Weekly Update

Tenley was still recovering from her cold/cough on Monday, but seemed to be feeling a-okay. She was all smiles, jumping on the couch and doing her best Miley impersonation; which was totally awesome:

Since she was feeling good, we took her to The District to run around and had dinner at Rachel's Kitchen:

I guess being outside wasn't a good idea because our little booger felt terrible on Tuesday. Her cough sounded so nasty, she wouldn't eat and couldn't sleep. She just wanted to hang out in our bed with her iPad:

Ed hung up these adorable wooden signs in the nursery:

Despite being sick, Tenley was still her silly self. She thought it was hilarious to give me a mustache with my hair:

We spent a lot of time relaxing on the couch on Thursday, too. Tenley Bear was feeling very motherly and took care of Princess Teddy all day by rocking her and suctioning her nose because she was also sick, duh:

T has been watching The Lion King for about 2 weeks straight. She insists on watching "i key" during nap time with Purr. The Lion King and Purr are her two favorite things right now:

She was feeling a lot better on Friday, thank God! She needed to get some energy out so we took her to the mall to run around. She had fun dancing with mannequins and even picked out a princess headband for her birthday party:

I hit the 26 week mark in my pregnancy...getting soooo close!!

Ed had to work Saturday so T and I ran a lot of errands. We took Pearl to get groomed and she did not want to leave Purr behind. When we got done running errands she walked around the house saying, "Purr...Purr...Purr..."- it was heartbreaking. We were all so happy to get Pearl back later that afternoon:

Someone possessed T's body Sunday morning because she was way too good! She played by herself all morning and had a blast entertaining herself. She chased Pearl around the house and played in her play room all morning:

Her good streak didn't last all day because she refused to nap; which turned her into a total grouch. Good thing we had Sofia's second birthday party that afternoon because I knew she would cheer up when she saw her bestie. The kids jumped in the bounce house and played outside; which really exhausted T. She was so tired that she fell asleep on Ed and even slept through the presents and cake:

(Happy birthday, Sofs!! We love you SO much!!)

Until next week! :)

Bump Watch: 26 Weeks

I haven't done one of these in awhile so here we go!..

How far along? 26 weeks 4 days
Total weight gain: I'm pleading the fifth on this one for now...lets just say I weigh 5lbs more than I did with Tenley at this point.
Wedding rings on or off? On
Stretch marks? Not any new ones.
Maternity clothes?  Yes and I'm accumulating quite the maternity wardrobe.
Sleep: Haven't been getting much sleep at night these days. It usually takes me about 2 hours to fall asleep because I'm so uncomfortable. The twins are constantly playing tug-of-war at night time so it's hard to fall asleep with that going on.
Movement:  SO much movement!! I love laying in bed at night with Ed and feeling their little feet and arms all over the place.
Food cravings:  Oreos, as usual. I'm pretty sure Ed and I are single handedly keeping them in business. I've also developed a strong love for strawberries dipped in vanilla greek yogurt. Kind of off sets all the Oreos, right?!
Symptoms:  Dry nose, tons of pressure and extreme exhaustion. When I say extreme exhaustion I mean, I could fall asleep at a red light if my bladder were empty. It's ridiculous!
Anything making you queasy or sick:  Nope
Labor Signs:  My braxton hicks contractions are getting more frequent.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy! I'm getting very anxious to meet the newest members of our family.
Best moment this week:  Going to the doc yesterday and having a "normal office visit" for the first time! (Normal meaning only an ultrsound taken on my belly.) Woo-hoo! Babies hearts were great and everything looked good. It was also a great moment when we only had to pay $32 for the visit rather than the typical $182.
Worst moment of the week: Tenley being sick, although it was nice to be extra lazy with her.
Looking forward to:  The arrival of my Mom, Aunt Donna, Mother-in-law, Father-in-law and Chelsea. We are going to have such a fun weekend celebrating Chelsea's birthday,  Tenley's second birthday and the twin's shower! CAN'T WAITTTTTTT!!

Now I'll leave you with a lil' twin humor...

Weekly Update

I finally put the bumpers on the twin's cribs and Tenley insisted on making herself right at home in her brother and sister's cribs:

(This made me realize that we're going to have to rearrange the cribs when the babies start walking or else they going to be crib hopping all night!)

Tenley loved on her brother and sister during nap time:

Tenley reallyyy wants to wear big girl panties and use the potty, but our timing is always off. She keeps taking her diaper off and reading books on the potty so hopefully she'll be potty trained by the time the babies are here:

Karina watched T while Ed and I went to see Dr. Adashek. This appointment was a big milestone because it was my last internal ultrasound (YAYYYYYYYYY!!!) because from here on out I'll be able to tell if I'm dilating without the exams. I'll have a few "normal" office visits where they take my vitals and do a quick ultrasound to check the babies heartbeats. After that I'll be going twice a week for monitoring. Doc said my cervix was "beautiful" still and that I am doing great. I told him about some major back pain I've been having and he just told me to take it easy because it's only going to get worse. I was so excited to find out that both babies are now head down; which explains why I've been waking up in the middle of the night screaming because it feels like they're pushing my pelvis down so hard that my bones could crumble into a million pieces. The best news of all was that the babies are growing right on schedule...

Ev now weighs 1lb 11oz; which puts her in the 58th percentile for size. She also has a strong heart beart of 142bpm:

Wes now weighs 1lb 12oz; which puts him in the 64th percentile for size. He also has a strong heart beart of 147bpm:

Usually I could lay and watch the twins all day, but this time I kept having to sit up because I was getting so light headed from laying on my back. Towards the end of our hour long ultrasound I just sat up while she did the ultrasound because I was getting queasy. These little boogers are really jacking up my back...good thing they're so dang cute! I really think they are going to look like Ed when they're born because they seem to have his nose. I just can't wait to see them and smother them with kisses!

Although it seems like I've been living at the Doctor's office, I really enjoy going because it is so relieving to know that they're doing good. I'll let you know how I feel when I start having to go twice a week!

I took KD Doughnuts to Karina's wednesday morning for a play date. The girls enjoyed the sprinkled doughnuts, while us moms sampled the rest. Isla, Sofia and Tenley had fun playing in Alena's swing:

Our play date really pooped Tenley out and she looked like an absolute angel while she cuddled up to me during her nap:

I always call Tenley Ace because the hair around her ears is at a weird length and always flips up like Ace Ventura. While smiling for a picture the resemblance was uncanny:

My little sweetie came down with a nasty cold on Friday. Poor thing was sneezing, coughing and had a runny nose. She didn't sleep well Friday night so she just wanted to lay on the couch Saturday morning and watch The Lion King or "i key" as she calls it:

She seemed to be doing better after a quick nap that afternoon. She was dancing, snapping her fingers and playing in the twin's cribs (looks like I'm going to have to wash their bedding again):

Later that night she got really bad and was having such bad coughing fits that we thought she was going to make herself throw up. I e-mailed her pediatrician with her symptoms and he recommended giving her 2.5ml of children's Delsym so we went out and picked that and a new humidifier up.  She was screaming and crying after her bath because she was so tired, but the cutest thing happened within the midst of all her tears...we had this conversation:

Me: what's wrong sweetie?
Tenley: (reaching for my belly while crying)
Me: do you just want to hug your brother and sister?
Tenley: yeahhh...
Me: do you wish they could give you a hug and kiss to make you feel better?
Tenley: yeahhh...

She totally made me cry after that! She is going to be such an amazing big sister and be so protective of her brother and sister. Her sweet heart makes me so proud.

Tenley fell asleep super early and slept good throughout the night. She woke up in such a good mood and seemed to be feeling a lot better. Thank God!

My mother-in-law finished Wes and Ev's baby blankets and they're absolutely beautiful:
(I can't wait to see them in person!)

T woke up at 6am on Sunday since she went to bed early. Needless to say I was exhausted and napped at 8am:
(Yupp, that's my big ol' belly hangin' out.)

Since it was such a beautiful day on Sunday, we bundled T up and played in the backyard so she could get out some energy and soak in some fresh air:

The fresh air really exhausted these snuggle bugs:

Tenley being sick really forced us to take it easy this weekend. It was really nice to have a much needed weekend of relaxation.

Until next week! :)
