mom and closest friends.
Thanks Kasie! You're such an awesome friend! :)
