Sweetest Pumpkin Pie

Shoe Size: 9

Look at this little lady!! I can't get over the little smile...the posture...the relaxed arms...the little hands...she looks like such a little lady!!

It seems like just yesterday we were welcoming Tenley into the world, now she's teaching us new things every day and making us laugh like we've never laughed before. It's truly fascinating how quickly they grow into these young children.

She has been potty trained since she was 2 and a half, but still wears pull-ups at night (mostly because I'm too lazy to potty train her at night since I get up enough at night as it is). She hasn't napped for about 4 months; which threw a major curveball into our afternoon routine for the twins. Since she doesn't nap, she sleeps very good at night. She still sleeps in her room and sleeps throughout the night, like she has been doing for about a year and a half now.

Her absolute favorite thing to do is to play dress-up. She is constantly in a dress and heels, but tip toes around the house so her heels don't make noise because she doesn't want to wake her brother or sister. Speaking of brother and sister, she is in love with her brother and sister. She is always saying, "I da big sista!" She loves being the "safety police" and will go around the house making sure the doors are shut, but my favorite thing she does is remove the hall nightlight every morning and put in the outlet cover. She always says, "Moosey no getchy that!" Besides being a Princess, being a Big Sister is by far her most favorite role of all.

We enrolled Tenley in preschool early (she misses the cut off by 2 months) since she was very eager to learn and it has really proven to be an amazing decision because she is just flourishing in school. In just two short months she can say her ABC's, count to 15, knows all of the colors, knows the days of the week and then some. She absolutely loves school and looks forward to Mondays and Wednesdays and asks to go to "gool" on her days off. She also loves her teacher and tells us what Miss Marshy teaches her and what songs they sang that day. Being in school is starting to help her follow instruction and listen better. It has been such a blessing!

I remember being so worried that something was wrong because she barely said any words and now I never have any peace and quiet because it's always, "whad ya doin, mommy?", "I wanna dress-up right now, mommy!" "I needa put food in me belly, momma.", "Eggy so prouda me, mommy.", "I love me brudda and sista!" She is such a parrot and does not stop talking. It's very rare if I don't hear about a Princess or Disneyland at least once every hour, as well. She's so funny. It's amazing to hear everything through her perspective, especially when she is telling another kid, "God bless you!" after they sneeze- makes my heart smile every time.

I've never met a more spirited child than my Tenley Bear, but at the same time I've also never met a sweeter gal. She has plenty of bad days (I don't think we've ever had a tantrum-free day), but she is always smothering everyone with hugs, kisses, hand holding, dance parties, etc. She is always making everyone laugh and feel included; which makes me most proud about her personality. So if being spirited means she will stay sweet forever, then so be it. I hope she stays as sweet as the sweetest pumpkin pie.

We love you, Tenley Bear!

Princess Tenley's Third Birthday Party

Tenley's favorite things (besides Disneyland as a whole) are all things Princesses and The Pumpkin Patch so I decided to combine the two for a 'Princess Pumpkin Patch' third birthday party. Per usual, Linds made the invites and really outdid herself:

Of course, our little Princess wasn't going to pass on dressing up and was looking forward to dressing up as her favorite Princess, Ariel, for weeks! She looked as cute as could be in her new "Na May" dress, shoes and crown. Girlfriend was all smiles and could not stop posing "likey a princess":

We decorated the house with pictures of Tenley with her favorite Princesses at Disneyland, pumpkins, lots of yummy food, treats, drinks and flowers:

Once the house was ready, it was time to get Princess Ariel's sidekicks, Flounder and Sebastian, ready for the party:

Tenley had been looking forward to seeing Evie and Wes in their costumes all week and kept saying "brudder and sista gonna look so coot!" and she was right, they all looked so freakin' adorable. Like, I can't even handle how cute they looked together:

The kids went nuts in the bounce house and had so much fun bouncing around together:

The girls (minus Ev, Lena, Olivia and Lily) managed to stand still together for a few seconds:

The girls took turns whacking the piƱata, until Ed had to give it a whack so the kids could collect some candy:

We sang 'Happy Birthday' to the Princess:

After cake, we all hung out, chatted and enjoyed each others company:

Finally, the Princess opened her presents:

(Thanks for all the ah-mazing gifts everyone- she loved them all! Girlfriend is stocked up on all things Princesses!)

Thanks so much to everyone who celebrated Tenley's THIRD birthday with us! We felt completely overwhelmed by the love she received from our friends and the love she received from all of her family in Ohio. Our little Princess is beyond blessed with such amazing friends and family in her life. She is such a lucky little lady!

Happy third birthday, Princess Tenley!
