Weekly Update

I had been dreading this week for over a month now... Ed's company sent him to Kansas for their Foreman Conference; which meant 5 days without him.

Ev slept in Monday morning and looked so sweet:

I knew it was going to be a long week so I started it off by getting my nails done with Ev and Wes. The girls just love Ev and always give her a mani/pedi and massage:

I always feel guilty doing something for myself during the "kid's time" so I took them to the park to make up for it:

I got bath bombs for the kids so they were super excited for bath time:

By the grace of God, Ev AND Wes were excited for preschool Tuesday morning:

Tenley was also excited for school on Tuesday because it was 'Pirate Day' and she nailed it with her outfit:

The twins are learning about senses this week and made these super cute vases. They asked me to go to the park when I picked them up. Since they were being so good we went to the park to eat their Hershey Kisses from their vases:

Tenley had such a great day pretending to be a Pirate at school:

After finishing homework, we FaceTimed Daddy and missed him like crazy:

That evening we headed to Wes' T-ball practice and he did so good, but most importantly had fun:

We always get home late on T-ball nights and go to bed super late by the time baths are done. It always means I have to wake everyone up the following morning. Ev is obsessed with sleeping with a sleep mask from Alex and it cracks me up every time I see her sleeping with it on. She is such a Diva:

Tenley brought home some drawings of her hands in all of our favorite colors and pretty pictures of colorful leaves:

That evening Karina and the girls came over to hang. We haven't seen them forever since Kinder flipped our schedules upside down. It was so nice to catch up while the kids played:

My week as a "single mom" went fairly well until Thursday. We all started to break down from exhaustion. Our morning seemed like one big marathon after the next and Ev was in tantrum mode keeping us from crossing the finish line:

She finally calmed down when I remember that we were in charge of snacks at school; which was lemon Oreos and pink lemonade- THAT made her happy, of course! She was much better after school and was very eager to help me make smoothies before picking up Tenley:

Tenley's school is participating in the Apex Fun Run. She's asking friends and family to pledge money for laps, then next thursday she'll run as many laps as she can. The goal is to run 26 laps and she'll raise however much money is pledged per lap for her school and donate to the Thirst Project. Her Daddy made a pledge; which earned her a stuffed monkey, a helicopter and a slap watch that she loved (and looked like a teenager wearing it or maybe it's the 'Girls Run The World' shirt she picked for herself):

That evening we headed to T-ball early so we could play beforehand in hopes of getting home earlier. It was our first really cold evening, but Wes still did super well:

I've been bringing Wes into bed with me every night since Ed's been gone and he is the best cuddle bug! He smacks his lips while he sleeps and I could legit listen to it all night. Ev was crying in the middle of the night and saying how she missed her Daddy so I brought her into our bed as well and woke up to the sweetest sight:

I went and picked Ed up after I dropped everyone off at school. I was so excited to see him and he was so happy to be home. We headed straight to pick the twins up from school and they were so shocked and ran to the car squealing with excitement. Ev's not usually a Daddy's girl, but she kept saying, "I missed you, Daddy!" and totally melted his heart:

The one nice thing about Ed being gone all week was that I didn't have to work. It was nice to rise with the kids and be there to tuck them in every night, but I did miss my Pure Barre family. Since Ed got home Friday morning, I worked that afternoon and my client, Kristine, brought me the most divine cronut all the way from New York. She's brought it before, but this time she brought me my very own buttercream filled cronut with sprinkles- insanely delicious. I have to say I think I deserved to lick the container clean and I did:
(Thanks, Kristine!!)

I taught early Saturday morning, then rushed home to get Wes ready for his first T-ball game! Luckily the girls cheer and dance classes were cancelled for a big gym meet so we were all super excited to see him in action. He was shy when we got there so we were a bit skeptical:

When they called him up to bat, he charged out there, took his bat and started tapping home base like he'd been playing in the big leagues for years. I have no idea where he learned that, natural instinct, I suppose. I was laughing so hard; it was the cutest thing ever:

He ran into home base like a pro, but preferred to sift through rocks in the outfield:

Wes kept looking in the stands when he'd swing the bat, but still managed to hit the ball every time:

He got super sluggish at the end and needed some assistance from Daddy to bring it home:

For their first game, The Tigers, did great (or should I say GRRReat?)! It was so much fun and I can't wait until next weeks game:

After the game we headed to Dunkin' Donuts to celebrate Wes' first game. We got donuts and headed to the park nearby because Tenley's best Kinder friend had her first soccer game. Though Charley is a peanut, she sure is feisty. We had fun cheering her on, then playing at the park:

I had to teach a double Sunday morning and these guys made it so hard for me to leave:

The weather was beautiful Sunday so we spent a lot of the day outside. While getting ready for bed Wesley found my Honey Bunny and asked if he could have him. My Honey Bunny is my favorite piece of childhood. It was my Dad's bunny, then my Grandma Betty kept it at her house so us kids could play with him. We used to spend a lot of weekends at my Gram's and I always slept with Honey Bunny. When my Grandma passed away and they told us we could have anything of hers we wanted, I went right into her closet, took Honey Bunny and one of her T-shirts. I take Honey Bunny everywhere with me for good luck and he's rather ragged so I had to stitch up his arm for Wes. He was so excited to cuddle with him and renamed him "Burger":

I feel like this should have been a "long" week, but it was a really good one. I have so much to be thankful for and am ready for the next week with Ed home!

Until next time! :)
