Weekly Update

The kids didn't have school on Monday due to President's Day. I taught a class early in the morning and came home to these cute notes to the Presidents from Tenley:

I found the girl's LOL shirts at Target over the weekend and they insisted on matching for school on Tuesday:

Tenley was chosen as her classroom's 'Pick of The Litter' this week. She chose all her pictures to display, colored a picture and drew a picture of her stuffed horse, 'Stalley'. As I tested the kids on their Sight Words, I could hear Tenley's teacher reading the letter I wrote Tenley and had to choke back my tears. This has definitely been my favorite age with Tenley. Seeing her grow into this amazingly smart, caring and artistic little girl has been so much fun:

After volunteering, Tenley's teacher informed me that she tested into the Accelerated Reading Program. She'll be given a book to take home and read, then get tested on it to be sure that she is reading and actually understanding what she is reading. She loves to read and was excited to get another book to take home:

The twins brought home their Rainbow Writing for the letters 'B' and 'R':

Tuesday was Amelia's birthday so the kids and I stopped by the studio when we knew she'd be taking class to bring her flowers, balloons and bundt cake. The beautiful birthday girl was surprised and made our day with her smiles:

Then, we headed straight to Wes' 'Learn to Skate' class. It's his last week in 'Snowplow Sam #1' and we're so excited with how far he's come:

Wednesday was Tenley's school Spring pictures and class photos. I dried her hair the night before and somehow it managed to stay straight all night! I couldn't believe how grown up she looked:

Tenley had me take a picture of her and Kinslee to hang in her room and they looked so adorable for picture day:

These two are hula hoopin' pros and had me cracking up as they shook their little hips:

After drop-off, I picked up these signs I had made for the house and I'm in love with how they turned out:

I had the honor of teaching my first 500 Club class Thursday morning!! When I started coming to Pure Barre as a client I used to pick my spot in the room based on who I thought had the best form so it would challenge myself to do better in class. I always seeked out Amelia in class. Believe it or not, but I'm shy at first and have to be approached to start talking. After that you won't be able to shut me up, but Amelia friended me on Facebook and I remember showing Ed her pictures and saying how beautiful she was. Then, I'd come to class and she'd start talking to me and telling me how beautiful I was! She's so genuine that I actually started to believe her! She has become a dear friend of mine and I've learned so much from her!! I felt so honored to teach her 500th class and can't wait to continue to grow as a teacher with her as my guru- love you more than you know, Amelia:

After teaching 3 classes, I was pooped and before hopping into the shower, I noticed a sweet surprise from Ed that put a huge smile on my face:

The kids "rested" in their rooms and Wes asked if we could send Daddy a picture of him giving me a kiss... of course, bud:

That night, I made the the kid's favorite dinner-- Creamy Chicken Pesto. It's the only meal that they'll eat in silence and have seconds! Of course my little chef, Everly, had to help:

Tenley made her teacher a card and the poem melted me:

I got kicked to the curb Friday morning:

The twins had a good day at school, then came home and I actually caught them cuddling nicely:

Tenley brought home a paper for a bookmark contest at school and I thought it was hilarious that she wrote #mrsmccall on the bottom:

Tenley got a free kid's meal from Applebee's for turning in another Apple Core Bookmark and got her Lexia certificate for completing Level 9:

Daddy picked up the twin's new bunk bed and mattresses Friday evening and Ev and Wes helped him roll out their mattresses:

After teaching Saturday morning, I rushed to Gymcats to watch the girls dance and cheer for a bit:

After Gymcats, I had one more class to teach for the day. As I taught, Ed and the kids got their bunk bed put together:

Once it was put together, Ed brought the kids to Grace's birthday and met me at home to do the finishing touches on their bed:

We headed to Grace's birthday party and were pleasantly surprised by the masterpiece that Tenley painted! Cassi and Drew said she didn't move from her seat and was so into her painting. Girlfriend loves art:

Meanwhile, Wes painted Pikachu and Ev painted a unicorn:

The kids had such a blast celebrating the beautiful birthday girl:

We hurried to give them a bath as soon as we got home, then let them in their new room:

Tenley had another birthday party on Sunday for a girl in her class. The twins weren't happy to be staying home and Ev ended up falling asleep on the couch after crying so much. Then, they called Grammy and Pop Pop and got to see the fireworks at Disney World so score for them:

Tenley had so much fun at Scarlette's birthday party! Getting to volunteer in her class makes me feels so close to these kids and I truly have a special place in my heart for each of them. Seeing them play and smile together melts my heart! Thanks for letting us celebrate your birthday with you, Scar:

Until next time! :)
